That eBay job wouldn’t work as there isn’t enough space to fit it (Spesh Hardrock Sport Disc 29)

Will check pletscher out, cheers. Trying to see if thereis one that attaches to the chainstay only

I use a garmin Oregon on my bars, can’t remember which one now, either 550t or 450t.

Bought it for outdoorsy use so when I got the bike I bought the bike mount for it. You can easily use it as a navigation tool when riding, I have the 1:50k maps in it and there is plenty of detail, 1:25k would be even better but I haven’t found it to be a problem yet.

If I’m genuinely out for a long trip, like wild camping on foot, then I always have a paper copy as back up. For short trips where I know my exit route automatically then I use it on its own

I would have said use a fine toothed saw with something solid against the edge

Out of interest – what sort of temperature and for what sort of riding are you wearing a jacket like this?

I keep a Petzl e+lite in my saddlepack. Its tiny, useful as a weak form of back up and also fixing something in the dark

I use a bar light and helmet light so backup already built in

How about remove the bracket from the bottom, and use a machine screw or other bolt to mount it directly to the helmet

I did something similar with my head mounted torch, took half the mount off and bolted it to a tiny bit of shaped/carved wood inside the helmet so its just secure but also low profile. Covered the wood with some inner tube to wedge it further and make it look a bit better. Pretty solid now. The torch is still attached with an o ring to the mount

I reckon that would work with the SS X2

The xsara picasso is one of the worst cars I’ve ever driven. Its a miserable grey vanilla thing on wheels. The steering column/wheel, seats, and pedals don’t line up. I’ve had this in other cars (e36 coupe) but this is also miserable to drive so it just makes it even worse.

It is very practical though. So is a Fiat Multipla and a Zafira, wouldn’t have any of them either…

I can honestly say I’ve no idea what parts I have, but I walked into my LBS and described the crashed road bike I had. I walked out with the bits to fit new bars, stem, gear and brake levers, grips, and bar ends

Fitted it no problem when I got home, hadn’t done anything like that before

    Helpful post huh?

Check the website to be sure, but at a guess that should be fine

There’s fare/price section on the tfl website

2 to 1 is very different to 1 to none

Used to work In central London and 2 cars was a waste of money, sold it. Used motorbike (and public transport) to get to work. Also cycled every now and then

Now work out of town and despite being able to get the train, cycle or motorbike we’re back to two cars. It’s just more practical, although its the kids that really clinch it. If we didn’t have them I could use two wheels, but that’s no use if I need to drop the kids off somewhere!

Roughly an hour of use last night, mixed use with most on medium, then low, then high. Three lights showing by the end of the ride

I have one of these. Easy to take off my bike when I get to work and plenty bright enough. I’ve used it off road a fair bit too when combined with a torch mounted helmet light

I was very impressed with the spread of light, certainly much better than a normal torch

Picked up a solarstorm x2 now for more output, still gave the mini as backup and for my road bike

Molgrips – trust me, it’s rubbish

The more expensive ones might be better. The keyboard is slow and unintelligent, the power/sleep button is unresponsive, it turned itself off earlier, the calendar isn’t easy to view, phone book is crap, shall I go on?

It’s a work phone so I need some basic things to be excellent, it’s not. Luckily I also have a work tablet (as well as laptop) so I tend to use my phone as a hotspot and do things via the tablet

I’m tech savvy, the phone is trying to be clever but really it’s just slow and cheap. I really hope the more expensive ones are better

How short a time and how safe are the places

I’ve got a cheap abus armoured cable lock one from amazon, but my main one is an abus xplus granit 54, very good and secure, much more expensive and its also heavier

Quick thought for those that think the beam isn’t floody enough, have you tried taking off the lens and removing the reflector for one of the LEDs?

Mine turned up today. Ordered from the ebay chap in Crawley on Sunday evening

The battery pack is smaller than I expected, indeed so was the whole package. Will give it a run out asap and see how it goes

He must have got a lot of sales in the last few weeks

I only use protected 18650 cells in my torches. I have quite a few already and having singles gives me more use of of them.

If someone tracks down a good source of 4 cell packs I’d definitely be interested

    benp1

I’d be interested in a battery pack that can you can your own 18650 cells in, sort of like the Fenix BT20 battery pack

One of the eBay sellers have dropped the price to £28.99 and included a cheap rear light in with the deal, too good to miss out on so just clicked through, hopefully will turn up by next weekend

That solarstorm website ‘only’ quotes 1500 lumens as the max output for the x2

I’ve been on the fence waiting to make a decision around these, they do look good, especially for the price.

I’ve been making do with a fluxient U2 mini on my bars, which I bought for commuting, and a sunwayman v20c as my helmet light (which I had already), gives me over 1000 real lumens combined and let’s me carry back up batteries that I can use in ether torch

5 series estate here – thule wingbars and proride 591 bike carrier, was definitely worth the investment.

Roof bars have been used for all sorts, from roof box and ladders through to furniture and an entire shed!

Is it just people that drive a shed that are replying to this thread?

Both our cars and my motorbike are worth way more than bikes. But they’re not expensive bikes

Does anyone make a battery holder with built in lead that will take two 18650 cells, that way you could charge them together or individually

Could be made to be waterproof too. A bit like the Fenix BT20 battery pack

    Depends what you are after

Most of stuff is from Hein Gericke, Infinity Motorcycles and J&S, but there are outlets relatively local to me

I bought my lids from lid specialists though as they were the cheapest
