The problem with doing this is that to get a good finish you need a number of Sanders ( Laglers are the best) which you can’t hire – coarse and fine types plus grades of sandpaper – you really don’t want to bugger up the floor with a bad sander. Bona mega seems to be the recommended polyurethane coating from what I’ve seen.

I recon thats fine, provided you clean up properly. Now what about doing a wee?

From the description you have given its pretty difficult to suddenly diagnose them, especially as the doctors who have seen and examined and taken a history haven’t come up with anything yet.

Chronic pain conditions frequently present with burning type pain. Any change in bowel habit is a cause for concern – what I would focus on is are there any other worrying features e.g. gi bleeding, weight loss, lethargy, unexplained anaemia. If this new pain is accompanied with those things (or they start to present) then I would be going back for another chat with the doctor.

Either that or its cat aids. There is a lot of it about.

No issues with our delivery. They checked the order once we’d made it and pointed out a couple of places we had made a mistake/ ordered the wrong thing.

    No complaints

Scott Genius 940? 29er, 150mm travel, gx eagle, dropper post, modern geometry, travel adjust etc. 3100 seems to fit the bill.

We have a DIY kitchens kitchen, can’t speak highly enough of it. Quality is good and it cost about half what wren Howdens et al wanted.

We have an integrated microcawe, no bother.

We got worktops from worktops direct were much cheaper than DIY kitchens for those.

I sort of wonder if this is all a deliberate ploy to crash the stock value of Tesla and thereby allow him to buy back a load of it at a reduced price i.e. much lower than the 420 that was touted a couple of weeks back.

Your right though swimming is the one thing that’s a bit problematic with glasses or contacts.

Extended wear are the ones you can leave in for up to a month. I find them pretty comfortable but I do have fairly tolerant eyes. I tend to leave them in for a couple of weeks and then not wear them for a while. For me it’s best of both worlds. Glasses are sort of a bit of my identity anyway.

Don’t know much about the ins and outs of it, but as an anaesthetist I work with lots of eye surgeons. They nearly all wear glasses.

My view about it, being a glasses wearer of many years and -7.5 in both eyes is that I really don’t mind wearing glasses and with extended wear lenses I can feel like I don’t have glasses when I want to. So for me the benefits aren’t much so I’m not prepared to take even the likely small risk of complications.

Just had two bikes stolen off the back of our van. Lloyds covered that no questions asked, and paid out more than the values they were covered for because they priced them up as more than the cover amount. Was very impressed tbh.

You might or might not…. your new parts are new… the plaster is still damp … the old parts might yet.

The old parts already had cracks in the places she is complaining about before we moved in, exactly the same places. We haven’t replastered the whole house just the bits that have been built and filled in the electrical chases with bonding and aims

You know when a mechanic changes your front forks, afterwards you notice some scratches at the dropouts on the back? You blame the mechanic, mechanic says we can sort them for you as we didn’t know if they were there or not before. You say I want a full respray from the most expensive paint shop in the land please.

we did a party wall act at the time the works were done. How does that affect things? need to go read it!

you can always get them on ebay, but the quality can be a bit hit and miss in my experience.

I had a look at said cracks this afternoon when I went round to speak to them – they are all hairline cracks. In my opinion caulk would do the job fine – its only cosmetic plaster cracking not the actual bricks underneath.

As has been said if it was settlement you would expect some new cracking in my house – which there is none – it may be due to vibration I will concede.

I really want to make good this for them – I just feel that they have gone to an expensive tradesperson – told them they are not paying we are and he has gone to town.

Everyperson who has seen the cracking i.e. my builder (not impartial i realise) and building control feel that the price quoted is ridiculous.

Hopefully our tradesperson can come up with a more reasonable quote – if he comes back the same then I guess we have to suck it up.

I’m not being an ass as you so eloquently put it. I’m offering to pay for remedial works just not to be ripped off. 1300 may be a trivial sum to you lot but to me it’s a lot of money especially at the end of a project.

Spoke to my builder who also has seen cracks and he laughed at the cost, is going to send one of his decorator s round. He also said given location and timing of cracks i.e. 3 months after rsj put in it was unlikely even our fault as settlement happens faster than that.

I’m obviously not as rich as most of you lot.

My builder is extremely good according to building control, but there you go just asking for opinions not to be called an asshole.

I’m not saying I don’t want to pay for it, just that the costs are taking the piss. I’m not an asshole you judgemental twazzock.

There was no post or pre survey, we are new to this and didn’t realise. The damage is tiny to her house in my opinion, we’ve been really upfront throughout.

I just spoke to our building control officer (who has seen the cracks in her house) who basically said it was our word against hers and she couldn’t prove it wasn’t there before and that she was being unreasonable in the level of repair work she was expecting, but for good will it was reasonable to have them repaired via our tradesperson of choosing.

Ok thanks for the replies. Do you think it’s unreasonable to then say, I’m not paying for your guy to do it but I will get my own decorator to fix it? I’m pretty sure when she says it’s not me paying the decorator get £signs in his eyes!

It doesn’t need replastering. Just caulking or a bit of aims and then painting at the most! I’m all for keeping neighborhood relations but I don’t feel it’s being extended to me. If it was me I’d offer to do it as cheap as poss, rather than using it as an excuse to have the whole place redone!

    benjamins11

Yes had a look, it’s small cracks easily fillable with caulk. The rooms shes complaining about don’t even touch our party wall, they are the other side of the house.

Basically I feel we may have caused the damage but it’s not certain by any means and she is trying to take the Mick out of us – I’m more than happy to repair any damage we have caused just not to be taken for a mug i.e 950 labour and 350 materials. Will certainly be getting an itemised quote and getting a decorator of our own to look.

Hence why I’d agreed to have the work done, I didn’t agree to have her whole house redecorated at exorbitant cost!

Someone stole the New Forest? That takes a lot of gall.

Yeah honestly, have a look at google maps, its just gone.

Ironically some friends of ours stayed there since the bikes were nicked, and they were warned that there had been bike thefts recently.

I think I might drop a line to camping in the forest though, security there is woeful. The staff on site were very helpful but essentially it was a shrug and a it happens.

Will get a picture. It was locked with a fairly chunky cable around the back wheel, but still susceptible to bolt croppers.

Police said there is no line of enquiry for them, so nothing doing. Pretty sure the Pace must be fairly unique now as there aren’t many left of them still being ridden.

Get some blue grit – its a skimming compound – bit like runny polyfilla – can cover over all sorts of issues. V easy to work with too. Bandq do a version called make good.

You also need eye dimensions – the size of lens you need plus base curve of the lens. Once you’ve had one contact lens prescription your good to go but need first one from opticians imho
