No red spaceframes exist. Just a few green and a few black spaceframes (with truss fork). That lovely Red (there’s black too) is diamond frame and unicrown fork. It’s all short production runs really. Jeff doesn’t (yet) have the resources to produce lots of everything, in lots of colours.

A few words, like “more than last time” (!) but no specifics yet. It will be lots I think but I’ve had mine since 2004 and the pounds per mile/smile ‘value for money’ makes it a great deal, just that ‘big lump sum’ to clamber over :O)

This is a good thread – a fair few Jones riders explain things better than I do – all the various views are good. Now who was Bristol / South West and wanting a test ride? I’m going to be riding in the Quantocks on Friday 22nd so might well be able to accommodate a few people if they want a go on a steel Jones, and Bristol on the saturday might be workable. Post here or email biff@yesweareontheweb.com if you fancy. And I might well be hooking up with James in the FoD in late March.

Titanium space and diamond frames are ‘next’ for production, fyi. Charlie (tbm) knows. And Bothy.

Gotama – feel free to email me biff@yesweareontheweb.com
Might well be able to get to Surrey Hills for a ride.
If you can get to Sussex we can go ride.
Although even we’ve got damp at the moment. I can ride moist, damp is less fun.

I should do a North Downs demo day – that’s what the Pro’s do isn’t it?

    :O)

Jones Spaceframe certainly worth a test ride – you might want to bolt an extra three inches… to those wheels you have. See Charlie, he can help.

Peanut – I rode Dartmoor once, a long time ago. It was good. I’ve made a note.

Clink (and others) – AFAIK Jeff wants to do (more) Ti and lots more besides but Jones Bicycles is just Jeff (and Sheila – Mrs Jones) with no ‘big company’ behind the scenes. It’s all down to time, money and passion. Jeff has the latter in abundance, the other two are trickier.

Peanut – South Devon isn’t a regular stomping ground but how far are you from Swanage, Dorset? Charlie has a Jones for riding there. The next best option is an event/race where I (or another friendly Jones owner might be). I do get about though so will add South Devon to my list of places to take my bike and contact you if I’m heading that way.

Stoner – Jeff is due to report back on 100mm truss fork fitting. I’ll let you know. Surly’s blog has some dimensions over at http://surlybikes.com/blog/your_rabbit_hole_looks_knardy that should help.

Mattjg – a ride on the North Downs should be very possible. Saturday rather than sunday better for me, although week days doable too. Feel free to email me, biff@yesweareontheweb.com to sort something.

Yes – I’m importer. But not important. Knards are Surly thing so although Jeff has some in Oregon to test and fiddle with I’ve no notion of UK availability. But Charlie (CTBM) is linked in to their distribution channels so he’ll have a much better idea. He might be along in a bit, I might need to nudge him.

All this Jones talk. Tuppence from me… I’ve a test bike here in Sussex if it helps, and can get stuff to CTBM and Sideways and Bothy Bikes easily enough. I’m also happy to travel around meeting people for rides on their local trails on a Jones so they can really test things. They ride good.

And big hello to Kenny :O)

The Outcast will be there – SSUK 12.

And will do something with Charlie in Dorset at some point.

Hi Andy – thanks for the coffee.
Yes – a man lent me a wheel and saved my race/day/year. Forever grateful.
Aeroplane noises – of course. I was loving it.

Well done to everybody. Organisers and supporters especially.

I’ve got a shonky bit if that’s what you mean.

Only Titec J-bars in the cupboard at the moment.
Jones stuff start of next month.
Anyone can find me with biff@yesweareontheweb.com
Outcast #25 has commenced. Shonk on.

Local paper and flyers a good option I reckon. PO Box or just buy a cheap PAYG phone and give that number out for any information. Is a fifty quid reward enough to have thieves shop each other? The more (local) people who know a rare bike was stolen (they don't need to know its value) the better. Check with Jeff but I'd guess there are no more than six or so of your kind of bike in the UK? I reckon fencing rare stuff must be something thieves would rather avoid surely so get the message out there that it's unique – and they may as well drop it back in your garden at 3am. And if it's international/out-of-town professionals then let's hope the internet catches up with them. I appreciate prosecution and recovery is the ideal outcome but just getting the bike back would work for me.

Phil – I don't think I can do anything to help but I'll be on the look out down this part of the country. The only way they are going to sell a Jones to someone who knows what they are buying is to be a long way from the UK (where Jones owners are few and friendly) and to someone who doesn't care it is stolen. Looking at your picture it looks likes you've got Jeff's modified Rohloff chainguide on there too – I'd suggest you look out for those kind of things being offered for sale. They might well have to dump the frame so try a 'give me my frame back no questions asked' appeal as a last resort? If you think I can help at all do feel free to email me. I tore a calf muscle on the weekend and I think your pain is worse.

Just for the record I do have Titec no-rise H-bars available.
    ++++
Not selling my Jones bicycle :O)
And Jeff is offering framesets beyond the current ‘Merlin Jones’ options.
