Do it quite regularly in one form or another. Always wave to the squaddies at the top of the widowmaker and bottom of the scout hut.

It was in my kitchen. No sign of it this morning so hopefully it’s found somewhere else to live.

It disappeared pretty quickly once it realised it was having its photo taken. I’ll keep an eye out for it as we have a toddler and he’s fascinated by bugs.

I think I had been running the tyre too soft. I dont have a pressure gauge so have always pumped them up until they’re hard. Ironically before the last ride I did on them on tuesday I used my mates track pump to increase the pressure up to 40 psi (Continental recommend 50) and they felt much better.

Are the sidewalls on these tyres particularly delicate as there seem of be threads showing all the way around the tyre?

Of course it could also be a sign that you need to improve your skills to stop (not) bouncing off sharp rocks.

Could be but I’ve been riding the same rocks for ten years and this is my first damaged sidewall

It was indeed a Racesport one. Think I’ll just put it down to bad luck but go back to Spesh tyres

I was really happy with the performance, I guess I’m just gutted that that’s £40 down the drain after just a few weeks. I realise that sh*t happens, just seems to be happening a lot lately 😕

It’s a Rubber Queen 2.2 Black chilli. Have been using Specialized tyres on exactly the same trails for two years and have never let me down.

Thanks for the replies so far. Although I’ve ridden Brechfa a few times I’ve never ridden the Raven trail (or any other black trail). I’ve heard it’s not great after a lot of rain, is it worth a try or stick with the other two trails?

I had a quick go on a mate’s bike this morning running the Pacestars and was quite surprised how well they rolled.

Thanks but they only have super gravity Pacestar in 26 inch which I presume are a fair bit heavier.

Thanks Swiss, would you say they look small enough to use on the helmet?

    Thanks W1zard, that looks great.

Gunz, I live in a village on the northern edge of Plymouth and start a lot of rides from around Burrator reservoir. We’ve done a few rides from Yelverton down the Walkham Valley which is also well worth a look.

Took the family to the Plymouth Skyride this afternoon. Hired a trailer for jr BGD and he loved it despite the drizzle.

Had the same concern before Christmas when I bought a 591 to take my Camber to Wales. I put a piece of inner tube between the frame and the cables / hose for a bit of cushioning and found they sit in the ‘v’ of the clamp nicely. Did the clamp up nice and tight and had absolutely no problems after 4 hours up the M5 and M4. Hope that helps.

Mrs BGD is just coming to the end of a bout of whooping cough. She’s had it about 6 weeks but the coughing has decreased a lot the last week or so.

I’m 6’4, about 180 pounds and ride a Specialized Camber. I don’t do anything too gnar but would rather have a wheel that is slightly stronger than I really need as long as the weight isn’t a lot more.

Is there much of a weight difference? I’m struggling to find weights listed anywhere.

The Stans rim options are Crest or Flow. Otherwise it’s Mavic 717, 521, 721 or DT XR400 or EX500.

Plenty of holes but much easier to get some brakes and a seat post past the Mrs than a whole bike 😕

Just out of curiosity how long do these Germany sites take to deliver?

Cheers guys. I’m away on Saturday for a week but will be in touch when I’m back. Might be able to sneak out for an hour or so tomorrow night if anyone’s interested.

I’ve just got an Otterbox Commuter case for mine as I was impressed with the one I had on my iphone. Fits really well and seems pretty tough, would definitely recommend it.
Will see how tough it really is when this bloody phone gets launched out the upstairs window – I want my iphone back 🙁

Ok thanks will do. Still going to try a support for now as I could do with something to help even just for walking the dog etc.

Mostly along the left side of the knee, sometimes at the bottom

It was diagnosed by my doctor. I’ve always had problems with the knee but have spent the last 6 weeks with it clicking and clunking and quite a lot of pain.

That’s brilliant. BGD jr is only 11 months old but can’t wait to get him his first bike.
