What’s wrong with sending her a picture of the dog, maybe send many pictures of the dog, and some could you include you both ;-)

I went from Deore to MT5 up front and MT4 rear, and have found them to be great, delivered cost was £125

Kevin and the lady Dr really didn’t like each other did they? There was a couple of times Kevin questioned the odd design decisions and she just muttered ‘we are quite happy.’

It was palpable :-) mind you Kevin pointed out the bleeding obvious; lounge looking at back garden rather than front view which was fantastic, removing that bedroom in the corner would have enhanced the front room.

A favourite of mine is to start at the Gytes, do the above trails already mentioned or whatever, but end up at the mast for a final descent of Carls Lane > Ho Chi Min > Zoom N Bust > Fort\Daves trail, drops you out with a short ride back to the Gytes.

I measured this on Strava and from mast to end of ZnB is 2.4 miles :D

    HID lights

I wouldn’t have said HIDs were a dead end as such more a stepping stone. HIDs combined with the then more common NiMH batteries gave great light output and increased runtimes, then coupled with Li-Ion batteries the same runtime for less weight or increased runtime for similar weight.

Then LEDs had developed sufficiently to be a viable option, although I’m not sure the light pattern and output has greatly exceeded a HID, the price has though.

In traditional “reccomend what you have”
Don’t know what pikes or lyriks cost but have a look at MRP stage forks
I’ve just got a set and they are absolutely brilliant.

In a similar vein of ignoring the question; I’ve just fitted Marzocchi 350CR 160mm and they’re fantastic as well being a bit different – win win :-)

Avoid anything low fat, including lean mince, adds to the flavour and satiates better

Carter USM (no longer playing live)
Kodaline – fantastic sound and a light show to match
    The Gaslight Anthem
    Manics
The Alarm – the sincerity in Mike Peters shines through
    Frank Turner
AC\DC in 1985 blew me away

I find all live music special

Perhaps people can do what they want rather than what they’re told.

Except it’s worse, as everyone’s just following everybody else :D Just like the thing for wearing Ralph Lauren shirts, c’mon people wear something different :?

I can recommend the Scottish Borders, well maybe not Hawick  as being a brilliant place to live and bring up kids, and if you don’t have kids, then a brilliant place to live :-)

Yep, a bike gets in the back with space for all the clobber as well. In fact it’s pretty good on runs to Ikea ;-)

When was the last time you bought a decent bit of furniture? And where was it made?

    I bought this:

This is what they say about themselves:

They are proud to be producing each piece to order in the UK by hand

    Always fancied one of these…

They always struggled with the spec at specific price points, their buying power wasn’t as good. I found the late 90s and early 2000s stuff to be great, had a great image too. A design point they had was long tt\short stem setup, certainly on the hardtails.

Interesting someone earlier mentioned the dawg being one of their favourite bikes, mine is the 2004 Coiler, low bb, 68 head angle, short stem, 5 inch travel – all sounds rather familiar.

    Genuine question this..

I thought all Police cars had to be easily recognised by Joe Public?? In that all this stealth stuff sort of gets pushed under the radar and we’re non the wiser, do wonder how legal all this stuff is.
I mean, should we shift out to the way if it’s hacking at 90+ on the roads when we’re not sure exactly what it is? flashing or not (in some cases)

We’ve had unmarked police cars for years, isn’t that the same?

If going out of business then getting asset-stripped by Fox is on the up, then yes. (to be fair, for Marzocchi it might actually be)

Ah didn’t know that, thought they just gone down hill. Plushest forks I’ve had were Marzocchi.

    bellerophon

    Yep.

    Has always been the same.

You just didn’t notice, or let it bother you, until you got old and moany.

(I’m just old currently, haven’t got moany yet)

    Probably

    Nail on the head.

If you are one of the ones moaning, then you are simply getting old

You are saying exactly the same things your parents said while you were rolling your eyes and ignoring them.

Nope; as it’s not just youngsters, everyone is at it it seems

Codeine looks ok but by **** its ugly. Marzocchi forks must be an even bigger unknown than BOS are (which, incidentally, I’ve been running for about 2 years on my Five with no maintenance and no issues – they’re awesome and I’d have another BOS equipped bike in an instant).

I know Marzocchi lost their way a bit a wee while ago, but aren’t they back on the up?

    On-One Codeine 27.5 £2000 – seems like a bargain

Good luck and just bear in mind 40 is a breeze in comparison to 50 when the body really does strart to require rest and maintenance after anything remotely epic

Nope, 50 here, loving it :-)

I think a lot of people are so indoctrinated in doing things the ‘Apple way’ on phones that when it doesn’t work the same its automatically sh!t.

I reckon this has a lot to do with it.. it’s getting quite boring really

I haven’t experienced the death of a partner myself but I’ve heard it said that a relationship ending because your partner has found someone else can be harder to accept that if they had died. Death brings an obvious natural closure, however sad and devastating it might be, but your partner being alive but not wishing to be with can apparently be worse. I can understand that.

    It is.

Things have changed since I did my CBT in 1996; but I did the CBT to see if I liked biking, then rode with L plates for a year before passing test in 97 – aged 32, two v young kids, first bike Suzuki GSXR 600 LOL, now still riding almost 20 years on.

I believe the year on L plates was the best thing I did.

Buy a bike that you want, it’s not the bike that will make you unsafe..

LOL, gobuchul, maybe I bit too easily, but then I have just bought a 1987 B&O CDP and amp :D and everyone loves to slag of B&O

I know what you mean on the 20k stuff, each to their own. My pet hate is the cable thing though, especially in the digital realm.

Like I said just bought some old B&O kit LOL, my friends laugh at me behind my back ;-) but I have the last laugh with the sleek, clean minimilist design…. sounds good to boot :-)
