@mrmoofo –  I assure you it doesn’t this is Mature hard goats cheddar. It’s very tasty available under the St Helens Farm brand from some of the retailers.

@binners I’m the Factory Manager at Carron Lodge (Singletons Dairy), you should be able to get Granny Singletons at Cheese Plus as well as Redmans.

Sad news this morning, Butlers Farmhouse Cheese packing plant across the road burnt down.

I get to eat cheese everyday, which is sometimes nice, but have to eat it at end of shelf life too. Not much fun with the blends to be honest.

We sell in to most (if not all) the places mentioned so far.

    Some cheese 10 minutes ago.

    1. Goats Cheese

    2. Granny singletons Tasty Lancashire santa Hats

    3. Beacon Fell Creamy Lancashire PDO

    4. Some blends (For @tjagain)

    5. A bit of smoked cheddar

You should try our Trufflewood ;)

If that’s your bag. We’re currently exporting about 4 tons a week of truffle cheddar to the US and Australia. Absolutely mental how well it sells. It does stink the factory out when we’re making it though!

Anyway Quickes Extra Mature Cheddar is the answer you’re looking for.

Had my Galaxy S9 in a Supcase Unicorn Beetle for about 5 years now, still looks like the day I took it out of the box. that’s the phone, not the case. The case is still in good condition apart from the clear bit, scratched to buggery, but usuable.

“He was evicted by the Jesuits, so why (allegedly) destroy a landmark tree on National Trust land?  I don’t get it?”

Because NT were one of the complainants to the land owners (Jesuits) about his “illegal” campsite and associated noise?

A bunch went so wrong they ended up in Ingleton and had to go back in the road to Cold Cotes to dib in!

That would explain why there were a few riders riding up to Cold Cotes then, crazy stupid idea considering the conditions.

@chipps mars bar supplied by Jo Allen by any chance? Best mars bar I ever had!

Had a bit of a torried train, lack of fitness and riding since taking on a new job. Totally the wrong gearing on the bike, why I didn’t fit a bigger casette I don’t know. Tumble coming down Whernside and then puncture 30 seconds later. Decided to run down Whernside rather than replace the tube and risk another puncture as there were spare wheels at the bottom, except there weren’t as my support had forgotten them! Lost a few minutes making sure some of the felled riders were ok. Descending I had no issues with and the Pickenflick was great but lack of training (I got in on the reserve list 3 weeks ago!)

There seemed to be some proper dodgy shortcuts being taken and a lot of dodgy bike changes as well, particularly along the road and on the way up Whernside and some very “dubious mechanicals”. And the guy on the monowheel on the road? Bit daft really.

Big time loss on 2019 where I did a 3h54m. This year was 5h4m, dissapointed but inevitable with lack of riding, racing and running.

Training starts this week for next year!

Thanks to all the marshalls, staff, MTR etc., for staying out in some grim conditions. Thanks to my family and in laws for the support as well they seemed to really enjoy it, even if they didn’t know what they were doing!

Well done to all the finishers, it’s a proper hard event that gets under your skin in a coulda, shoulda, woulda, way. 29 DNF’s including last years ladies winner and big congrats to Giles for the overall win, chuffed for him after bad luck last year.

Do the club have some they can try first before shelling out?

To add our club (Pendle Panthers) don’t require a mandatory full face for BMX sessions, although it is carried out at a good pump track some of the jumps are quite big.

If you can let it dry, most of the worst will brush off before washing.

This is what I tend to do, helps if you’ve sufficient kit and its warm!

Thanks for the info. Couldn’t see much on trailforks but a bit of gravel bashing in the forest will be fine, just be nice to get away from the road!

The logo just looks like one of those rubbish things that hotels give you to put your suitcase on and seems equally as pointless.

I’m pretty sure they’re for room service trays, at least that’s what we used them for when I worked in the hospitality industry!

It’s just annoying you can’t even filter wheels or forks by wheel size.

It puts me off using the site because the filters are so bad, trying to find the right fork with so many options is somewhat difficult!

I live in Longridge and ride the fell regularly. PM me your details if you like and I’ll let you know when I’m going out, usually early mornings is the plan. I know most of the tracks and bridleways in the area (although bridleways are a bit thin on the ground) but there are a few decent XC loops that you can start and finish in Clitheroe and if you’re game Malham and Settle aren’t too far away as a good start to getting into the Dales.

We’ve always just left them and then clear them manually every 6 months or so whilst having a read of the ranty ones that were never going to get dealt with in the first place! You still get people sending emails as towhy no ones replied to their rant, to the donotreply email address.

Home Farm at Westquantoxhead is great. Right next to the beach, nice pub on site and at the foot of the Quantox. good pub (the Windmill) across the road.

I’m going to blame the Logitech controller, I’ve got 2 of them on my PC and they’re forever being disconnected. I’ve not known any other USB device like it to be honest!

MTL is fairly straightforward and should be dry although we’ve had some heavy rain round here lately. 5-6 hours depending on your fitness. Stock up on water where you can as there are a few remote bits.

I’ve done that decent on my hardtail xc bike at speed with Ralphs and Rons without issue, maybe lucky but I’ve never punctured in the Dales and I’ve done pretty much every ROW accessible to bikes.

Always used Ralph and Ron combo for the Dales with no issues. I can’t see needing anything bigger than that really!

We were supposed to be going for the Crankit race tomorrow at Sherwood Pines, however coupled with the rear mech hanger(which she managed to destroy after riding into a tree on the Hope Line at Gisburn a couple of weeks ago) for my daughters Hup not arriving that ordered over a week ago, and the falling snow here, we won’t be going. Last I heard it was still going ahead although I thought that might be dubious considering more snow was forecast, although the daytime is supposed to be warmer. a 5 hour round trip isn’t great if it’s cancelled or have a nasty off.

Relative of the owner? I hear so often of useless folk like this.

Not a relative, just lives round the corner, but yeah, I’ve seen similar at other companies.

Had a day off yesterday to use my last days holiday, which was great, went to my new employers site for a look round as well. Back in today and it’s very frosty. Same old **** ups happening, which I’m rectifying for the benefit of the customer. Thankfully, (I suffer from misophonia) they’ve all decided to eat dinner in a different office. It’s all a bit weird! The commercial “director” (not an actual director on the books, just calls herself that, a glorified PA otherwise) is off for the next 2 days, which is a bit of a blessing because she’s a prat.

It takes me back to the summer of 99 when I lived in Connecticut as an intern at a Country Club. Best 6 months of my youth. I’m not a Ricky martin fan by any stretch of the imagination, but it was the song of the summer over there and it reminds me of pool parties, keg stands, barbecues, weekly trips to New York, cob salads, philly cheese steaks, sky diving, far too much mary jane, 40’s, long island iced tea and golf cart races.

@mick_r, Yep I’ll be running the technical function at Singletons. We’ll be producing brie and goats cheese as well as running a packing facility for export.
