Not used trailangel. Have a follow me and it is a top piece of kit. Only downside is it is heavy when folded up onto the parent bike so a bit odd to ride but not an issue on most terrain. Would definitely recommend.

Tout terrain singletrailer expensive but single wheel and 8 inches of suspension that works. Beautifully engineered by the German folk.

Has worked for me several times with wire bead dual ply. Much easier with some rooms than others and be tyres easier than old ones.

Dual ply a must. Never had too much of a problem getting them to seat tubeless on stans flow. Minion DHF 60a rear with super tacky minion DHF up front 4 years in a row. The mud year swapped front out for a hillbilly. If it is much it is really muddy. Did I mention dual ply….

Didn’t quite understand kilos solution? Anyone else bought one and sorted a connection to a tyre?

Would echo this with recent experience of Santa Cruz / jungle. Blur TRc frame cracked and 5010 frame offered as replacement. On request replacement frame changed to Nomad as this worked better with parts I already had. No fuss. Just sorted.

Never ridden the lite category but have done quite a few of SES rounds. Lite is usually 3/5 of a long day distance wise as you usually do 3 out of the 5 ish stage the standard route does. There are not usually time constraints for the transitions. Lite usually misses out the most technically difficult stages. Get them booked! Fantastic series.

Have got an x2 on order for a Nomad. Have discussed with TF before ordering. The slight discrepancy is just 2 companies using slightly different inch to metric conversions and not an issue.

Have a nomad warranty frame on the way so shock less. Was asking this very question of one of the technicians at TF tuned. They were x2 all the way.

Can confirm it will sort of roll but was on a 224. More comparable in top trumps style “fear factor”to the As step down than any of the other suggestions IMHO.

Any results up yet? Also photos? Also if anyone thinks they were braking bumps they might be better doing laps of a snooker table!

Really good race and pleased to confirm the course wasn’t sanitised. Suspect a 34+ pound bike before the addition of 5 pounds of mud is never going to be the thing for a fireroad sprint. As ever need more fitness. Excellent weekends racing.

Hadn’t thought about the thick thin ring thing. Will probably still go for a chain device but worth a thought.

Running a top guide already. Anyone know if the MRP 34 – 36 works with a 32 (the strait line 34 – 36 is supposed to). Anyone running a straitline?

Many bikes have been the perfect bike on a given day on a given trail. That is of course until I face plant around the next corner. A few moments stand out…

My Sunn Tox once it had a set of Mozo Pro 3.5s and a Hope Mini on the front. With a riser bar and bar ends obviously.

First run down a hill on my first full sus (original SC blur)

First DH race on my 224 realising how much you can get away with on a big bike.

Orange Blood with CCDB at last years mega until I broke my shoulder and then my saddle fell off (bit sore from that point on)

Think the blood is the bike that over the years I regret the demise of the most. Perfect?????…. There will always be the next new and shiny upgrade waiting round the corner lust after.

Bleed. Easy enough to do. Seem to remember a service at hope is a total bargain once you factor in that they put new pads in (you could always hang on to the old ones).

Already have an inflator and they are ace. However problems with non UST tyres hasn’t been getting them to seat. Have torn numerous tyres, including an ardent and swampthing, usually on the tread itself. Pretty keen to go with UST (dual ply run tubeless) for this reason.

Will be using stans flow. Saw voullez walking back to town last year. He didn’t seem in the best of moods.

Megavalanche qualifying race. Handlebars hit by another rider on a fast fire road section. Sore. Main race was a bit sore too. Turns out I was yelping like a little girl because I had broken my shoulder. Still beat my brother.

1+ mikewsmith. From what you are saying go for 160 up front. Could think about a 140 bike and a second hand 160 fork from classifides. Big brakes. Dual ply. Dont wait for 2 years. Just book it and dont take out too seriously.

Thanks again people. Keep it coming if anyone kows how to open the damper.

They look like the chaps. They feel fairly plush as just cleaned out (No damping currently) so will doubtless bugger about with them until they are as you recommend.

    Cheers people.

Too many to list some in truely spectacular locations. Best/worst I have had misfortune witnessing in progress was some unfortunate having a wild halfway down the 2010 megavalanche qualifying race on an open section. Had the headcam running so his indignity is forever recorded for posterity.

Have heckler. Excellent but a bit steep. Much improved by offset bushes and a works angle headset (for me). Also pretty light frame. Stumpy gets good reviews but mate tested one last week and had a few problems including cables eating into frame under bb. Not ridden one though so wait for words from the wise.

First year used a Blood for the Quali and the race. Last year used a 224 for the quali ut regretted it. Blood again for both this year. As above, you can do it on any bike. I personally would avoid a hardtail (Knew a guy that did it and regretted it) and would got for somthing fairly slack if you can. Dual ply tyres a must IMHO. Only really important thing is to get it booked now. Don`t put it off til next year. you wont regret it.

Had this problem recently. Have a heckler but the most recent swingarm has the same pivot as the butcher. Spoke to jungle who import santa cruz and they said that the bearing tends to sit half on the threaded section of the axle which seems like woefully poor design to me. They suggested glueing the bearing to the shaft with the locktight glue stuff (If need be then i can go and look up the code) that comes in the pro pack. This means that if the bearing gets a bit sticky then it wont rotate on the axle and wear the threads away leading to huge play developing. The propack includes new bearings and axle and costs £30.

I suspect it might be worth trying another set of hopes as I run 2 sets of V2s (DH and enduro bikes) and pad life has always been very long. Used an almost spent set on the front for the day/night enduro at inners last weekend and they look the same after a long day of being abused in the mud.

There are always tons of suggestions about how to bed them in but realistically I try to just use them for a few runs before before getting them wet and muddy.

Can`t really comment on other makes as tried superstar and the braking surface fell off when they got hot. Stuck to hope since but assume there are other good pads around.
