Can I just add please don’t be tempted to go over the standard paracetamol dose i.e. 1g 4 times per day. I’ve lost count of the number of accidental/unaware paracetamol overdoses I’ve seen in ED as a result of tooth abscesses!

Are there any good films set around walking (I’ll check out the one mentioned above) ?

There is one on youtube called Hooks – its about a man who walks to all the mountain bothies in the Uk and puts up a hook on the back of the door on each one. One of the nicest and most relaxing videos ive seen in a long time. highly recommended.

Ive fitted one to my T5 – its a wireless one which has a cable from the reversing light to power it and a cable into the back of the head unit from the reversing switch to tell it to turn on. Its working on an android head unit. It was about 250 all in, and works really well. I wouldn’t be without it now.

It was a bit fiddly to fit, mainly because the instruction were crap and working out which wire you needed to cut in the main wiring loom was a bit of an arse but nothing horrendous.

Definitely both, impact driver is like night and day for putting in screws. Mines barely ever out of my hand when im working on the house at the moment.

Its much lighter, more compact, far more powerful and needs less effort from the user because the impact action means that you dont need to put as much force on with your wrist.

Ive started using Harrys razors, they have recently changed the design of the blade and now have the back bit as well. I’ve found them very comfortable and give a good shave. If used with a razor pit they are lasting for ages too. Im pretty pleased.

    Google SARDA North wales.

I’m one of those middle aged men (not in Wales) but I use my own car without any decals. I dont take myself too seriously. What I do do though is give up my time to train and look for lost people. No-one gets paid. We are all members of our local mountain rescue teams.

Perhaps one day that lost person might be you or one of your relatives so don’t be too judgmental.

Wow, calm down. What was that about taking themselves too seriously?
No it wasn’t SARDA, who have a very valid purpose and I’m fairly sure don’t drive white vans with reflective strips and dog unit decals all over them.

My disagreement with the ones I saw is the degree to which they make themselves look like the Police when they are nothing of the sort.

The ones we saw looked just like police vans, so much so my wife was convinced they were, until I pointed out that the police don’t drive 2002 transits and the didn’t actually say Police on them. I can’t really understand why they don’t get pulled for making their vans look that way?

I saw a whole load of them in North Wales this summer. Vans all decked out in dog unit decals and blue lights, plus search and rescue decals. Looked just like police vans but full of middle aged men taking themselves very seriously. All a bit weird.

We looked at them, found they were a complete bunch of arses. Quoted us over 7k for a kitchen and we have managed to get the equivalent for about 3k from diy kitchens.com. Sorry thats probably not helped much.

Yeah it’s got the same turbo, same ancillaries everything. Your right the 140 and 170 aren’t quite the same – not the case in the t5

Sorry I wasn’t being clear, I’m talking about the 2.0tdi in the t5.1 not the 1.9tdi which that thread is referring to. The 1.9 is different.

I think what maxtorque says is clearly true, however I’m not entirely sure that manufacturers don’t leave anything in reserve without downsides. Take the T5 for example the same engine (exactly the same engine) is sold in 3 different powerguises 84, 102, and 140bhp models. I don’t believe that remapping the 84 to the same level as one already sold by VW is going to be killing too many grannies with asthma.

Is there vw premium price on that though? I wondered if there was a better value transit alternative
That would be a Transit custom LWB or SWB depending on preference.

As a T5 owner with your budget the Transit would be my choice.

There is a VW scene tax, but the corollary is that they hold their price like rocks, so you get it back at the other end, plus the availability of spares and accessories is fantastic.

Is it a bkd (140) engine? Egr is at the front, easy enough to remove and have a good look at, it’ll be pretty gummed up even if it’s not the problem, the Cost of removing and cleaning is minimal (brake cleaner shifts it)

The throttle body and egr actuator valve is at the front, the egr cooler is on the back.

I had similar symptoms to this on my bkd, I went through all this stuff – taking the throttle body off and cleaning , checking the egr turned out it was a sooted up turbo – vw 2.0 tdis have a variable vane turbo that gets gummed up – causes the car to run too much boost.

Try reving the nuts off it in third up a hill and see if it overboosts? i.e goes into limp mode because of the overboost condition. A recon turbo is about 400. Not too hard to fit if you have the time.

Nurses bleep you constantly about these for patients in ITU, nothing to worry about. Can as been said be due to electrolyte abnormalities (but in my experience that’s not usually the case), provided you have a good diet and functioning kidneys your unlikely to have any electrolyte abnormalities.

We had it in a rented house. You can turn it on and watch the electric meter go into overdrive! Heat output was like an asthmatic coughing. I wouldn’t dream of even renting a house with an electric central heating system, let alone buying one.

Tbh if you wanted to heat a house electrically you may as well just put a fan/panel heater in each room and remove the wet system inefficiency and installation cost.

I always take Larium, doesn’t affect me at all, the advantage is you only need to take it once a week and it’s cheap. It sent my wife loopy though. You can always switch if you get weird symptoms.

Dont know much about economy10, but I had a house with an electric central heating system a few years ago. It was dreadful and cost a fortune to run, a big fortune.

Thanks guys. Yes budget around £27 per month on contract. P9 looks good i think. Not really a fan of Samsung phones for no other reason than irrational dislike. I’ve got a Nexus 6p which i like, makes me lean toward P9.
