’94 RS Quadra 10 here (still in regular use!). Opened it up once to have a look inside but never serviced (probably not a lot to be serviced, anyway).

    Do I win?

Ditch it – it has no place in modern living! 😀

I’ve had a halfords one for a bout 15 years still going strong after a lot of abuse and being kept outside in all weathers.

Watched on demand last nast – agree in that it could have been longer – was over far too quickly. Love stuff like this – even BF junior peered over his tablet occasionally to have a peek.

Not worth getting a shoeing (or worse) over some property

    This… just don’t.

Wifes friends husband was murdered by the guys he chased one night. They stabbed him in the head with the same screwdriver they were using to steal his father in laws car.

Would seriously think twice about confronting anybody (however hard you are) especially if it was a garage or shed/outbuilding.

If its a 9mm youre after – swap for a 10mm (I had 2 snap on me after installing an Ultra free hub and was advised by SS to fit a 10mm).
If its a 10mm one youre after, I recently got one of these from amazon
(Waited over a year for superstar one and still not in stock)

    Linky

It does the job – and hasnt snapped yet! 😉

    Square and Compass

Oooh… Brings back memories of holidays in Dorset past..

Going back again this summer for the first time in 15 years… cant wait.

Not camping though…so not much help!

We stayed in Dunshay Manor and I seem to remember there being a campsite adjacent on Downshay farm. Couldnt say what it was like though. 🙂

Nothing… dont like the idea of being tied to one company, even if i was offered the same amount of money (which wouldn’t happen).
Never been anything other than PAYE/self-employed so dont know what its like to have paid holiday!

    Fly,fly,fly!

Its just easy – Get yourself a bike bag with wheels on (although you don’t have to take it that far from car to check-in) and let somebody else do the driving/flying. Would possibly consider driving if I lived on south coast but having to battle through UK traffic doesnt appeal to me. We get picked up at other end by owner of chalet.
Never known any of my fellow riders have damage to bikes during transit.

All ~Atkins does is reduce the total calories you eat and give you an extremely unhealthy diet

Pah… I probably eat more calories than i do when not ‘doing the atkins’
Not really about calories is it. When I first started the diet a few years back meals were the same size as i was eating before – just a lot more veg replacing the spuds (etc) and a lot more (good quality) meat. I
I lost 3 stone the first time i did it and have plateaued now…. I have small amounts of carbs these days – obviously, like any other diet, if I started eating the way I did before… I’d be a fatty again.

thats a disaster waiting to happen

    – thought as much myself. But apparently they’ll do a structural survey first and there’s a 10 year warranty.

We too need to do something with ours. Everest wanted £25k to replace the Upvc and glazing only! (re-using the existing stub walls)

What about something like this: Clicky[/url]

Dont know how much it would be, but sent off for a quote for my 4m x 3m conservatory.

Not in the house/garden, but this one is my favourite. Up on a local moor, views for miles. Little plaque says “It’ll be right”

    Looks familiar…..Norland Trig point, perchance?

Ours maintain their garden immaculately showing up our half assed efforts.

Mine got so bored of the plants out the front of our house dying she started watering them for us.

This and this…. were hoping they’ll sort out our front lawn too, whilst were at work.

    I hate old people 😉

There is a bit of climbing involved but well worth it. Did you get lost at all or was the route okay to follow?

Yes.. a good bit of climbing but fairly steady away.
Didnt get lost at all… plotted route on strava before I set off 😉

Update…. did the Bakewell to Eyam route last thursday (many thanks to Jekkyl!).
Brilliant little route (not that little really – 19 miles is a bit over my usual!). Loved the descent down the valley (just after the quarry) and the descents from Eyam down to Stoney Middleton (second section nearly had me off!).
Thanks again – would definitely recommend if you’re in the area 😀

Cabinets or a cabin? A cabin is probably worth a fair bit.

If its a cabin it would make a cracking garden shed/workshop! 😉

EE are robbing bastids when roaming

I’m on EE and can use my contract minutes and texts for no extra charge whilst abroad (and 500mb of data for nowt – not much, but it is free!)

Kids are on 3 PAYG – very reasonable and usable abroad for no extra charge.

If the cabinets have got any NOKIA Flexi modules in, you’ll probably get something on ebay! If theres any old 2G gubbins that will be worthless. If theres any more modern Huawei 2G/4G kit this is still in use and someone might pay for it!
    You never know …..

Edit. I you have any Feeders (cables that run from cabinets to antenna) theyre full of copper!

I’ve snapped the ‘ball’ bit off of the bone.

I did similar (self-inflicted radial head shattered) and was out out of action for 8 weeks (also self employed 😯 ) and off the bike for a lot longer!
