It’s ace, but hurts big time! I returned to racing after a break of about 20 odd years, but the other guys had stuck at it and were bloody quick, still great fun. If you’re tall just make sure you have a bike with a long enough top tube or see some safety in a cruiser. Knee pads are a must.

For storing tools – tool board or tool box…?

I’m currently a tool box user, however I’m considering mounting the more commonly used tool on a board…

Thanks for the feedback, they’re current favorites. I like the idea of the switch hubs, I’m happy to do a bit of truing or get them trued by my LBS.

Speak to an insurance broker, they’ll be able to find full cover for you. Companies like Sterling will cover worldwide all risks & will cover multiple bikes without them being specified.

I have one as a work phone, really like it. Considering a move from my iPhone when my contract comes up.

Ordered a pair on Tuesday, store collection today. Got an email confirming everything OK. Got a text remind me to collect today. Then got an email this morning saying no front wheel.

Turn up at Halfords tonight, no rear wheel…. Showing on their system as picked and packed… The girl in the shop calls customer service, bit of a discussion then she passes the phone to me… The CS women tells me they don’t have any left, they’ve had stock issues etc…

So no bargain Hoops for me…

Thanks for the heads up on the Dawg, probably just too big in terms of travel.

Love it! A few of us had a session with Tony, great day, money well spent. Always makes me smile thinking about it. Whenever I ride now I hear Tony’s voice “head up”
I’m planning to go back in the spring, I need to get more jumping done.

Just trying to understand what options I have. I suspect I’ll probably go for the replacement, just wondering if there were any othe options.

Back again in a team of 4, feel knackered after a long week at work. Might have a nap before I head off.

Watching it now, really good, missed it all as I was a rave scene kid…

The best way I can explain my session with Tony and the way I ride before and after is like when I had my motorbike set up with on a dyno, it came out producing no more peak BHP but the power was delivered more smoothly across the rev range, my lap times dropped and I felt like i was riding more easily than I was before, so quicker & more confident with less effort.

I think that sums up me post Jedi’ing – faster, smoother, more confident with less effort, things just seem to flow..

Loved my session with Jedi, i learnt to jump again, for some reason I’d either lost confidence of just lost the technique, but a day with Tony and I was flying again. Can’t wait to go back next summer & learn more.

My mate bought one of those from CRC a month or so ago, it’s a lot of bike for the money, equipped with decent kit.
I’d buy one if I was in the market for a new hard tail.

I run a Majicshine on the front, usually at lowest setting but I do stick it on high near dark junctions and through the wooded sections on my commute. 2 led’s on the rear, one on my seatpost and one on my rucksack.

also have reflective tags hanging from my rucksack.

Commute year round, every day I’m in the office, usually miss 3 or 4 days a month when I’m out seeing clients.
Casual dress in the office so leave trainers there full time, usually take jeans/shorts in twice a week. Carry t-shirts/pants/socks everyday.
I wash my towel on a weekly basis, no showers so it’s a good old wash in the sink for me. Leave deodorant etc at work.
Shortest route – 6 miles each way, generally I push this out depending on how I’m feeling, weather etc.
Kit carried in a rucksack – tool kit, spare tubes, lightweight rain jacket. My rucksack is big enough to get my laptop and bits & bobs in if I need to head out the following day.
Bike – I use my single speed cross bike most of the time, proper mudguards fitted, if it’s dry I’ll take my MTB, I try and avoid getting muddy.

I park my bike against my desk so no need for a lock etc..
Already been mentioned, appropriate clothing is a must, I wear merino LS base layers for 2/3rds of the year, short or long sleeved tops in spring autumn, with shorts/or 3/4’ers.
Winter, merino base, winter bib longs, waterproof jacket, thermal cap under my helmet & Endura MT500 shoe covers. Gloves warm dry hands are a must!
It was pouring down here today, still rode the longer way in & home, I love it.

Always kept our cats in the garage overnight, a bed off the floor as suggested is a good idea, I had ours on a platform under my work bench so it was dark and they felt secure.

I’m in the same dilemma, due an upgrade on my phone from an iPhone 4 S to… I don’t fancy the iPhone 5, so I could go for the new Sony Xperia Z1 of the Nokia 925…

Will I miss my iPhone? I guess I will but that’s just a change I’ll get used to, the Sony looks good as does the Nokia… decisions, decisions..

Spesh 142+ actually moves the cassette out 2mm allowing for wider flange spacing, however these can be replaced with ‘standard’ 142mm rear hubs but the rear mech will need adjusted…

I’ve got 2 pairs of Supplest 1 road pair with the carbon soles and 1 MTB pair without carbon.
I find both pairs very comfy, my MTB one have seen me through a year of commuting, as well as the usual MTB outings, they’re still going strong.

I’d buy another pair, can’t comment on Evans service, they’ve always been OK. As for the shoes, I like them.

    In my rucksack,

    tube,
    tools,
    pump,
    rain jacket (lightweight)
    pass for work,
    work phone,
    my phone,
    wallet,
    towel,
    t-shirt,
    pants,
    keys,
    water bottle,

No lock as the bike get propped up against my desk & I leave shorts/jeans at work.

Some of the stranger things I’ve taken home in/on my rucksack include, a green plastic sledge – I looked like a ninja turtle and a new front wheel.

    How old is he?
If he’s a bit bigger & starts throwing it about it’ll snap at the rear and front of the deck. My 2 have both broken their cheap ones so have more expensive better quality ones now.

The ring is pretty large, I have a cameo in the film and have ridden the bike on the rollers. The ring comes pretty close to your calf.. 😯

If you have greasy oily hands from working on the bike, simply squirt them with WD40 or GT85, wipe with a clean rag & hey presto… clean hands.

I like the Zee’s but restricting him to a single chainring might be a bit harsh!

I was told they’d stopped doing 14″ Scandals which is an ideal frame for youngsters as it’s nice & light. The Inbred is a bit too heavy IMHO.
My 11 year old has been on a 14″ Scandal for a year or so and I’m moving his 9 year old brother onto it now. He’s moving up a size.

I’ve just moved his brother off a Trek 3700, that was their first experience of 26″ MTB’s – it’s up for sale if anyone’s interested!

    Isla bikes…
Can’t beat them, ideal until they can fit on a full sized bike, great re-sale value as well.
