Well just under two weeks now, how’s everyones preparations going?

Had a good tinker with the SS MTB today, thunder burts front and back, bigger discs, and the old discs onto spare cross wheels. Training could have been better, been suffering with a cough/chest infection for the past month, just when I think it’s gone it comes back for another chunk.

Travers, then you can have it as long as you like without it being a silly price as well, custom titanium at a production price tag.

My usual recommendation of toaster a Dualit. It’s crumb free, as it all fits together perfectly.

Have you told him about the other car which is cheaper and less mileage?

How much is already down from, and what is it? Some things hold money better and are easier to sell so getting money off them is nigh on impossible.

Yes it will fit in the shell but the issue is the length of the crank spindle, as the shell is wider than the usual 68/73 variety, so once you have fitted the external eccentric bottom bracket cups the cranks spindle is then too short.

Have you tried one of those magnets that goes around the fuel line?

If only manufacturers fitted those as standard

Practice lap, with tyre pressures somewhere close to where you want them. If you do change them, have another practice lap to check that you have improved the bike. I tend to do my warm ups these days on a turbo trainer, with head phones, 20 minute steady spinning, with good lively music on. Get on the line, and wait for the whistle, as at that point the bull$hit stops. Most of all enjoy it, and think if you aren’t it possibly isn’t for me, but don’t worry as at least you have tried it.

Isn’t that how you become a PM, by that kind of behavior. I remember working with one, who stated openly he knew he had run a successful project when one or more contractors went financially insolvent.

Had some on test from by local bike shop, now running spyres, much prefer them to the juin techs. The color of the juins w nice but that was about the only plus.

It will depend on how the starter ends up lined up to the flywheel. Get it changed it’s on its way out.

I never knew coloured laces meant anything, wore red laces with ex army boots for most of my university days, just liked how they looked. Last year of uni I did have a mohican more because I could and it was my last chance before entering work.

    This is me Cinamon_girl :)

I walk to work, just over a mile each way, but in a couple of weeks I’m changing jobs so will then be riding 19 miles each way instead, so train and commute combined.

Apparently, even something as trivial as a bumper sticker can invalidate your cover.

Have you any evidence for that bumper sticker comment? Because that sounds more like internet rumour/legend passed off as fact, but is a complete load of made up nonsense.

It was a great colour when it was on it’s way up. Thought there was a well lit marque type thing on the horizon at first. It was cold though, but a nice night to be out on a bike.

You could take a 1l engine and turbocharge it to get the same power as a 2l. Therefore the extra 1l displacement has been ‘replaced’ by a turbocharger. Therefore, there IS a replacement for displacement!

Agree, but if you have space in the bay for the 2 litre turbocharged engine, that’s still going to be better than the smaller engine turbocharged.

People keep saying this, but surely that’s exactly what a turbocharger is?

But given the choice of 1 litre or 2 litre turbocharged assuming everything else is in equal ratios between them which would you want?

First things first, power doesn’t come cheap. Secondly there is no replacement for displacement. Thirdly better spending money improving the driver than the driven, if on a tight budget as skills are transferable to any vehicle. Gaining a driving licence only means you were better than the lowest standard required.

Seen a couple of these with bearing failures, worst one split the casting when the bearing failed. Sounds like you are getting it sorted which is good. You can measure the movement in a dmf, to check it is within specification, but they should already being doing this.

For example I can buy an oil filter from Ford, or I can buy the same size filter from Mann for 1/3 the price.

You do realize Mann are an original equipment manufacturer, and supply most of VAG with original filters. Ford do not produce their own filters they will be made for them by the likes of Mann Hummel.

I dare say if they look at some of the brake pads etc on sale they also do not meet standards. I would suspect the seller has not made them himself more brought them in from overseas. If people will buy a grey import/fake sram rear mech, why wouldn’t the fakers then look to bigger margin items?

Mainly ford focus based. Only issue I’ve seen are the availability of front discs aftermarket at the minute for some models, but I’m sure this will be solved.

The only other issue is the same as some Ford Focus gearboxes with the six speed manual box is the bearings getting very nice, requiring the gearbox removed and rebuilt with fresh bearings.

Shorty ultimate are well named they are ultimate, awesome stoppers, plus you can run them wide or narrow, depending on how you want them to feel/give mud clearance.

It’s not a good situation, but can the world afford to destroy everything in one press of a button.

I’m more concerned by how many are working on the minimum wage whilst the company they work for, post decent sized profits and pay dividends to share holders, whilst the workers are still having to claim from the state. See far more of those companies on the high street than electric cars.

Prefer the second row, behind a good starter as it gives you a cracking lead out, compared to being on the front. The longer the race the less it matters.

Battle on the beach should be great, that first run down the beach has got extra pieces in place this year to try and avoid the bottle necks. If you get a good start then stuck behind a sscx I’ll apologise now :)

Snap on now do these under the blue point label. Continued use of normal screw drivers in JIS fasteners causes premature wear to the tool and rounding out of the fastener head.
