I’ve been a member of CTC, LCC and BC.

All have similar and encompassing 3rd party insurance.

CTC – best mag which is quite good, good discounts throughout main London stores and on some organised rides.

BC – no mag, Halfords discount (via voucher download) but preferential application for BC events, esp track at the Olympic velodrome.

LCC – Mag which is 95% about cycling campaigns, etc … same discounts as CTC.

And you’re right to get insured riding in London IMO.

I had something ‘processing’ for a while as well.

Took a phonecall for it to start moving again and I got the impression it was a glitch.

CRC ordering/ delivery isn’t as quick as it once was.

I like it to resemble a ‘soggy flapjack’ – (STW quote from a year or so back !)

    Then syrup and poss raisins.

Not so keen on it when cooked for ages and is all slimey.

    Can’t wait.

^^ … Mark, did you have a preference between the Inbred and Solaris ?

I’m 6’3 with a 33 inside leg and am tempted with the Solaris offers at Cotic, esp as they can run 120mm forks.

    Garmin Edge Touring ?

I’ve just got one for £180 from Halfords (at the moment with discounts.)

Does turn by turn navigation, will search on postcode and shows POI’s, etc ..

Also comes with their cyclemaps showing road, offroad and cycle paths, etc …

Seems to me to be the most like car satnav out there.

(ie. Get me somewhere via this kind of route, and show me each turn)

Yes and numb hands not an issue as palms like a sofa … 😆

Its the circumference of the grip thats too small.

It aches after a while so can’t be doing my joints any long term goodness.

We went to Centerparcs before ours hit school age.

Cheap, nearby (for us) and family friendly.

Would prob go still if it wasn’t at least 3x price in school hols ….

“Personally I find that unbelievably rude, to expect some-one to get get out of the way, because your riding faster than them. This is a forest track, not a racetrack”

    Really ?

We don’t all go the same speed although theres ways and means of politely notifying and passing folk ….

I ride from Kings Cross to work everyday and have left my bike there for the past 5 years.

First bike was a £500 Ridgeback Flight and current is a Marin 29er.

I’ve never had any problems and think the risks are overstated.

Wheel, stem and seatpost locking bolts, decent U lock and make sure lights are removed and you’ll be fine.
