Had exactly the same bit break on mine. Ended up getting a replacement red shifter from merlin for much less than the cost of a replacement set of rival ones. The internals are much sturdier than the rival shifter.

I use pixelmator for painty draw ry stuff. Would also reccomend Superduper! And an external hard drive for creating bootable backups

Soak for an hour in a solution of bicarbonate of soda before washing. Usually good for a few rides. Second the bio washing detergent too. I’m fat and sweaty and live in a hot climate and it works for me …

I got some xt brakes from them at a huge discount a few years ago. Came in a Hope box. Just bought a SRAM Red shifter which came in its retail box. I guess it just depends

When my wife went to register our son she overheard the woman in front spelling out her sons name, (imagine a thick manc accent) …. “It’s jackson spelled J-A-X-X-O-N”

The registrar was quite relieved that ours was called Ben (infantile diminutive I know but whatever) although she did ask to confirm the spelling.

Don’t understand how people come up with these stupid names, we couldn’t manage to think of second names for either of ours so they are A Smith and B Smith.

“Listen to this, Too good to miss, dada, dada, dah DAH! ….. <parp>”

It’s all in the timing but please be aware forcing the output can cause unintended consequences.

Have to see neuromancer etc in the context of when they were written … he didn’t predict cellphones either …

@bencooper The feathers in Vurt are explained at the end of Nymphomation. Its possibly more bewildering. I have to say I found the stuff he wrote after the vurt/pollen/nymphomation series is pretty unreadable.

Measure bb axle to the top of your seat post on the other bike, a medium soul has a 44 cm seat tube and I believe Cotic specify that the post should be inserted at least 10 cm, so your seat post lenght will need to be at least your existing measurement – 34 cm. Suspect you Might want to go for a 400 mm post. Check the seat angle of your existing bike too and decide on layback from that

Normally a size 48 just got some M087’s in Wide size 50. They are just long enough and a little narrower (but wide enough for me) than the size 48 regular width Specialized they are replacing (worn to death).

I can only assume the regular width ones are designed for hooved (hoofed?) animals.

34 is probably as small as you can go, sounds like a compact road crank. Number of teeth is limited by the bolt circle diameter of the crank. What cassette are you running? Would be cheaper to change that than the cranks.

I think maybe the format has run it’s course – still gets a massive audience but these things always run a couple seasons longer than necessary. Bring back William Woolard 😆

I’m more upset with them messing up masterchef …..

I reckon the longer chainstays on a 29er might help reduce auto wheelying when riding up steep stuff for us tall guys but thats a guess as both my bikes are 26 inch wheeled. I’m pretty sure the next one will be a 29er. (I’m 6’6″) so I can find this out and feed my obsession with procuring bikes …..

Had 2 outbacks both 2.5 manuals – the first one which was an 03 model had an issue with the solenoid that activated the cruise control where it would just switch off randomly every so often also had a plate come loose underneath by the transfer case. I believe the first ones had issues with the ‘fly by wire’ throttle – the one we have now which is an 08 model is much harder to stall ….. that doesen’t help though does it ? 😳

    Great cars though….

    Better tyre levers needed

Used intense steel levers and eventually (took maybe an hour or so) to get some UST crossmarks on mine. Wouldn’t inflate, discovered I’d managed to punch a hole in the inner rim between spoke holes with the lever 😳 . It’s a bit easier without the tubless rimstrips as they are quite thick so there’s a bit more leeway with the bead in the middle, but even getting regular tubes/tyres on is an absolute pig.

All my other wheels, road and MTB I can get tyres on and off with my fingers. I can only assume that DT did a production run that was slightly oversize.

Now saving for flows or 819’s 🙄

Absolutely not, I’m in Brisbane – Commercial TV news this morning was thus – Floods in QLD, Floods in rest of australia, Princess Mary (Tasmanian girl who married a danish prince) has twins. No mention of Brazilian floods or the unrest in Tunisia. Parochial to the core. (I’m sure the ABC and SBS will report the international news but they don’t get the audience).

The floods here have been devastating particularly out in the country, with farmers just recovering from around an 8 year drought getting their crops and livestock washed away. I think the current death toll is 16 with 50 missing but bear in mind the riverfront suburbs of Brisbane are generally where the really expensive houses are. Thousands of people here are volunteering to help with the clean up.

However International aid is clearly not necessary in a country this rich.

I somewhat doubt that there is a “Saint” equivalent for road biking, unless Contador is doing things on his road bike that’re rad to the power of sick.

Depends how much steak he’s eaten.

I like to leave a single sheet of toilet paper on the roll. Sometimes I like to leave the toilet seat up at night so when she goes for a pee in the dead of night she falls into the cold porcelain bowl. But I am a bit of a c**t.

I-beam generally lighter – I wouldn’t want to use the bel air I have on a hardtail as there is no flex in the solid I-beam rail – looks like some of their other designs so have a cut out on the rail so would offer some support. If you have boing on the back it’s less of an issue 🙂
