Try half fat first. I love it, but can’t justify a full fat, due to living nowhere near any sand/beaches and snow is a rarity.
Inbred would be a good starter, and strangely enough I have a frame for sale :P

Have had a couple of quick spins on a fat front Swift, and originally built my old Kona Unit up with the fat front.
I couldn’t get it out of my head though that the back wheel/tyre on the fat front 29er is bigger that the front and it looks weird. Even through my warped eyes.
Still, built up the trusty Sovereign as a fat front and love it.
    No issues with sluggishness either.
    Fast as in fact

No it’s all rider, not this marketing bollox that your all falling for
Bet he had new bike legs
I was 10 minutes faster today on my local loop on the fat front than I was on my old 29er

Unless the blocking has been done on a public byway etc, you’d have to catch them in the act or have evidence etc
As most of the trails round by me are just trails in the woods that have been made by walkers/deer/bikes and not local authority/land owners, liability would be the issue
As the log man operates in the woods where the logs are already, proving it beyond all reasonable doubt criminally would be hard.
Civily on the balance o probability would be easier, but you still gotta catch him.
So ‘does the logman exist’?? Or are they of biking myth

    Anybody have evidence?
Also probably the most sensible post I’ve ever done…..

I remember taking the wife to see Dog Soldiers and at the start in the tent bit, she said ‘What the hell have you bought me to see’

Does anyone remenber armchair thriller, where the shadow sits down in the chair. Brilliant.
I remember seeing an episode called ‘As quite as a nun’ about the Borley Rectory ghost.
As a 10 ten old I proper Sh1t my pants.
Also Hammer house of Horror’s children of the full moon will stay with me forever

I did it with an Evil Soveriegn.
I made some custom rear dropouts based on the 26″ sliding drop outs with the frame only 30mm longer.
Yes the BB was higher, but it ride well.
I was previously riding it as a 69er and put the 26″ rear wheel back in recently as I sliced my 29er rear tyre.
It has stayed like that since

I have a ss rigid 69er which is ridden 90% of the time. I also have a geared 26″ full suss for the day I eventually get to go to the Alps.
It all depends where you ride ultimately, but for local stuff and trail centres such as Cannock, Swinley, llandegla FOD there is nothing better than a singlespeed. All IMO of course

Riding a singlespeed also allows entry to uber niche events ;)

Horses for courses. What sort of riding do you do IMHO I find 26″ better for the rocky stuff and 29″ for the flowy
Maybe it’s just because I’ve pringled my 29er wheels on rocks
As said it’s a bike enjoy it for what it is and not what folk on here say what you should ride because of the size of the wheels

I can’t get used to seeing 29ers with gears, and suspension after years of SS Rigiding.
But then again the only place I have taste is in my mouth, and with women obviously

    My lastest

Nice vid that. I have only recently started riding Cannock Chase again.
It gets slated, but with what they have, its a pretty good place to ride

I commute 4 days a week on a SS Rigid 29er, but sometimes I go on the 140mm FS.
It makes the stairs and the subways a little more interesting.
Add a couple of laps in the woods on the way, if you have any

The idea of the thread was to see what others has their bikes done with pics.
The frame is currently White with White forks, so fancied something different
At the moment it down to yellow or black, but after today’s ride on the full susser it may be for sale as I can’t justify a full suss, a LT hardtail (frame) and a 29er
Thanks for the colour opinions, even if you didn’t like this sort of thread (no offence)

    In a word yes. I am 6’2″ with a 32″ inside leg and I found a 19″ too big
In the end I went for an older 18″
20″ would be like a gate. IMO that is

Yes it would. Didn’t think of that doh!
IF I do it it would mean drill ing top tube near the head tube and the seat tube, so I won’t bother.
Just another hairbrained idea of mine

I rode my full suss with gears today, after months of SS rigiding.
It felt wrong. I said to myself, it’ll be fine on the way home.
    Wrong.

I’ll have to stick with it for the weekend, but its by far my favourite over the FS

BTW. You are now a god :D

Had one. Did the Dragon ride, LEJOG for Charideee and the Cat and Fiddle.
Since then commuted twice and suddenly couldn’t stand the thing.
