Plus no-deal also hurts the EU and its members, albeit less than it hurts us.

47% drop in house prices might hurt!

This book helped me a lot.

“This book has given me a different perspective on a way to help myself. Instead of going through the long process of psychotherapy and analyzing the reasons why I do the things that I do, it has you start in the present and accept your feelings and emotions without suppressing them. I have spent many years suppressing my feelings and not dealing with them because of guilt. This book is helping me to accept the feelings that I have as they come up from my subconscious. There is a lot of information in this book that if understood and applied can change a person’s life”

Raced there last year in Welsh Champs for the first time.
I was Happy to get down in one piece, one hell of a gnarly track,in the wet, great fun, well worth checking out, proper DH track.
I didn’t see any spectators, in the Star Wars section, during the race, not actually sure if it was allowed, only saw a couple of marshalls, might be ok for the big race.
If it’s wet,it will a cracking race to watch!

Not many pain free days at 54.

Still race DH,gets harder every year, training wise and healing takes a long long time.

Difficult to stay motivated as well.Anyway, won my second Welsh champs gold this year in the old farts cat,so that will keep me going for another year.

There’s a car park at the rear of the Grapes Hotel, ask the landlord, should be fine.

    Good food there as well.

Failing that, park at the Trawsfynydd Power station lakeside cafe car park.

Snapped mine at Antur last August. No op offered.Probably my age 54 :)

Healng time was pretty good around 3 weeks until i was running and biking.

Full MTB  around 8 weeks and DH about 10 weeks.

Didn’t use a sling for more than 3 days, drank lots of skimmed milk(apparently more calcium in skimmed)

Fusion was around 3 weeks i think.Used a lot of ice packs to aid inflammation.

    That’s the plan!

Lost fitness this winter, after a crash at Antur last September, breaking my collarbone.Knee problem also limited my trail running intensity ,so had to go down in distance.

On the up now,ran my fastest time in 12 months, last week and back on sufferfest.Just started indoor bouldering, wish I’d started earlier,,getting arm pumps at 54 is blooming great .

Low esteem can in some ways be linked to childhood trauma, neglect or abuse.

When we experience certain traumas in non supportive, empathetic environment,we tend to construct a coping mechanism, that aid in suppressing these toxic memories.

As adults, the coping mechanisms, come under stress and struggle to maintain order, which can result in depression.

The earlier traumas, can no longer be contained and require some kind of resolution or release.

This in itself, emotional clearing, is very difficult work and is best done with a professional who is trained in this field.

If you want to read about this topic, then John Ruskan’s book might be a good place to start.

    All the best,hope this helps!

There’s no shelter from the wind at Antur,so best to keep it low on windy days.Recommend Full face, some body armour and DH tubes. Hard going on the body,so it’s best to take a break.

I’ve ridden there over a 100 times, absolutely love the place, great cafe, good banter and testing tracks.

    Enjoy!

Tracks were fine, most of them are sheltered under the trees.

There was some dusting,on the 50 to 1 line, fine otherwise.

Bit muddy and slick,Mary’s front and back worked ok.

    Enjoy,have a blast!

Seeing a proper [Sports] Physio is definitely the right approach I reckon.

I had this doing a Winter season on the snow in Canada:- Foam Roller, Lacrosse Ball, wobble board, stretching and strengthening exercises sorted it.

    Cheers!
I’m back running!! Started doing some yoga and gone down in intensity, seems to have setteled down now.

I work offshore and do 7 nights of 12 hrs and then change over to 7 days of 12 hrs.
Absolutely hate the changeover, takes around 4 days to be normal again.
Immune system takes a beating, lack of sleep and poor diet.
I’ve started using Huel as diet supplement ,this has helped a great deal for me.Sleeping is still a struggle so i just practice mindfulness techniques instead, sleep eventually comes.
Some of my workmates use melatonin, which available onboard, seems to work for them but i’ve never tried it.

Aren’t you a bit confused there? You’re saying that during a flight your depression lifted despite hypoxia (i.e. lack of oxygen). But it was a relief when you got back on the ground and your depression returned.

    I don’t get it.
I meant it was a relief during flight, forgot a full stop there.

Seems hypoxia, causes dopamine elevation for some people, and for others,a negative effect, due to low serotonin.
I’m one of the lucky ones,i guess.

Maybe Llving in a hypoxic environment, might help to alleviate depression, for some ?

Can Living at Altitude Lead to Depression?
    https://www.mensjournal.com/health-fitness/can-living-at-altitude-lead-to-depression-20141204/

hypoxia also causes the brain to make more dopamine — which is generally linked to rewarding activities. So depending on your genetics, if you have a predisposition to lower serotonin levels or depression and anxiety, you could trip over the fact that your brain isn’t making as much serotonin, and be affected by the altitude. But if you’re someone who loves coming here and feel at home on the mountains, that’s the dopamine elevation effect explaining why you’re happy to live there.

When i suffered with depression in the past, i found that during flight,my depression lifted. The only explanation for this, was the slight hypoxia created in the cabin, causing a mood change.
It was a relief,as soon as i hit the ground, the heavy mind returned.
These days i find exercise a good remedy, in keeping it at bay.

Anyone with experience of Patellar tendonitis?
Going to see a physio,in the next few weeks,to confirm my diagnosis.
Would be good to know if anyone has managed to beat this.
