2 laps of Innerleithen Red XC route on Sunday. The first one for this year, hopefully many more to do.

GT is great, we met a chap last year who was 72, and he was bombing round GT – at a steady pace.
Come up here and enjoy yourself, there is some beautiful countryside to look at too whilst you are riding round.

My understanding is that the Gyro is lighter for longer Enduro stuff but a bit skittish over the rocks and the Five29 is a bit beefer and heavier for but copes with going over the rocks.

My Raleigh Chopper back in 1978, sold to for £10. It was passed down to me from my brother. So wish I still had it now.

Maybe because they are not cheap and if your are not riding them regularly you may feel you need to get some of that money back. I have had mine for 2 years and love it to bits. Or they could be jumping on the 29 bandwaggon as you say.

Hoping to go riding up there this Sunday. Not been up there for years, hoping to do a few trails I have seen on the map. Hope the rain stays away.

Cheers for the code. Got myself a High Roller for the Summer before the price goes up too much.

My pal has singed up for this, London to Edinburgh, I told him to do the Edinburgh to London, it’s all downhill that way… See you all on the Esplanade on 6th, if that’s where it finishes. Well done and good luck to all that are doing it.

A beagle would be the only dog I would get, if I had to get one, and I would call it Smokey.

Man up and wear nothing, even in winter. I have not worn any night wear for over 10 years. Ana I am still alive.

It can be sometimes. When you have cycled trough some woods on your own and stop for a drink or something. Just stand still and look around you. Your surroundings will stay as they are when you have gone. Something nice about that.

I have just bought my tickets through Ticketmaster. There was a pop up thing that said something about you can buy tickets without buying the album, so I clicked on that and then it gave me options to buy with album or pre-order, so I pre-ordered and have bought my tickets. Hope this is ligit, maybe a loophole in the website, but I have a confirmation email to say I have purchased the tickets.

I got a pair of Vaults, they are great for non-slippage, but the small rubber seal on the axle to the pedal comes away all too easily for my liking, not sure if it is a design flaw if it is just me, but it is a really faff to clean and try get back on. Not tried any of the other pedals, but the Vaults are great for me.

The crapest finish to a film I have seen for ages. You don’t even see one of the main characters been killed, or the moments that lead up to his killing… Very poor finale to the film…

I have a 2000 LT and love it. I have some old boxxers on mine 151mm, they are a bit heavy, but if you had a single crown fork on there. The frame is light, it is just what you put on it.

Actually I have a D2 Carbon helmet. Well I didn’t die, dually thanks to the comments on here. The class was very good, the instructor didn’t have us doing stupid stuff, the crank arms were much shorter than on my bike, so I felt I was riding a kids bike, but all in all, I sweated a small child out, but did enjoy it, even with getting cramp half an hour into the 45 minutes class. But I battled on. And yes, there were people there that did not break sweat.
Thanks for all the comments folks.

Whoever has enough money to buy some Winter Tyres, please buy me some. I never got stuck, but I don’t have spare cash to splash on a second pair of tyres for the car. I have loads of tyres for the bike though.

I would love this, but sadly do not have the money that hopefully it will raise for charity.

I did mine for the first time last year and I was as chuffed as you to finish it and it worked. I have done it a couple of times since and still chuffed. Yes my next thing, like you is a fork seals service, watched a few vids on this, but not yet tired it.

+1 Kryton57 I never received mine either. Never going to use them. They have my details and probably sold them on, as companies do. And I have nothing. I just use water and TLC on my bike.

Just wait until you slightly drop the seat when going over rough ground, just a little bit, but it makes a big difference for me and the smoothness of the ride. I love my dropper too.

I’m not quite Middle Aged and definitely not a Mincer, but I do ride my Five hard. It can take it, it just seems to want to go, and you let it, but you still feel safe and in control. I come from a Downhill background, so I do push my Five going down and it takes it. Maybe you get to an age when you are not impressed with all this fancy linkage (just seems too excessive to me) and want something simple and works very well.
How many people on the trails and the forum that have been riding for years, but have not had an actual lesson? Quite a few, so why not have a lesson or two, and hopefully that will help on technique.

If I got one of those kits from UK Bike for my Pro II hubs, would I be able to use the same kit on my Bulb hubs too, or do I need to get a specific Bulb kit?
