I did the Dothie Valley loop a couple of years ago in a dry spell and it was pretty soggy then!
Waiting to hear if Nant y Arian trails are open, if so might just head up there for a day.

That’s what I saw, but NRW websites for each centre say the trails are shut. If all else fails I’ll head up to Brechfa and have a look.

Thanks FD, looks ideal for the price and a hedge trimmer to match.

Usually take a trip to Brechfa while I’m here but definitely all shut at the moment.
Might see what the weathers like in the morning and go from there.

OK, no problem. All work fine, had very little use really. Will give you a shout when I’ve got it all sorted.

Thanks for that. I presume front mech too? Would the original cassette still be OK?

Definitely nothing political. I just want components that work well, are reliable and don’t cost the earth when they do need replacing. I have been happy with SRAM, but it’s looking like Shimano is the way ahead.

    Thanks for all the info.

Had the same issue and thought it was just me as SRAM rear mechs seem to be tormenting me lately.
Turned the top jockey wheel around thinking they were directional and it worked for a while. Then started again out of the blue when it all must have become misaligned again.

I’ll persevere and see if it beds in over a couple of rides.

Starting to lose the love for SRAM and close to making the move back to Shimano.

I contacted Cotic, who said it’s borderline but may be OK with a slightly longer stem than they would normally suggest.

I had the titanium grey, but can’t seem to find another in large and not keen on any of the others colours.

    Thanks for the replies.

I’m thinking it must have been something like that.  After spending most of last night fighting and preparing the brake for the bin, I’ve tried again tonight and all is fine.

Does anyone else find that the bite point adjuster works the opposite way round from the direction of the arrow?

The mount is like this one and just clips Into a recess  built into the helmet. I use an Exposure helmet light and like the conveience of being able to remove the mount quickly.

I’ll check out the Bell also.

Sorry tdog, I’m a bit new to all this (also not in the best of moods) and didn’t realise a crime ref would be any use to anyone. Ref is 103848/17.
Thanks again to everyone for help and support.

It did have a life line bottle cage, ODI Rogue (or Ruffian grips), slightly tatty Charge Spoon saddle. Frame was Invisiframed. There would have been Garmin and Exposure mounts on the bars. Maxxis Shorty front and DHR2 rear.

The garage is detached from the house, only separated by a narrow walkway. The police did ask if they gained access through the house and when I said no thats when they seemed to lose interest.

They came in through the side gate and then the side door of the garage which is right next to our back door. They must have been super quiet as we were up a lot with a poorly little one and also two dogs that didn’t even twitch.

As a bit of a newbie to all this, how likely is it to expect a discount off the screen price as well as a reasonable part ex amount? Or does the part ex cancel out any other reductions?

Was really looking forward to buying my first nearly new car but now it’s come to it I’m not so sure lol.

Thanks all. The cars I’m looking at are less than a year old from main dealers. Haven’t bought from a dealer before so a little nervous about covering every aspect of the deal so there are no little surprises on collection.

Definitely some food for thought. Starting to be swayed towards the petrol VRS, just need to arrange some test drives now.

Have been driving a 57 plate diesel Hyundai Tucson for the past 6 years so looking forward to something a little more spritely!

A lot of the guys I ride with start fast and don’t seem to fade, whereas it takes me a while to warm up and find myself falling back towards the end of the ride.

As a complete road novice, what’s the etiquette for racing on Zwift? Is it just a matter of turning up and hanging on?

Thanks for the replies. I guess I’m really looking to improve my strength in order to keep up with the maniacs I ride with every week on two to three hour rides.
Just want to make the most of the limited time I have on the trainer.

Can anyone offer advice on removing the piston head? Even with the proper shaft clamp in a vice no matter what I do the shaft just turns as I try to undo bolt.
I’ve tried inner tube, heating around the threads and also soaking it in hot water all to no avail.
Toys are about to get thrown
