Benji, you are Sheldon Cooper and I claim my £5.

Don’t, my work colleagues think the same.

Looks interesting, shame it’s clashing with the first round of the yorkshire series.

Same as usual, two peanut butter and cucumber sandwiches and four loose cherry tomatoes, followed by two strawberry jam sandwiches and a little cake.

The only variety is monday and tuesday where it’s chicken paste day rather than peanut butter.

    Same every day/week/month/year.

Didn’t get off the line well enough, got fell on in the woods first time through, then got my back wheel took out on my third lap, landed badly putting bars into my ribs, only just getting comfortable now, and wrote a helmet off as well. But that’s racing, you win some you crash some :)

The 22-23 tube is plenty stretchy enough to work in a cross tyre.

Sturmey did you miss the swamp race in huddersfield this summer? See you in a weeks time for the last round.

Power steering on a vectra, is it electic power steering some are, and when the alternator starts going it drops this out quiet quickly.

Had the original and it was spot on, not tried the new one, but now after what you have all said it’s time I did.

I ride a 56 superx, they are a long top tube at 57 rather than the more usual 56. At 6’2″ I would be more tempted to a 56 than a 54. The head tube on the caadx is slightly taller than the superx. Nice bike enjoy.

    Give it a go,

Either look on XCRacer or the british cycling website.

Pad choice makes a big difference, best I’ve found yet that are affordable are the BBB blue ones, work well in the wet which is always a bonus.

There’s nothing wrong with good old cantilevers, the top europeans still aren’t using discs for racing at the minute. It might change in the future, but the canti’s are more than capable, and don’t forget you haven’t got the same amount of tyre on the floor, so very easy to lock wheels up.

Get it bought, it’s great fun, and will greatly improve you as a mountain biker, smoothness is key, not the terrain but your riding style.

Does anyone run a clincher mud set up with a latex tube?

Yes I have, found I could run softer as the latex tubes are slightly more resistant to pinch punctures, and the extra flexibility in the tube did help grip. Ran the michelin tubes, nice quality.

I’ve been running the racing ralphs during the drier months, and run the rocket rons once things get wet and muddy. There are lots of folks in the usa running tubeless big discussions on cyclocross magazine website.

    Vader was definitly gay

    and father of two?

Or is this futher ammunition to gays adopting?

As for religion, always put Jedi on the form. There is a thought that sexuality is a spectrum so you are all a bunch of gayers, so more than others but remember god now loves you, no matter how far on the spectrum you are.

Petrol variant, some had twin spark plugs per cylinder, if coil packs and leads are bought from mercedes they are crazy money. The aluminium inlet manifold version is better as the latter plastic ones have the swirl flaps which can be prone to caking up and seizing. The diesel ones tend to get leaky injector seats, easy to see pop the engine covers off (torx bits) and there will be mess round the injector, not difficult to sort.

Don’t always discount mercedes for your parts as the other day they were cheaper than any other motor factor for discs and pads and had them on the shelf when all around hadn’t.

Regular servicing in the main seems them to running to a good age, mot wise, front lower wishbone bushes are starting to pop up regularly.

Ride both and depends on how the mood takes me, and what the next event is I’m booked in for. This year has been heavy road bias but virtually all racing has been cross, both summer and winter, with a few crits chucked in and one singlespeed mountain bike race just for fun. So training has tended to be on the road.

Great bikes for the winter, got a Cannondale Trail SS 29er (looking for a new home  ), just building up a Pace RC129er to run singlepeed over winter, then possibly change to gears if i fancy making life complicated in the summer.

The other nice thing with a singlespeed is the lack of noise, not ridden one with a tensioner so can’t comment on the noise.

If you want to know more about the car idea, just look up Faraday Cage, Sir Michael Faraday did a fair few experiments involving lightning, including flying kites in it.

Just get out and ride, if it’s your number it’s your number, when the big person upstairs decides it’s your turn he will get you.

Yes, in a word, but why do you want to split a working chain just to add a quick link?

Nursing broken ribs from wednesday night, so painful still, bought a new helmet, and some feel better presents for the new singlespeed build, just need a few more bits and a new ride will be born :)

have a look at a shogun pinin – they are cheap, and I’d say prob a better build than jimny’s

Have failed a couple of Pinin’s on corrosion in prescribed areas for suspension mountings, the front top mount area seems extremely prone.

Male 39 (40 in a few weeks), no previous owners, 6′ tall will fit in most garage doors, 65kg so keep out of strong winds.

Never been in a relationship the whole time since manufacturer, and not really interested, just happy tinkering with spanners/lathes/bikes/motorbikes.

Had issues with transits that have had a front end shunt, and the headlight wiring loom was trapped causing insulation chafing leading to corroded wires and funny issues. As the dash has been out, it’s not to say a piece of loom is rubbing on the steering column and as you flash, it’s that particular wire causing a not so grounded ground. Might also be worth checking all the fuses as well just to be sure.

It’s not a problem on a 29er single speed running 33×20 gearing. Have fun, and enjoy chuckling at those stuck in the past on 26″ wheels and gears ;)

Only thing I have ever replaced on one was a near side rear wheel bearing, nice easy job. Other than that just usual service items.

Love SRAM it’s on my cross bike, road bike and mountain bike and it all just keeps on working, the hood shape for the road stuff is very comfortable and I personally like only having the one lever so when cold, wet and muddy on a cross bike you know you have the right lever click there’s another gear.

Excellent news more cyclists, should hopefully mean my LBS stay in business longer. The more people cycling the less driving cars.

And how much longer do we have to tolerate the roady/mtb debate, it’s been over 20 years, there will be peace in the middle east before this stops being banged on about, let alone the 26/650b/29er debate just to keep it spicey.

Pace RC80BB, just insert tool, and use grease gun, pop cranks back in done.

    benji

Yes you can use the cranks but will need a bb30 to 24mm axle adapators, someone like problem solvers make them.

Bearings are easy enough to change, FSA make a drift for removal, couple of quid, put it in and tap with hammer and punch, then press in the new ones.

The only argument I can see to justify the extra 70g

It’s irrelevant in cross once the mud starts building, you just want something that works and keeps on working.

I personally like any shoe that takes studs in the front, because once winter properly arrives, dismounting and running are so much easier with studs, no slipping and tripping, just grip and rip.

Don’t use shimano pedals, prefer the crank brothers, candys for when it’s drier but when it gets real mucky never ever clogged a set of egg beaters.

Cinquecento sporting bought for a grand, then chucked a grand modifying it for trackdays and the ring trip. Engine swap from the little 1.1 to a 1.2 big valved, cammed and lightened engine, no interior bar seats and a cage, it was a bundle of fun.

So far so good, 1621 metres climbed today, shame they don’t give bonus points for getting stung by a bee, as that now hurts more than my legs.
