I feel your pain. I came off on the commute the other week.
Front end when on the wooden path edging, that was covered by leaves.
Initially it was my thumb, but it has now turned into a dull ache just below my right elbow.
I went out on the geared bike and had to change gear with the heel of my palm as my thumb wouldn’t work.

I have no pain whilst riding, just lifting stuff.
SS for me then for a bit.

Anything around Symonds Yat? Used to go climbing there back in the day and thought about it as I passed on the way to Wales that it is full of potential.

I have had a Wanga and always regretted getting rid.

Trouble is getting a new frame nowadays.
It will be going through the LBS,and they can get hold of most things so will have to ask when I get the all clear from the insurance, although they do have a nice Rocky mountain Vertex in……..

The entry in between my mates house and mine. It was so dark that I used to leg it the 20 yards from mine to his and vice versa.
Now I go and play in the dark on me bike.

As for TV a Nationwide programme where a woman finds stones in her garden and strange things happen in her house inc a hairy man like creature.
They stopped when she re buried them.

I commute 10 miles each way every day on the SS. I have found that by running 32/14 with off road tyres on was a great training aid for my lejog last year.
I keep the the off road tyres on so that when the boss allows an early finish I can extend the commute to teke in the woods.
My commute also goes through the city centre on the way in with subways and stairs which road tyres dont like much.

    Actually, its Watergate Bay.

Gonna go for the 32/14 as the bike is for local North Warwickshire stuff, which doesn’t really have steep stuff and for commuting.

    Very nice Love/hate BTW

There are some half decent trails in the woods, but I was shown them and would struggle to find them again.
As you climb the fire road to the glider club, keep an eye out, as there are entrances that head back down to the same fireroad that are quite interesting

Mollski, currently got a slotted On-one Scandal.
Did have it rigid, but put suss forks on for my holiday and have not took them off.

I have a 18t and a 16t on the rear. Takes 5 mins to swap and doesn’t change the chain line too much either.

The path from Pole Cott to Little Stretton has been upgraded to a BW for Ride UK horse trails.

    One of my faves

I am sure someone will be along with a reason for running 29ers as SS, but for me I just like it that way.

Got a 29er SS having gone from 26er SS, as well as having the full bouncer with gears.

Love the 29er, but still on the look out for a 26er frame so I can build up another 26er rigid SS HT

Got a 29er Scandal and love it. Ran it with carbon rigid forks at 23lb, but stuck 80mm front suss on it and it rides a dream.
    Running it 32/16 singlespeed to.

I use it 9 out of 10 times over my bouncer.

Did Dalby in the p1ssing rain and mist.
Still not convinced it was worth the 3 hour drive though.

Was there yesterday. Did the new black on first lap and the original black on the 2nd. There is one small section that is closed, but the diversion doesn't spoil it.
Some people slag it, but it is a nice fast, no brainer trail.

Tis right about the scally's nicking bikes there though. Take a lock if you leaving your bike by the cafe or on your car.

Saw the local big cat. Heading over the local stuff called 'The Wedge' by me, I turned to see the biggest pair of green eyes reflecting back about 50ft from me.
It then bound off and whatever it was it was 'kin big. Plus all the cows in the next field went apeshit.
I'm not the first to see it either.

Was out walking my brothers dog the other year, and this was after more big cat sightings in the area. The dog went mad, I crapped it and a roe deer pegged it up the trail.

Plus bats in the helmet always give you a fright.

You have as much right to be on the road as them, but I do sympathsise re them riding so close.
Is there no off road option?

The coast path between Bude and Widemouth bay is bridleway.
Did it every morning last year without issue.

    Nice trail.
