I have a long and unbroken track record of total and complete opposition to the armed struggle in Ireland. I have always and consistently argued that change in NI should only come about through democratic action, and not through the vicious anti-people actions of hooded thugs. It is a position which I maintain, along with my complete opposition to the continued criminal activities of Provisional IRA.

my comment comes from your previous posting on STW1 which are no longer available where you made it clear that you supported the violent actions of those who didn't support the political arrangements at the time and the rule of the british government in NI[/quote]

if you can't remember what stupid/trolling posts you put on here that's your problem

if you can't remember what I post don't give me a

    simplistic mind

in one of your general anti-establishment rants

you don't know my view on NI nor my connection to it. I know yours from your own keyboard.

TA soldiers haven't been called up for years – mobilisation is voluntary and most regular units will only accept TA deplying with them if they come up to their standards.

they have been compulsory mobilised since gulf war 2

sub-units have been mobilised individually (a platoon out of a company, company out of a battalion etc)

the lower your rank the more likely you are to get mobilised

if you didn't want to go you just cracked a tooth/ lost a filling, they are to tight to pay for the dentistry and send you home

pre operations training assumes that you are of a basic standard to start with I would suggest 11 days a year does not get you there

the number of days training before boots on the ground in Helmand will be less than a regular recruit does before he gets to his unit prior to pre-deployment training

(ernie_lynch is an apologist for the IRA who shot and blew up reg and TA alike so I don't know why he cares)

not safe to join these days

get no where near enough training and then sent somewhere where people shoot at you

    duty of care = fail

as usual all the available money will prop up the non-deployable overhead and the poor saps who join now could do less than 30 days training before getting called up.

there are three contributors to the problem

    government – management- posties

until they all decide to invest in the business and deliver a decent service then we are going to lose the benefit of the postal service which for me is actually quite good most of the time

IMHO the strike will achieve nothing and just hasten the end.

hindsight: plan A:you should have just breath tested him one morning and dismissed on Gross Misconduct
plan b: performance manage him out by the book

reallity is that although your MD may have thought he was doing the right thing he may get caught out by not following statutory procedures for redundancy (notice period is normally 30 days for <100 affected IIRC)

an employment tribunial will only look at whether you followed the correct procedure, you didn't, ergo he has a case.

I suggest you send your MD on a HR course and get a lawyer and decent advice

I've got better things to do with my time than traipse up and down the path hunting for sticks with two dogs in tow.

we've got better things to do than moaning about the sh1t you feel it's socially acceptable to dump next to paths

    IME
the dog's IQ is higher than the owners

arguing with dog owners is pointless

their dogs "high spirits" is your trip to casualty

Finally; dogs should be banned from public parks, a lot of people don't like dogs, like them even less when the owner things it OK for them to run free and interfer with people trying to enjoy the space with their kids (and then usually scarper)

we had a pod which is similar to the bumbo

also used a Baby Bjorn whic is great for doing jobs whilst entertaining

ear plugs and the ability to mentally shut off crying help a lot ;)

don't use TV to entertain, and animated cartoons completely banned (watch what happens to the kid when you turn them on)

we tried a play area (prison) but she hated it. Just made the lounge safe and dumped her in the pod or on a rug wth one of those things with dangly bits

    but I'm a bad parent

the Sony is a good camera and is compatible with minolta AF lens'

so you can get a 1.8 50mm (digital 70mm (ish)) prime for buttons

I would get the A320 rather than the 200 as it has more toys

you should be OK as the tubing flares internally after about an inch (check wth your finger). I ran one with 17st of lard on it and it never failed.

if you know the original owner get it warranteed, most suffered from chainstay wear with the original tyres which prompted a exchange. The 2008 (cream)/9 (rootbeer) frames are essentially paragons and are very nice.

    sorry the OP is b*llocks

the scheme is looking to find an accepable replacement, no preferred design is being pushed and the likelihood is that in 5 years we will have reduced glassing stats and not know what all the bother was about

I listened to the designer get interviewed, don't see an issue other than why has it took so long to get to a good idea ike this

my understanding is that TillHill make not a lot on tree's so a "Landegla" type senario should appeal

personally I can't see the downside, the money wanted for matched funding would be spent on some other project so why not an mtb centre

hopefully is will be "raceable" and another opportunity for the "sport" side opens up

you could put a 1.5 headtube in and use one of the headtube devices created for iron horse bikes to play with the headtube angle but still using standard forks

    sorry, largest in England

4% is obviously hearsay, >10% down for maintenance/ repair is a matter of direct observation

it only has a 27% capacity factor to start with

I also doubt if the money for local environmental projects is going on anything other than a part time ecologist with no real money to spend if anything at all. How easily we gave up our common land!

    big_n_daft
    Free Member

alledgedly the largest UK landbased one is only pushing out 4% of its potential output as the cables are moving on the moor

that coupled with the >10% downtime for repairs/ servicing windfarms are never going to be competitive/ reliable enough to replace conventional means of generation

    Answers:problems
tidal power: buggers up the local environment/habitat

legislate on energy efficiency and force the power companies into innovative tariffing that penalises the wasteful:sends the power companies bust and will be socially inequitable (only rich people can afford energy efficient gadgets)

therefore its far better to keep putting up wind farms so that everyone can see we are doing something to combat "climate change" so they can sleep easy at night ;)

my understanding is that doping comes from 2 directions

performance, make you go faster etc
injury recovery, get you back competing asap which may lead to performance doping to get back to the level etc

I would suggest that without a sport having a proper testing regime in and out of competition with a enforced whereabouts system cannot be declared as "clean". Golf, football, rugby, tennis etc are deluding themselves/ deliberately not tackling the issue

I would also suggest that testing should be introduced/ targetted for teenagers competing at a decent level as sports such as football/tennis where kids develop quickly and the "pushy parent" is about.

I to read the Dwain Cambers statement and the statements in the public domian of the investigation into an athlete and came to the same conclusion. Winning with dopers/ athletes who miss testing destroys a sport from the inside, no amount of Gold medals are worth it. It's a shame that the athlete can afford to pay for lawyers more than the governing body
