Anyone else having problems with the return portal not allowing you to select your country? I’m returning a couple of things before it’s too late and can’t get past entering my address on rebound.  It’s currently only offering Christmas Island as my country!

Try lokoloko for guided riding too. I rode with them a couple of years ago and they were good, their Pico do Arieiro route was great. It’s a lovely island and the riding is amazing.

I found them to be about as quick but more prone to puncturing than my current conti four seasons. They also seemed to pick up more small tears etc but I did over 2000 miles on a pair and had no real complaints. The contis are better though.

We’ll mine have turned up today and I’m very pleased. Full retail packaging, finned pads and spare olive etc. Just need to swap the levers round now and feed the rear hose through my new clockwork frame…

Only slight niggle was that there was no dispatch email etc so I chased this morning (to which I got a quick response) as they simultaneously arrived in the post.

Here we are, Hinterradbremse is a rear brake and Vorderradbremse is a front according to google.

Will report back when they arrive but I needed a pair so hopefully the acronym means front and rear, it translates as that on the action sports website… and the hoses are the right length assuming they are supplied!

Not sure if it helps but I’ve just taken a punt on a set of m8000 xt brakes from alpine trek for £118 (£113 after their £5 off for first order discount code). Not arrived yet but was the cheapest I could find and reviews seem ok (they used to be called bergfreude).

Vivoactive non heart rate here and it’s great, does everything my edge touring does and the gps link on start up is much quicker. They aren’t backlit so the battery lasts ages. Seeing phone calls on your wrist is surprisingly useful too.

Bit of a PSA but there are a few cheap ex demo ones at Evans at the mo too….

Try lokoloko as well, I rode with them last year as free ride maderia were full, great service, small well matched group and the guide was good. They picked up from our hotel and the hire bikes were pretty good condition cannondale rize 120’s, certainly better than ones I have hired in the Alps. The riding is amazing, they tend to offer more xc than downhill oriented routes but I enjoyed the pico arieiro route, heathland at the top down to banana groves at the bottom…

I thought I’d add one more recommendation as I got back from a short break in madeira yesterday and had a day ride with lokoloko. Good guide who seemed to really want to show us some local trail stuff so we rode almost exclusively on singletrack or levadas (fairly narrow exposed footpaths next to irrigation channels) from about 1800m to the city. Seemed excellent value at 60eur for about 8hrs riding, transfers to and from my hotel and hire of a cannon dale rize 120 which was in reasonable nick and about to be replaced.

Thought I’d restart this as the thread was useful whilst deciding where to give one a go, which I did! I bought a flyer x frameset which I’ve just finished building up and it came with a replacement bolt kit to be fitted before use due to tolerance issues withe factory fitted ones… I’m guessing you need a set of those. Easy enough to fit once you have prized out the bolt locking washers.
    Cheers

I’ve been looking at these too, any one had experience of viper frames, seems almost worth it for the shock alone?

Cli-Machx was parially closed when i rode there last wednesday, basically the last two sections (which are the best bits) but there are some other diversions and changes to direction. There is a temporary car park too so a different start point.

Bought my father-in-law a lumix – it was fine but was a euro model with a cheap adapter which I knew he'd hate so I returned a day later. I notifyed them before sending and filled out a return form but it took six weeks to get my refund… They always responded to emails but loads of excuses like the refund system wasn't working etc… in the end I got my refund by hand written cheque in the post. I then picked up the UK version of the camera for £5 more at my local shop!
