Get kettlebells. A 16kg and a 24kg. Too much to tell you here but go to CrossFit.com for videos and Dragon Door.
I SWEAR TO GOD, I’ve done it all but kettlebells, body weight squats and push ups will see you right.

I cannot say suit and tie LOUD ENOUGH. I work for a international company, and while we don’t recruit on Mont Blanc pens and leather attache cases, attention to detail at the first stage is noted, it IS suggestive of whether you will go the extra mile. No interviewer will mark you down for looking good but…..

This is the crappest pump I’ve ever known, I could fart up a dingy faster than this blows up a crips packet

igm- the maddest thing is when i got into the car in the morning it was on the radio that a guy had been killed by a falling tree in strong winds and I thought whats the chance of that happening and 20 minutes later WHAMMO!

“wasn’t interested” should have said “wasn’t injured”

The police know but the A1 was chaos yesterday, lorries on their side and all sorts. As I had no witnessess and I wasn’t interested they didn’t seem that phased about it, gave me a reference number and on my way

At the time, I was strangely calm, I’ve not got a mark on me so it was more ‘bollocks, my screens smashed’; now I’ve time to sleep on it I’m coming to terms with the fact that I could have died

“constant fuse changes for cig lighter when using satnav and bulbs blowing all the time

    are these two things connected?”

I’m not sure, the Ford garage my lease manager sends me to don’t comment, my local garage say Mondeos are renowned for electrical issues; as it’s a company and not my money that pays for it it’s an annoying inconvenience, if it was my money I’d get rid.

I’ve had 7 bulbs go since September, ford ran a diagnostics and said it was fine……..

I’ve got got an 08 Titanium X estate and its love/hate at the moment.

    Pros-

-80000 miles and no mechanical issues
    -Extremely comfortable
    -Great spec
    -Huge boot
    -42.3 mpg (diesel)
    -Good handling and it shifts

    Cons-

-Multiple electrical issues since 60000 miles, constant fuse changes for cig lighter when using satnav and bulbs blowing all the time
-Dash board computer stops working in the cold??
-18 inch wheels and low pro tyres mean its twitchy in the wet and worthless in the snow

If it wasn’t for the shocking time it gives me in the snow I’d have another tomorrow but I’m getting a Skoda Yeti next time

Check out crossfitendurance.com and also a book called “the four hour body”. There’s alot being written now on high intensity versus high volume e.g 400 metre repeats, tabata etc. Also google Brian Mackenzie at Unscared, he runs 100 mile races on 6 hours a week training and knows his stuff

I’ve taken the skin off my helmet being a bit rough with the wife but it’s never shed on it’s own accord; maybe it’s seasonal and it’s simply readying itself for spring.
I remember a lad at school brought a real snake skin in to ‘show and tell’ when I was young, you should take it to work once it’s fully off and convince people it’s the skin of a rare reptile

Hora, get yourself an Espresso machine (or a decent stove top) and a thermal mug. Spent £200 on a Gaggia Classic
3 years ago, get used about 4 times a day, paid for itself at least 4 times over, best coffee based decision I made

I’m in the same position. 4 and 3 year old boys and it gets nasty, on the ground with eye gouging and biting BUT, as you say, they seem to enjoy it. I’d anyone knows the answer I’d be interested as well

I rode on a rigid 29er last year (Kona Unit). It was very hard on the upper body, especially hands, despite having a 2.4 upfront.
I’m riding the same bike this year and have toyed with suspension but my wife says its for pussies and I should MTFU.

Tazzy- you don’t have to tell me about the electrical problems, change at least 1 fuse per month but as Nonsense says, the drive in the dry is superb. Do you buy a car based on 2 bad winters and 3 near death experiences?

Allowance isn’t a choice. Any 4 door 2000cc diesel upto £25000, can spend more but will be deducted of salary over 3 year life of car. I’ve looked at 4×4 Audis and Volvos but very pricey compared to Skoda (which gets faultless reviews)

Motorway duties is the thing, drive 4000+ per month but live at the top of a big hill and literally have parked a mile from my house for all of December due to my Mondeo spinning out on anything greater than 5 degrees

I don’t dispute (and would expect) that the design and finish on the Dogma reflects the price tag and it’s flag ship position but on the bikes most people can afford, let’s say 2-3k max, you’re paying for stickers, as the OPs photos illustrate

    BenHouldsworth

Exactly. An industry type would probably know numbers but there’s only a few factories making high end carbon frames for all the big bike companies; Heretige and Italian bike companies got very diluted when they outsourced to the far East. I know some Italian companies do carbon ‘inhouse’ but it’s not your big prestige names

I couldn’t agree more about the pleasure of owning something boutique as I’ve got a Moots road bike but when it comes to generic carbon frames they’re all made by a Taiwanese chick in a dust mask so the question is…which stickers do you prefer on your frame

    BenHouldsworth

I can’t tell you which factory but there are ‘striking’ similarities between some of the Ribble carbon frames and Pinarellos; to the extent it’s been commented on in magazine reviews.
If you’re thinking of something like a Parlee then you are getting a custom built, lugged carbon frame and the additional cost is probably relative but for molded carbon I think you are getting more than your moneys worth with Ribble/Planet X/Pearson etc

49ers suggestion only works on Ipod classics. Apple wised up to the hard drive option allowing ‘piracy’ of non purchased files so omitted this option from the touch and iPhone
