£150 million is lip service, Apple turned £7 billion profit in a quarter, that’s more than my company, which is global, does in 4 years.

Lets wait and see if Jobs’ left any money to charity.

I don’t imagine he’ll leave £28 billion, it’s how you behave in life that matters

you would be hard pressed to find a company of a similar size and structure that is prepared to take anywhere near the number of risks or make the amount of investment in its business that Apple does.

That level of investment is easy when its on the back of profits made from cheap labour.

Since 2008 Apple have launched over 350 legal suits including one against a fruit seller; at the moment they are in court with Samsung for innovative infringement.

At the same time the University of Indiana keeps a record of all philanthropic donations over $1000000 in the US, Jobs name has never appeared, Bill gates has given £28 billion.

Jobs has actively tried to stifle the innovation of others while doing nothing of worth with his wealth.

THE THINGS YOU OWN WILL END UP OWNING YOU, and the ongoing defence of a man/corporation who make shiney stuff makes this very evident.

Duntstick is right, all these distributors know we are here and you only have to look back to the CRC debaticle to see the effects of poor customer service and communication; the SS comment still stands though

I failed my first test for speeding (33mph through a 30mph zone DOH!), second for hesitation puling out on to Leeds ring road during rush hour, passed third time.

I certainly drive with great awareness in built up areas, pretty much anywhere with housing or paths, but on motorways I go too fast

This is why you should ride rigid single speeds, then you would have these problems.

Beware the public toilets in the park near the Rembrandt museum, they have glass doors that frost when you lock them.

I failed to fully turn the lock and couldn’t understand why everyone was staring as I emptied myself.

The nice thing about the Pauls adaptors is the hinged clamp so if you ride a bike with swap outs you can quite literally just take your gears on and off by turning a couple of hex bolts.

I’d go Pauls purely because I think the hinge is a nice, well thoughtout touch.

Mr Woppit, as someone who’s company does business with Iran I’m very much aware of the realities of life within the country.

Ahmadinejad is at best quirky and at worst a mentalist but on a day to day basis it is a pleasant and enjoyable place to be and visit with gracious, welcoming people who DO have the freedom to debate despite the propaganda you see on western television.

Given that last night a man was executed in the USA despite the fact that all the witnesses have withdrawn their statements maybe we should address our own legal systems first.

With regards to the tourists they remain ****.

He is making some fairly acute observations whilst clearly being a Jew hating nut job.

It’s pretty shit that people walk out on him. Shows how blinkered the west is to other points of view.

    Pretty much sums it up

    using innocent tourists

Knowing how unpopular the USA are in that part of the world you’ve got to be a bit of a **** to choose it as your backpacking destination

Petrol in Lanzarote ( I know miles from Mallorca) was 0.8 euro a litre unleaded

How the **** can fuel on an island in the middle of the Atlantic be 60 pence a litre? is it not taxed at all?

Not myself but a family friend is a retired BA captain, flown all around the world, and he tells stories of his Boeings being buzzed by objects that moved in ways he couldn’t explain; one incident was confirm by Italian air traffic control, I’ll try and find a link to the report

I did this years Keilder 100 with a Garmin 500 and had no problem with waterproofing at all.

I can honestly say I’d now be confident to take it out in any weather.

For me the features cover everthing I need.

    The estate must be massive.

It is huge and not the easiest car to park in a multistorey; I’d advise parking sensors if you choose one

If tax is a concern look at the Passat diesel Blue Motion engines; I’m moving over to one from a 2 litre Mondeo and saving £90 a month in tax, over the next few years the emissions portion of company car tax is going to get harsher so if you’re keeping the car for 3 years it’s worth taking into account

Done Kielder 100 on mine twice (failed twice), Mary Townley countless times, CRC marathons and love it (its the only MTB I own)

Weighes in a 20.5 pounds for a 20 inch frame with Arch/Hope wheels, Thomson bits and afterburner chainset.

I rolls fast, eats up miles, handles better than its rider and does everything I need as an XC/all day rider.

I often think about a nice carbon hardtail or full suss but quickly get over it.

My reason for changing is the bb7s got destroyed at Kielder yesterday; the rotating adjusters are jammed with grit and having taken them apart before in an attempt to clean them I know this will end with an epic fail. I like them in action but my experience is a full winter or a rainy day at Kielder can destroy them, but given the cost of the replacement some riders are talking about a pair of brakes isn’t bad going

Started with new pads, used another 3 pairs and bailed at 62 miles when I needed a 4th pair; winner at 8 hours 22 and first single speeder at 9 hours 40

To think this was a B side but from when they were hungry; I guess they’re in their 40s, they could fill stadiums forever just singing Under the bridge (like Williams and Angels), you get lazy.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say it’s shit

Thanks for breaking the silence, as a life long fan its the biggest piece of shit they’ve done and given they’re all sober at the moment they don’t have any excuses. Thank god for Pirate Bay, I’d have felt raped of a tenner if I’d bought it

Honestly, given 5 years away, I think its a poor effort.

Just like when John Frusciante left before on One Hot Minute, his presence is obviously missed.

Generally, on RHCP albums where Frusciante is present, there are multiple singles, on this there are few.

How is it for over talking? Are there plenty of opportunities for overtaking?

I set off mid pack last year and it felt like a peloton for the first 10 miles, there were times when I thought I would never be on my own then suddenly it spread out.

There were some bottle necks when it hit the first bit of singletrack and as a single speeder it was annoying as all the geared riders dropped down to their granny rings, jammed there chains and caused me to lose all momentum.

Take a copy of miketuallys timing spreadsheet and ride your own race, don’t get frustrated in the first hour as you’ll still have 90 miles to to do your overtaking.

How’s the connection between the light unit and battery? mines not the usual snug sleeve and will probably need holding together with a bit of tape for security each ride

40% tax is currently paid on salaries between £35,001-£150,000.

My understanding (happens to me) is you will will pay 40% tax on the monthly salary paid that includes the bonus if it is greater than £2916.75

Your payroll department knows the thresholds and every month multiples your monthly salary by 12 to see what your annual earnings would be were they to continue at that level.

If in subsequent months your wage reverts to less than £2916.75 your tax will revert to 20%.

In April the tax office will do a retrospective review on the end of year total and make adjustments for any over/underpayment.
