My lad is 20 just past his test 3weeks ago. All the online places like meerkat were near 3k on a Vauxhall corsa. We got it down to £1200 on a 2004 1.2 sxi corsa him as main driver with black box fitted and the wife on the policy as a second driver. This is fully comp with breakdown cover with tesco.. It’s worth spending the day phoning round and shopping on line. Also we found the newer the car it was cheaper but not by much.
Good luck hope you find some thing for her.

Look for damage on front chain rings or a stiff link on the chain.

My wife dropped her car off to get the air con re gassed and crapfit sorry kwick shit as it was round corner from her works..when she went to pick the car up they told her that the front tyres had a rip/cut in the side wall the tyre, she told the it was not like that the day before as it was having its mot done, they said Your mot station is crap and missed it..I informed my mate who did mot and he hit the roof. He went round with my wife and kicked off with them over what they said to her. She got a free tyre never been back since.

I liked it did find it slow a times. I like the way they made it ie from making/dealing drugs to pay for his medical bill to it turning in to greed and cooking just for the money.

Thanks for the info. We are not going to put my self or wife as main driver as it’s not worth it in the long run.

Iv got a Bak-Rak fitted with 2 cheap roof carriers. Mine fits to the ball with a 19mm bolt and a locking wheel and a key lock.
They are heavy but is very stable when fitted I drove up to Scotland from manchester last year and it was fine doing 70mph ish most of the way with 2 full sus bikes on it.. I was a bit unsure about them before I got mine but as I only payed £35 off eBay it was worth a try and has been fine. They also sell an extra bit so you can put 4 bikes on to the rack but not tryed it. Only thing I don’t like is you can not get in to the boot of the car with bikes fitted (no tilt).

Had a 54 plate for 5 years 2ltr petrol 147bhp never had a prob with the car only sold it as clutch was on its last legs with 135k on the clock earl models had rusty rear arches and rear light seals let water in to the boot. On a good run motor way I was getting 44mpg and around town/ lanes I was getting about 28mpg. I got a civic to replace it, I like the civic but wish I had got a new mazda 6. Not the most fun to drive but a great car boot is massive.
