    Another falts returnee here too.
I wasn’t sure how I’d get on after years of SPDing, so stuck some Welgo V12 reps on the commuter and went from there.
It took a few rides and finally it click with regard to hopping over logs etc.
Still need to prcatice the jump side of things, but its getting there.
It gets a bit tasty ridng rigid on flats on steps and stairs though.

Got flats on the rigid SS and the SS 29er(both HT’s). But have kept the SPD’s for the bouncer, which is the bike I use for the rocky stuff and found I was bounced about a little too much for my liking.

I ride the flats with Shimano MP90’s which are quite subtle and grippy enough.

I have just gone back to a Wanga for general SS duties and have ordered a Soukri from the USA.
Did contact Halfrauds re getting one for me, but they were not really helpful.
I have only ever seen 1 Voodoo on display in their stores and that was a couple of years ago. They concentrate on Boardman now.
Plus they were stocking Konas the other year too. Just for you brand whores
Not struck on the new ones though.

    Mine

Its not nice at the moment. Some parts need closing or they will be wrecked in no time.

I have had an older Inbred and loved it.
I now have the Genesis IO and love it just as much.
If anything I would say the IO is a slightly harder ride, but very flexy still.
When I got mine in L (19″) the stockist said that Genesis had stopped making them.

Have done Penmachno and the Marin plenty of times.

I do prefer Penmachno, but seeing as I am on my own, I am taking the easier, but longer option seeing as its the first training ride of 2011 for Keilder later in the year.

Want to keep it simple and not go trail searching as I have to be back at a reasonable time.

    Whats the Vodafone signal like?

Was going to limit myself to Betws-y-Coed, as I am heading from Warwickshire.

One for the future though Ta

Did the Chase yesterday with a ‘dads and lads’ type ride.
Twas a gloop fest and was not nice riding.

Plus the amount of ar5eholes on the FtD trying to barge past the kids.

If you don’t like ‘your’ trail being busy. Don’t go on a Sunday morning.

Some parts need closing, otherwise they will be wrecked soon.

Another vote for the Genesis, although they have stopped being made now and I struggled to get hold of a new frame.

Also Scandal although mine is a 29er.

Inbreds/Wangas are always a good option too

Too right. Did 25m mud plugging yesterday. Was glad to get on the road for once, just to clear the crap out of the tyres.

I think every time I have ridden with John he has come off.

Last time it was on the Long Mynd and he ended up in A&E then.

He was on his clown bike though.

    All the best mate.

I am in a similar area to you Rocketdog. My comute from North Warks to South Warks is 11m, but means the quickest way is through the centre of Coventry.
That isn’t the problem, its the drivers who can’t cope with a bike on the bike when there isn’t any snow. So how will they manage when there is.
I ended up extending it to 22m, but meant it was 80% off road 8)

Road are fine now. The snow has almost gone around Coventry.

Don’t bring WorldClassAccident though, its way too posh for him

My brother did Cannock last weekend and said it was a bit icy.
There has been fresh snow since.
I was in the white Peak at Calver last Sunday and it was erm, White.
It was rideable though, but there as been more snow since.

    Frustrating, yes?

My Scandal was 23lb on the nose with the carbon rigids on.

And is 25lb on the nose with the suss forks on.

Running 32/16 or 32/18 depending on the trail

Natural order, although they are noisy when they shag.

Shame about your chickens though, but I fear you will be at war with Renard the Fox for a while.

    Depends what your after.
For all out wilderness and views then Penmachno, Marin and Nanty would get my vote.
However for a no brains blast, Llandegla.
I will get slated for saying that, by the ‘riding gods’ on here, but I leave with a smile on my gob every time I go.
