Mondraker Summum Team or an Intense 951, not sure 4.5K would be enough though.

I like mine, very good up hill and down dale, rear tyre clearance is not great with Maxxis 2.35 tyres. Cheap from Stif (£1350), but these are 08 bikes so no boost valve shocks etc.

If the total is less than £32 then no import duty is due. Just split the order to keep the value down (unless 1 item is over £32)
Hmm looks like the rules might have changed, import duty over £7 and vat over £18

I hope the 110 has different bearings as I've got a cane creek is8 and have found the lower bearing sealing to be a bit rubbish

Ours lives semi wild in the back garden, too cruel to keep it in a hutch/run. Collecting up it's 'doings' is a bit of a ball ache though.

I've done this on my mates Pikes:
1 you dont need to take the gate adjuster off, a socket will fit over the assy and onto the top-cap nut.
2, the red damper body is LH threaded onto the top-cap.
3, you can remove the bottom of the damper unit (black bit with the gate disc on it)by pushing in the 2 tabs at the bottom. This way you can get the spring right out.

I've got a mojo and the sus action is fantastic. Having said that I don't think it is best suited to UK conditions, rear tyre clearance is maxxis 2.35 max, the lower rear linkage is a crap collector (I have fashioned a mudguard) and small stones can (and have) get stuck inbetween the upper lopes link and the frame (very close clearance)…but the suspension action means you could ride up a wall!

Minion is a mint front tyre, been using one for the last few years.

The only 'scary' bit is the bottom of the black run (technical class only), and then only if you are tring to go fast as you can. It's a trail centre so everything is rollable.

I did the one earlier this year, great event format but as others have said the timing system left a bit to be desired. Very relaxed atmosphere and the fact you can run the sections as many times as you like to improve your time is pretty good. You should have done the STW weekender as that was even better!

got to be the Klein Adroit with the massive rigid forks and tri colour paint job. Back in the day I raced a Brave warrior, now you don't see many of those about, chain stays were fork blades!

keep your eye on the bearings in the lopes link, 3 of the 4 in mine came loose! wicked bike though, loved mine in the alps this year, 160 forks for next year though!

and the adjustable travel on pikes cannot really go wrong. It's also useful when putting the bike in the car.

it does have proper stops for the seatpost cable, this is just a proto they are showing off. I was a bit gutted when i saw this having bought my mojo only a few months ago, but then it will be over £2k and my mojo was 1350 ….so I can take it!

Don't forget vectors too, I had a pair and they were pretty good until all the bushes went sloppy, which occured regularly!

wicked Brave Warrior frame with a set of fork blades for rear chain stays!

I quite fancy one for a rigid hack bike, but the chainstays look really spindly…any record of breakages?

I suppose in summation what I am saying is they are all good but let someone else buy it new and take the depreciation hit, then swoop in and pick up the seconhand bargain! or something. Can't really argue about this as I don't have any of them, but would be happy owning any of them.

nope they're all good frames, just like paying £500 for a 853 steel frame when Merlin bang them out for £300, crap name, good frame. A VX220 is a good version of an Elise but I would rather have the Lotus!

well you make the choice, on-one ti456 with RS revs for £1000 or a frame only, made in the same factory by the same people for £1000, oh and a 'better' brand name.

    definitley!

Don't remember rovers being made in the BM factory! yes I am sure the Lynskey frames have the shamrock etc and the welds might be dressed a bit more but ultimatley it's just a branding excercise and also volume discount. I very much doubt that many on-ones or Ragleys will be sold in the US…probably some kind of clause in the agreement

    benjag

well they are all Ti tubes welded together by the same people! Ti grades probably all the same, probably the same grade welding…what is your point?

    benjag

that's only true if a, you buy into that whole 'brand' bullshit, and b, give a shit what anyone else thinks.

I would say it is more prone to chain suck for some reason. I ripped the stainless steel protector plate off mine in peak mud. Even with new chain/chainring it still likes to pull up the chain when it get really muddy. I'm going to take a couple of links out of my chain to see if it helps. it is well documented on MTBR as being strangley susceptible.

That said they are a mint bike and I can't wait to give mine a blast round Les Gets in a weeks time!

my n95-8gb has survived 18 months in the camelback dropped from a stationary car window and has a mint camera, music player and GPS…does it all.
