I have the same issue, with the shock out, it is slightly stiff to get the swingarm moving from the bottom of its travel, but once past the initial sticking point, pretty free.

I’ve actually emailed Turner US this week about it but not had a reply yet.

I had looked at the PUSH low friction bushes, but TF Tuned who used to stock them have none for the DW (but have HL) and PUSH aren’t very forthcoming with re-stocking them, by my interpretation.

what is the benefit of declaring full value to customs? Does it mean they have no reason to charge you (meaning you get the stuff quicker) when it gets to the UK, or that they charge you more because you’ve actually declared a larger sum?

Sorry if this is a stupid question!

Edit; I see you mean Superstar, afraid I’m oot!

Can you still pick the rim finish, hole drilling etc?

Don’t suppose you’ve got a link have you?

    Ta’, Ben.

Afternoon all, just done my calculations for a set of the 35mm wide Hookless 650B, just wondered if you could check my maths before I get in touch with LB.

    2 x Rims @ 175USD EA
    + 3.5% PP Fee
    + 50USD Postage
Total – 412.25USD/ £285 in Google currency converter

(+ unknown customs/ Parcelfarce handling fees when it hits the UK)

    Anything I’ve missed?

    Thanks, Ben.

Rickon, how come the 29″ rims work out so much cheaper?

Did you just pay by standard PayPal Andy?

Pretty much exactly what I’ll be ordering, so should give me some idea towards cost.

Yeah pretty set on the 35mm’s from this thread. Have to decide on best finish and method of payment first!

Scienceofficer they the matte UD version?

Currently leaning towards the middle-ground of the 35mm wide rims bought via PayPal, shipped and built by LBS onto Hope’s.

Edit; some rim widths and idea of which finish would be good with pics, ta!

Yeah,I’d probably go for the ‘flashier’ carbon weave effect finish, it’s hard to tell which finish looks like what on the LB website though.

I’d probably just buy the rims only (potentially next week) and have the rims built up over here onto Pro II hubs.

Wider is cooler, but can they be too wide, altering the tyre design profile etc? (Trail Kings F&R)

Yeah cool. Can’t say I blame you!

Still unsure which width to go for, but if I do go for either of the slimmer width rims, they should weigh slightly less..

About 1650g all in then, so pretty light. I’d probably not be bothering with bladed spokes (do they make that much difference?) just standard silver DB.

    Evening all!

Looking at building up a 650B set of these, but unsure whether to go for the 30 or 35mm rims, for general trail use/abuse on a full bouncer?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, also some real-world build weights with Hope Pro II’s would be good!

    Thanks very much, Ben.

PS; Ooh also forgot, pics, anyone with pics – Quite like the raw carbon weave finish, which is the nicest one to go for?

Interesting, wasn’t it the sidewalls everyone was having issues with previously?

Just had another look on Bike Discount, they’re only offering Evo Liteskin, or non-Evo Snakeskin in 27.5″, is this the one go go for?

Where you all picking the 2015 ones up from?

Looking for a faster rolling 650b rear, so thinking Evo Snakeskin Pacestar 2.25 Tubeless Easy, do I need ‘Double Defence’? What is that anyway?

Speaking of frame protection, what is everyone using for these frames?

I see invisiframe do a kit, but no option for an XL frame, and it’s eye-wateringly expensive!

volatilemike & soap what size are your frames, and what’re they weighing in at?

Look like similar builds to what I’d be thinking of..

Just out of interest, where are you all getting Superlube from, to fit the Turner grease gun?

I can only find it in 85g tubes, isn’t that too small for the gun?

    Thanks, Ben.

Is this the Montane Alpine Stretch Fingerbang?

Can get one for £55ish delivered, in bright lime..

    Same.

There’s a Rab Generator Alpine in Classifieds, anyone use one of those?

Edit; breathable and water resistant is fine, I’ve a proper shell for if it’s pouring.

Mixed reviews then, some saying it looks good.

A couple aging Montane Dyno, or Rab Vapour Rise/Vapour Rise Lite.

Just had a little look at those two, the Marmot looks like a wind/waterproof shell, and the Rab a thickly insulated outer, maybe wrong though.

I previously had a Montane Pertex smock which I didn’t get on with, I got wet from inside and out!

When you say Rab Alpine, which jacket do you mean, as the ‘Alpine’ only refers to the cut..

Edit; just double checked them both, the Rab looks the better of the two, due to the larger (helmet) hood, and more pockets/ vents. Though still £100+.

Just had a quick Google, and anything ‘Pertex Pile’ is £100+, which is a bit spendy for me to go riding in and effectively trash 😥

Just what I’m looking for, I usually only ride with a base layer & jacket on. Only I ripped my previous one beyond repair.

Because in the UK, it’s usually fairly cold and wet, but rarely lashing it down when I’m riding. For which I have a waterproof shell.

Edit; my previous softshell was plenty comfy enough, with mesh lined pockets, pit zips and could be unzipped if required etc.

Had a set for most of last year, there was quite a lot of side to side ‘float’ on the axles, even from new, after around 6 months the bearings started creaking too.

Be careful to grease the threads into the cranks often, I forgot and rounded one of the allen key ends trying to get it out! I did also, snap an axle on one, thus, I’m now using Vaults.

    Very blingy.

Does anyone know if M770’s will be anodised, or just normal paint?

Also, do the whole driveside, including spider, or leave the spider coloured?

This thread has taken off since I last visited!

Chipbutty inspired me, and I’ve been trying to source a 2015 XL Raw all week, but no-one seems to have one, and the distributor hasn’t a date for re-stock of raw frames.. 😥

I’ve got a complete Pushloc conversion (including the required damper), in the For Sale section.

except, you can skip any of the bits with the fork lowers, just remove the damper from the fork leg top, replace oil as necessary, fit Pusloc damper, done!

    Weight?

    Ta!
