I use Strava as a guide for myself and a log of my mileage
However I find if frustrating that on segments that you have done in the morning won’t get picked up in the evening. When you know you have put in a better time.

As for cheating that’s easy. Turn it on in the car, or on the train as the KOM over a railway bridge by me with steps and switchback ramps did it at 75mph :0/

I currently have a Yeti 575 frame hanging in the garage ready for the Alps in August
Took it to Antur Stiniog and not used it ever since
Currently the harder trail bike is a Chumba HX1 with 150mm forks
Don’t miss the FS and it will be going after the Alps trip
Currently the regular bike is the fat front singlespeed and the new rigid 29er is under construction
But still not convinced 29er is for me

So after all that the FS is going. Hardtail all the way

I will prolly go as I loved the originals, I normally would not but seeing as the original director Sam Raimi is doing it

I remember seeing the original along with An American werewolf in London one Friday night as a 13yr old whilst fumbling in the throws of teenage romance. And then having to walk home through the pitch black park, when the clouds parted to release the full moon……….
I got home quick that night I tell thee

    Do you have one?
If you don’t, try one, then maybe you’ll see why a lot of folk ride them
Yes they will never be the best looking bike but the ride overrides that looks in my humble opinion
I have had 29ers, but always seem to return to my 69er

Now orange with a fat front, so technically still a 69er

I ran an inbred as a rigid 69er and couldn’t get on with it, but I run my Evil Sovereign as a rigid 69er and that feels great
    Weird

My commute is 60% off road and I actually enjoy the early morning commute
Although the way home is a different story
I think overbiking combined with my insomnia isn’t helping
I will have couple of weeks off the commute to start with I think until the better weather returns, maybe

    Cheers for the replies.
I think that the road bike will go whatever the out come.
Gonna try a big ride tomorrow in Wales, see how I goes.
If not will have a few weeks off and try again
    Cheers

I run my sovereign as a 69er on occasion singlespeed rigid
Probably my favourite incarnation of the bike. Handles Cannock and the Forest of Dean without issue

Try it with a tensioner if its your first dabble into the light of ss’ing
As said some shorter chainring bolts and a bmx chain
Then once you have the ss bug change the frame to one with ss specific dropouts or a ebb as its a lot neater
Especially when your tensioner gives out

Do I want a Jones? Yes
    Space frame? No
    Diamond? Yes
    Can I afford it? No

On that basis I ride my bike with a fat front and one gear
Does it make me smile? Yes
I also have a bike with bounce and gears
Does that make me smile? Yes

Do I care what others think of what I ride? No
If folk like a particular bike make and can afford it. Fine

When you put the shim in the seat tube, tap a little over the top so it doesn’t slip down.
The seat clamp will hold it in position.
I did it on an old Mongoose frame

I had offset bushings on my old Titus FTM and have the Burgtec ones on my 575.
Best thing I have ever done IMO

BTW the e bay ones don’t stock all they say and you have to pay before they tell you that, hence the faff of a refund.
    Burgtec are much nicer people

Also what riding is it for?
I find my 26″ full suss better for rockier/Techy stuff, but I also like my 29ers rigid with no gears.
    Try if you can
