[/quote]CYB got an enduro on this weekend? Not sure if it’ll all be open

Welsh enduro on Sunday, one day event, some will be practising tomorrow.
3 stages,2 stages on the old Red Bull track now called the Tarw and one next to the centre,Beginning of the End.
The event starts off over the road at the old CYB cafe.
Rest of CYB should be normal.

I use one of these for my i pad air to import from an usb stick.
Files need to be mp4,create a DCIM folder on the stick, rename video files to an 8 digit number and they go straight in to your photo folder on your i pad.No need for i tunes.

“meditation” type stuff in the past, I just never got it

    Meditation comes in many forms!
It can be prayer, colouring, calligraphic handwriting even base jumping.
It’s a technique for concentrating the mind, forcing it to be quiet if you like.
Mindfulnesses is only one vehicle to take where you need to go.
It’s very subtle and effective and works for a lot of people.
However some minds are more stubborn and need different techniques.
Zen meditation is a step above and requires more gumption.

The mind and body needs to be in harmony, when this harmony is not in synch then depression rears its ugly head, however its not ugly at all!
It’s to be welcomed as a natural invitation to pay attention to what your body and mind is telling you.
It’s an opportunity for spring cleaning if you like.

I know it’s not easy but if we can quiet the mind,it then gives us the chance too see what is behind the dark door,it’s not that scary, you might also find some light!.

This course sorted most of my shit out!
It’s not easy by a long haul.
    Life sucks sometimes!

Is it worth buying a budget bullet blender?

With the help of basketball team The London Lions, Cherry Healey investigates whether cheaper bullet blenders can compete with more expensive ones.

    What should I expect?

Strong winds and rain on Friday and maybe snow :D
It was closed last weekend, should be open this week.

Don’t let that put you off! It’s a brilliant place.
Fast uplift, friendly staff and great cafe.

Bike wise, you’ll be fine on non DH,recommend running tubeless.
They have spare tubes in the shop.
I would have a Full face if your going to ride the reds and blacks.
Goggles are a must with strong winds.

I ride Antur weekly, absolutely love the place!
    You’ll have a blast!

I have the same bike
Use it mainly at CYB and its not often I’ll use all the travel there.
Been to Antur and BPW,it was fine on the blues but used all the travel on the reds.
For the riding you do,i would say 150mm is more than enough.
I saw a rider at BPW on the AM and he’d put 150mm pikes on his and absolutely loved it :D rear was stock, rode mostly uplifts though.

    I started 2 yrs ago at 49.
Get some good protective gear and proper shoes,i crashed a lot in the first year, riding above my technical skills, lack of fitness and getting tired, just small mistakes but they hurt a lot.
Get yourself booked on a Jedi course, this is well worth it as a beginner.
Do some yoga or other core training, this helps when you crash, believe me :)
Stay away from Strava! If you’re very competitive :)
Other than that have fun! It’s an amazing sport to get into.
I did 8 gravity Enduro races this year and loved every second, just bought my first downhill bike at 51 so it not too late to start! :)

Clearly I’m missing something, anyone have any tips on getting this past my inner scepticism

Thepurist summary on meditiation is pretty spot on,acceptance and observation is the key.
Your inner sceptic’s purpose is to stop you from meditating, these parts of our personality are not too keen on being observed as it takes away there influence over you.
You can’t get past them, they are part of you,by observing and accepting they eventually go quiet.
Whenever your distracted just bring your focus back to the breath.
There are various ways to maintain the focus, counting breaths is one, focusing on the passage of air at your nostrils is the one i use.
Find out which one suits you.
Meditiation is a disiplined excercise in concentration that requires effort.

I quite fancied an AM29 but worried about the weight of it.

    32lbs
I put some helium balloons inside the frame to help with that :D
Slightly on the heavy side but it’s a do it all 130 mm bike.

Thinking it will get easier when you hit 40 and in the old giffers category is a mistake. As you get older you get left with all the really fit dudes or ex-pro’s.

    So true :D
I’m in my 2nd year of comp in the old farts cat :D
First couple of races i got whipped by almost everyone in my cat.
Entered a round of UKGE were i was a minute back on the top 3 on each stage.
This was a real wake up call for me,top ten on strava at my local course but this didn’t equate to anything near my race results.
Fast fwd to this year and i’ve cut back those times to around 30 seconds and some stages i’ve been in the top 3,had a podium at the Irish Champs so im much quicker this year.

What’s changed it for has been mainly riding with faster riders, done some more downhill, jump course and i practice a bit more on drops and jumps, pumping and so on.
My fitness is about the same, skill level has gone up and i’m more confident on different terrain now.

Sometimes it’s quicker to run with the bike if you have the incorrect tyre choice. were not all born mud kings
