My son, now aged 18, has had a diagnosis of Dyspraxia since he was 5. He had a lot of trouble with speech (making the necassary sounds to form words due to lack of coordination between lips and tongue) so he underwent a lot of speech therapy as a young child. Out of this, and various other issues, came the Dyspraxia diagnosis.

If you would like to know more about my/his experience please feel free to email me. Email in profile.

Actually, Footflaps, did you do the install yourself? Was it relatively easy?

Thank you for you help all.

IA, the SSD I have purchased is a 6Gbps one. Am I right in thinking that which ever drive space I put it in it will limit the speed to 3gbps due to the age of my MBP?

Brilliant ad campaign. I’m like putty in their hands and now own 7 Tudor watches. Genius. And I can’t tell you how good I look in the wet suit.

I wouldn’t bother with bar tape, just get some quality mitts to wear.

I would pay attention to your bottle cages, they really do need to be able to grip the bottles or you will be shedding them along the way.

Pay a lot of attention to getting the tyre pressures right for your weight. You need them to be as low as possible without pinch flatting.

Try not to be too close to the rider in front as you hit the cobble sections. Most of the accidents I have seen (I’ve ridden it 3 times) are by being taken out by an inexperienced rider crashing or breaking in front.

Wish I was riding again this year!

You just need the Sonos units you consider appropriate for the house to play the music on iTunes. I use 2x Sonos 1’s in stereo in the kitchen and 2 x Sonos 3 in stereo in the lounge.

It will get more complicated to play the CD collection. Personally I would just rip them all to iTunes but someone with better ears than me will be along soon enough to tell you that you mustn’t do that!

    BearN. Yawn.

SharkB. I guess I should have but I’ve asked them to do it now.

AndyL. Thanks. As far as I know it is just an annual service. I would expect them to advise if doing “extras” (cam belt, discs, pads, etc)

Kuco. Did you stop using main dealer after 3 years?

    Get over yourself.

Discipline is good, even at an early age. I used to get my pudding withheld if I didn’t finish my main course.

I’m not sure I would go for a kebab or a tattoo at this particular venue.

I’ve got a Mk1 1.8 red Eunos sitting in my garage that I really should do something with. It was my pride and joy before my latest car arrived and I could not bring myself to part with it but I could do with the space right now.

Email me if it is of any interest to you.

A good point to consider Crewlie, and it certainly has crossed my mind; but I’m not sure how likely EU exit is in my lifetime.

Obviously the health concerns are huge too but we are in pretty good health, and as I’m only 53 and Mrs BB is 47 we should have a fw good years left in us. I suppose if things did go badly we could move back as we will still have a UK base should we need it.

That’s a good way of putting it jerseychaz, “an itch that needs scratching”. We nearly bought there before we had children but one thing and another it didn’t work out, so 20 years later heading over for our retirement looks like a good idea.

We are fortunate that we would retain a property in the UK, at least in the short term.

Thanks for the heads up to The Connexion, I’d not heard of that before.

HR? Really? You must all be very low down in your Co food chain if you still have to involve yourself with the HR dept.

I thought you were all high fliers.

For the best Apple Pie (a local dish that is well worth trying) in Amsterdam go to Wilken 43. A wonderful place to hang out on a Sunday (or any other for that matter) morning.

Be sure to arrive early. It is actually within easy reach of the Anne Frank Museum so maybe before or after your visit?

Wow! Thanks everyone. I had no idea that I would get so many suggestions. The ones that I have listened to so far have been great.

Moving on slightly; what do you listen to if you want to lift your mood? You know, when you’re feeling a bit low, you put on your favourite piece, play it through, and by the end your world seems a slightly better place.

    Anyone?

Thank you everyone so far. I am working my way through the lists as I type. I have to say i am really enjoying Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No 2.

I will try The Lark Ascending when I return from this morning’s spin.

    I remember those days…

If I have read your post correctly “I remember those days” too. But with a 17 and a 19 year old I now have mornings to myself.

Thank you every one. We elected for a birthday pint or two in The Deansgate then a short walk to Akbar. Akbar was wonderful. Really. The walk back to the hotel was proper wet. Truly authentic.

Yep. I’m up, a quick coffee then out the door for a 90 min road ride before work. It looks very cold and wet out there.

Not a hater at all. I waited for as long as I could to try to talk to the rider but unfortunately he/she did not return before I had to get away.

I’ve always quite like the eccentric and quirky fabrications (bike or otherwise) that people cobble together in their sheds.

That said, I wouldn’t want a rusty old chain like that flying around near my crown jewels!

I had held off going to Jamies Italian in Norwich as there are several other small independent Italian restaurants in Norwich. However a couple of weeks ago some friends wanted to go so we booked a table.

It was an awful experience. We turned up for our booking on time but were told that we would have to wait for about 30 mins by a really arrogant restaurant manager. He made it quite clear that he didn’t want to be there and he didn’t want us there either!

We left, and went to a local Italian family owned restaurant. It was wonderful.

i will have to be very hungry before I consider giving Jamie’s another go.

I thought that £7 an hr, paid in cash would be reasonable. We would supply all products and equipment. Sort of inline with GeoffJ I guess.

I wouldn’t wear team kit or tour jerseys myself but each to their own I guess. That said I do feel that the World Champions and National Champions jerseys should only be worn by the person who has won it.
