Aled Brewer reminds me of the copper from withnail and I that shouts ‘Get in the back of the van’

    Edit: poor spelling

I’d have a go myself but your car is a lot nicer than anything I’ve ever owned. One for the professionals, as others have said it’s easy to make it a lot worse.

Despite having owned a couple of metros it’s my current car, an 08 civic type s. Cars are a functional thing, have had a number of xsara picassos as proof. Fancied getting something more interesting, the 2.2 engine goes well and corners well too.

3 doors aren’t practical, it’s too loww, the suspension is too hard and I’m too old. Fortunately I kept the Picasso, the civic will be getting sold ASAP.

@halifaxpete is the reg on that Peugeot P45? The irony…

72 vw type 2 dormobile conversion – RRA 911K put it in for resto but house and babies it had to go. Was neptune blue but now brown when I last checked.
Scirocco GT2 – sold to a bloke at work for £400
Hilux Surf – couldn’t afford the fuel costs back then so even less likely now.

Honda CB250RS – nostalgia value only 1st bike
    RD350 YPVS FN2 – obviously
    TRX 850 – just a great bike
    BMW Funduro – practical commuter

Space was an issue at the time, now have a bit of space but no money. The irony

Mitchum roll on in whatever flavour is on offer. Interested in the more eco freindly options out there. There’s a lot of plastic and presumably some fairly nasty chemicals in my current choice.

Leaking crank case oil seal? Might explain the oil loss and what sounds like a slipping clutch. As others have said 4 to 5 years is a long time to be laid up. Plenty of perished seals and fluids that have gone off.

Just looking at octopus, seems like a favourite. Will wait until formally taken over as recommended.

    Much appreciated.

Only just found out when my mum phoned. Someone had mentioned it to her on Facebook.

No emails or messages from them. Poor effort

Edit – over £250 in credit, do I lose it?

Are they a 3 door? That might get a bit tedious after a while.

My idle c4 gp browsing is slowly creeping toward Berlin go territory. Any use to you?

Dug my old Bauer turbos out a good few years ago. Time hadn’t been kind to them, first outing resulted in a split truck second time the cuffs split. If yours are still intact treat them as a museum piece.

Get a dog instead, they use people doors so no costs involved. They’re also better than cats so it’s a win win.

A pair of Bauer vapours with the hi-lo wheel set-up. These may also be highly inappropriate if it’s not a smooth surface. Big wheels for outdoors?

I have a real soft spot for the Ezio games of AC. Running around Florence, Venice and Rome was a bit special and beautifully rendered.

Thanks all, top speed is a non issue so happy to lose that. Lowest gears are the ones I use when riding in the Peak. 12 speed isn’t a possibility at the moment, cost seems to be the biggest hurdle. Looks like 11 speed and absorbing the cost may be the way to go and look at a setup that would handle a 50(ish)t cassette.

Consensus seems to be 42t on the rear with a 30 upfront. Current set up looks to 36-22 chainrings with an 11-36 cassette.

I did look at 11 speed but factoring in a new mech and shifter as well was a bit prohibitive. As long as low end isn’t lost is on comparison to the current x2 setup in willing to lose a mid range cog.

About 4 weeks for me, tested positive at the start of November. Still tired and not 100% yet. Was back at the gym on December but taking it very steadily.

Possibly an m6000, oem on x2 bossnut v2. Only marking I can see is the sgs stamp between the jockey wheels. Was hoping to get 46t on there. Anything with more teeth and it would be dragging on the ground.

Start with 2 and go on from there, including the side story ones. They are all great, vary atmospheric and have engaging story lines.

The egs was fine once moving, it was always a bit hit and miss when pulling away. The wandering bite point and will it/wont it made busy islands interesting. Had the same gearbox in the Nemo, it was no better. That citroen dropped it in favour of a proper auto speaks volumes.

We had proper roof rails and could fit four bikes on. The xsara picasso had fixed mounting points that were very close to each other.

Had a c4 gp a few years ago, now looking to replace my civic type s with another gp. Had the egs gearbox but wouldn’t recommend it, not the best in use and can be fault prone = big bills. I’m looking at a manual for now.

The fold flat rear seats are brilliant and make it really versatile. Had the 2l 16v diesel and it was a cracking engine.

Ordered one yesterday for the kids for Christmas. It will be kept at my house, got the star wars squadrons and rik and morty pack.

You should get star wars and the resident evil 7 game for it. A freind brought his round last year and it was res 7 that made me realise I needed to get a ps4.

I’m in a very similar position to the OP. Looking for mpv sized car, C4 picasso type of thing. Really like the lazy torque of a turbo diesel but now looking at a petrol. Things like turbos, dpf, dmf/clutched, injectors seem like a real risk on higher mileage diesels. Appreciate I could be missing similar issues on a petrol.

As my 2 are now in secondary school I thought I’d get a civic type s in April this year.

My eBay watch list is now full of C4 grand picassos. They do double as a handy weekend micro camper though…

Looking at the 30t round from superstar and presumably need these Chainring bolts

Was looking at the superstar 30t,its threaded and looks to have the spacers machined in. Mostly peak district so would be lookin at an 11-42/46t cassette to retain the climbing ability. Currently an 11-36 cassette 2×10.

I too have avoided a trim, can now tie it back. A definite return to the 90s for me as well. Off to buy a mudhoney t shirt for work, might buy a pair of dm’s as well.

In my eagerness to post I didn’t see that. I’ll retract my joke.

    £11.98? That’s a little dear.
