I will say I’m liking the idea of a ’tischer camper’ though

Home brew T5 conversion, used as a daily drive. Apart from the electrics all my stuff is removable in 30 mins (kitchen pod & rear bed (folds out over rear seats) All done on a tight budget. Just had 3 weeks in france and it works a treat for us.

Brentacre do mine T5, homebrew day van/camper nice chaps, reasonably priced and let me modify the van from kombi to camper with no additional. My renewal this year was actually lower than last year which is a novelty.
Got a quote from HIC this year as well which was decent (brentacre beat it though)

Great Uncle (Sydney Bell) 626 squadron N, fl/sgt (pilot) Lancasters died in July 1945 on a training run from Wickenby briefed to fly at 2000ft. Ran into a thunderstorm and crashed at 1.55am at Wharram le street. Think it was a lightening strike.

Some people do make me chuckle, I do wonder if they actually believe the rubbish they type….anyway thanks all for any recommendations much appreciated

Bernard – everything I typed is factually true

    oh really

No helmet. Teaches them to ride within their limits and how to fall off more carefully.

How has that been proven? I would guess at no point during riding his bike does my son think, I know I can ride down this steep hill….it’s ok if I fall I have a helmet on

Helmets have been proven to be pointless.

Proven beyond doubt has it, well prove it to me then I would be interested to hear the evidence

I’d also worry about rotational injury with a child of 5 with such a large head

Why? you have no idea how big the rest of him is, so what has his head size to do with it? (in actual fact he is in perfect proportion)so why is he at risk due to his head size?

In actual fact, you have not stated any facts just opinion .. please see my earlier post with regard my thoughts on your opinion and it’s origin.

Go on then I will bite, there is an orifice you are talking out of and it’s not your mouth.

local club does micros for age 4-5 (lots of running about etc) I ended up helping out with the training. No pressure was put on my eldest at 4 when he started and he enjoyed it, missed the odd week when the weather was bad or he was particularly tired. At 6 they start playing tag

So if a nanny was found to be abusing the kids and you had filmed it by hidden camera you could claim it is in the public interest to expose a nanny who could go on to carry out further abuse

    bernard

If it is illegal (I have no idea whether it is or not) how come none of the hidden camera journo’s or the recently exposed nursing home hidden camera exposers have been prosecuted/sued?

If I was in the OP’s position I would, but for a different reason, even if I thought I could trust her I’d run the nanny cam then I would know if I could trust her.

Sandal is a decent area good road links and cheaper than N Leeds. Train station is Agbrigg, 15 mins walk from Sandal proper. There are local trails about that might entertain for a couple of hours but you would have to drive to get a bit of decent mtb, peaks about 45 mins, Dalby about an hour and a half.

Darton, Fitzwilliam, Pontecarlo would not be for me (well were not when I migrated from London) the bit’s mentioned by Andydicko crig & durkar you would have to drive to the station (busy car park and not somewhere I would leave my car)

I’d never thought of the road map … daft really since most of it is on the road. Good idea that…would limit the os type maps I need to the couple of off road bits.

does it matter that they are not the same manufacture and have a differnt load rating (I think the contis are 107 those are 103)

    bernard

tried both of them, apparently it’s an odd size and more often a size fitted to a van no one has any idea what to do other than order new ones and wait 4-6weeks. Problem is I dont like the idea of driving my kids around with tyres that are borderline illegal as the weather get’s worse

are you actually going to ride it or let it collect dust like the Langster, a pink shopper with a basket would match your riding style

That’s certainly comprehensive and probably quite useful advise. Where are all the ‘ride your bike more’ ‘look at mucky pictures on the t’interweb’ etc sort of suggestions.

I have a collegue who bought a similar house recently, that was built to building regs…you can literally hear their neighbours fart. As an example the house layouts were mirrored so in each property the sockets back to back. When you have a single skin party wall and recess two 35mm back boxes into it the acoustic properties suffer. You can hear the nighbours when they switch sockets on and off……

There are some important rooms there that are the boundry between you and the neighbours……dont know the spec of the house but experience tell’s me it’s worth checking out the acoustic properties of the party wall. If you get neighbours that are less than condiserate you may have issues…

With all the comments about the older child walking etc the P&T is good because it is flexible and can be used as a single. Dont know if any of the side by side ones can?

M_F I was going to mention I’ve had the P&T in the boot of a clio….

Just a point of note on M F’s comments the phil & teds is well balanced as a double (for kerbs) better than the single buggy we had previously.
