I ended up having to hitch earlier this year in Fuertaventura as only bus out of village that day left at 06.00.I am 52 and havent hitched in 20 years.Got picked up by a local spanish girl who happened to be going to airport so it was perfect. I have done loads all over the world really and only have positive memories.I have been fed, watered and given places to stay for the night on numerous occasions.I presume it may be a different experience if you are a lone female but i see quite a few of them in the alps hitching from Briancon back down towards Gap.I never picked them up just because i am a middle aged man, stupid really.

I have had the petzl actik core for about a year now,i use it everyday for work(electrician).its nice and light and the rechargable battery has saved me loads.i bought an additional battery that is permanently on charge in the van.i use it on the medium setting which is plenty bright enough for crawling around in dark spaces

I have a bryton 750 which i bought because it had a big screen and was easier to see with my aging eyes.I have started using it for off road navigation which was never the intention but i have started to do some bikepacking.Uptil now its worked well and the battery life is good even on full brightness all day.The turn by turn instructions half the battery life though so i don’t bother with them.just another option to throw in the mix

Roisin Murphy was a really good performance,i do listen to some of her music mainly becuase the mrs likes her as well.I like Sleaford Mods and have seen them live but at Glastonbury they weren’t good.Same goes for your favorite Khruangbin, terrible performance .

Which i believe was a mummified monkeys head not the victim of a tribe as i grew up believing. There was a massive birds egg collection that got put way from public view probably around 1979.We used to go in there all the time as kids when it was just a museum

I gave up last year for just over three months after a mate of mine said he had signed up for the one year no beer thing.I didn’t sign up for that but did listen to the podcasts they do which had some good content on there.I was drinking at least a bottle of wine everynight for years prior. It was hard for the first week then once i found an alcohol free beer i didn’t mind i got into it.I thought i would start again for xmas and then get back on the wagon in the new year.It never happened,i had a few alcohol free days between xmas and new year and i have drunk every night since.Less than before but still everynight.I don’t really want to stop now where as before i did.I don’t really suffer with bad hangovers with the amount i drink and it doesn’t stop me getting up early to go for a pre work bike ride. This is not a pro drink post just my experience of giving up and starting again.

Non alcoholic beer is great,i gave up drinking for three months in Septmeber and had a couple of them everynight i reckon.I drink water all day at work and don’t want to have my dinner drinking water, alcohol free beer was perfect. Is it not just like any other drink that doesn’t contain alcohol?

I have had some for a couple of weeks now and really like them,i normally ride clear on the mtb as most of my riding is in forests. The lens definitely gives more contrast and definition than other lenses i have used. They were discounted  on bike discount which swung it really but glad i bought them now.they still fog up when stood still though but i have yet to find a lens that doesnt.

I am planning on giving it a go,the hardest bit is going to be doing a cross race and not having a few beers when i get home. The plan is to stay dry till i go to the watch the worlds at the beginning of february.

A hard ride and a race are two completly different things, you obviously don’t race.At the end of a race road/cross or mtb there is no cheery helloing going on

Both me and the wife knew him back in the late eighties when he was a house Dj,well everything came under house/dance music then but he used to play quite a bit of jungle which didn’t always go down well in Burnley at the time.He was a massive talent and i liked his Trevino stuff.

Born 1970 in Rossendale, always had an keen interest in bikes from a really early age up until the BMX craze started to die off in the early to mid eighties.Had probably 8 years off when i discovered girls, drugs and clubbing then started riding an mtb whilst continuing with the rock and roll lifestyle.Never really stopped riding after that, road cross and mtb now.Try and get out five times a week.

I love cyclocross but a cyclocross bike is designed to be ridden on a cross course anywhere else and i think there is a different bike that fits the purpose

Take him over the local park and introduce him to cider, weed and fingering birds.
Might be controversial but I bet it’ll get him out of the house.
On the flip side you might get arrested and be put on the sex offenders list.
It’ll be worth it in the long run though.

Cider, weed and fingering birds sounds great, probably better than a bike ride.

I am going again this year, can’t wait.Last year was the first time for me and really enjoyed it apart from the crap ale they sell on the course.

I don’t understand why people won’t pay for a bike fit especially for the road bike where you are potentially sat in the same position for hours on end.

I’m thinking of coming off the medication as I’m stuck on an emotional plateau of sorts. No extreme lows, but also no highs.

Is that not what the medication is supposed to do?Its meant to keep you on level ground as opposed to up and down?

I am only asking you as i have had a lot of experience caring for sufferers.

Did my bike test year before last at 44 having always wanted a scooter.Bought a second hand LML 150 2 stroke for €900 as a first scooter and its been great.I have put it away for the winter now but can’t wait for spring.I had full intentions of getting and upgrading to an old lambretta but its never put a foot wrong and i havent got the time to be spannering.
