Cannock Chase was like concrete this morning. SS not an issue, just the frozen ruts that have been made in the mud. They tend to choose your line for you.

    Thanks guys, gonna leave it.
Not worth the two hours drive only to find it snowed out.

    Have a good un Rob.

Will have a mince round Cannock Chase instead.

I did it before 18 months ago and was on crutches for 2 weeks.
This time the pain was worse, just it seems to be healing quicker.
Might be something to do with eating Ibroprufen like smarties though.

    Cheers guys

Had an ASR and now a 575.
Top bikes, although not that keen on the new 575. Yes I have ridden one.

Gore doesn't do it for me i.e Saw etc.
But remember watching The Changling when I was a yoof. Not the one with Angelina Jolie, the one with George C Scott.
The bit when the wheelchair moves on its own at the bottom of the stairs still makes my legs go cold.
Anything else with religious undertones like the Exorcist or Omen films anyways get my vote too.

I use 33/13 on a 12m commute, with 2.3 slicks. Not too spinny either.

Had 130mm Recons on my Voodoo Wanga without issue.
Currently running 120mm Magura Phaon's on it, again without issue.

In fact I actually preferred it with the 130's on it.

I can't get on with them. Or any Conti tyre really.
I have a 3 rides old pair going spare, for postage costs.

Everyday. 12m to work and 12m back that can be varied to be mostly road or around 75% off road. Tend to stick to the roads and cyclepaths during the winter though due to getting everything too sh1tted up everyday.
Then an off road mid week and on at the weekend.

I have been out with the Godiva Trailriders a couple of times recently. Nice bunch with a relaxed, varied bunch of riders. Some half decent trails nearby. Not much in the way of downhilling though.

Voodoo Wanga. I run mine with 130mm, but sure it would be fine with 140’s
Also ran it rigid too. Until my shoulder started playing up.

Sorry about 2nd pic, phone camera at dusk.

I used mine to train for riding Lands end to John O'Groats and found that it helped no end.
To start it was a bit boring just listening to music so now I take the laptop into the garage and watch DVD's.
Also you can get out of the saddle to vary the position.
I will be using mine during the dark winter nights, unless I am night riding that is.8)

Unfortunatley the trails this year have yaken their toll on the paintwork with some nice deep stone chips, so it needs doing.
Will have a word with Argos and see what they can do re team colour designs.

I have to agree that the black is favourite at the moment, and agree that it is a bugger to keep clean as my commuter is satin black.
As for the bare metal finish, hmmmmm.

Road biking is good and all. I have just completed Lands End to John O'Groats for Charidee and by the time I had finished the bike had doubled in weight from road kill. After 10 days in the saddle it lost its appeal.
However I found it great for training and even bought a turbo trainer. This in effect has bettered my fitness for mtb'ing.
On the trip I found myself loking longingly at the hill and especially when passing the Nevis range.

Right just out for a ahem road ride.

Milt, was you in the group with the few Yeti's?
I was in the other group around that time. I was on the old style 575.

Anyhow, other that some of the boardwalk having overhanding foliage and a few puddles it was excellent. Saw 1 other biker the whole time we were out there.
    My favourite Welsh trail.

But that is very very tasty
