Hi wildrnes, yes if you could copy me in on the emails that would be great. Won't be able to make Dewsbury, mainly because Dewsbury scares me a little, but also because I won't have the car.

    Look forward to meeting up.

Hi northern dan, yep we still.null

We are meeting at New Mill car park, please tell me you have read the fact the this is tuesday, not thursday, this is due to my incompetence.

New mill itself is HD9 7JU.

The car park is opposite greenhill bank road.

I chuffin' hope my lights hold out now!

Hello rob, not far, I guess a few hours at the most, depends on how long peoples lights last!

Go to the usual woods, they are nice and fast at the moment, miles, I don't know, more than 1, less than 100, basically it will be fun.

    Prob go to the Woodman.

Hello northern dan, indeed I am suprised too!

It will be as many miles as we can be bothered doing, not too many, for a night a ride its usually less then 10.

tombell1989, I have a spare light, possibly, if not then let us know if you want to ride during the day.

PS, which one of you is Luke, the ever changing?

OK, sorry scutler, going to have to be on tuesday.

Busier week than I thought, it's not always like this, so hopefully can be more accomodating in the future.

Ok, Tuesday the 8th, 7:30pm at New Mill car park (the one with the toilets in).

    Ta!

Rolf harris is a big girl eh?

In the woods the rain aint too bad. Its the slippy as ice mud that causes the problems.

Ok, more confusion has arisen and in fact I have something in my diary, which I hadn't checked.

    Doh.

Anyway, can do it on Monday, Tuesday or Friday next week.

Really want this to go ahead, so please contact me as to what days people can do.

    I am an idiot.

Ok, after much confusion on my side, it is an evening/night ride.

    Lights will be required.

Thinking of New Mill car park at 7:30 ish. Will defiantly pass the woodman pub at some point.

Rain, snow, sleet, hail, tsunamis, end of the world etc will not stop this ride! ie I ride in all weather.

I rode on Saturday for the first time and most of it drains really well, there were one or two bits that were wet, mainly the rollercoaster bermy bit, it was ok, but slippy in the compressions.

There was one bit that was really muddy, about 3/4 way round, muddy bermy bit in between woods.

Having ridden Glentress in a massive storm before and seeing as the main trail is a similar construction, I reckon you will be fine.

I have just gone from a full suss (giant trance) to a summer season and the summer season is way more fun. That's what it's really about and for £125 quid you cannot get anything better.

I run Revelations (100 – 130mm travel), run them at 130mm, which if you read the on one website is exactly what these are designed for.

Anyway, I rode it today at Lee Quarry and what an amazing ride, they have got the figures bang on with this one, the seat angle is bang on for a start, great position for climbing, but then the slack head angle gives a superb light front end.

It works together so well, you feel invincible, my last bikes (Marin hardtail, dmr, two on ones and a giant trance) have all been good, but this feels like something new.

I ran it with a 60mm stem and 710mm bars and it flies down tech stuff like a dream, you are not feeling like you are being pitched forward on steep stuff you have the confidence to just roll over everything.

I love on ones and I would say that this is the ultimate evolution of where they were heading. It is a great climber, descender, all rounder, its chuffin great and every one in the world should get one to show you how much over priced, over marketed bad products are out there and how little you actually need to spend.

Well done on one, you have a life long fan.

It looks like a used frame to be honest, some chain ring marks on the chain stay.

    An honest mistake I hope.

Chris Smith, apparently Britain's best known freerider, used one for a while whilst visiting Hucksville, also I think Bearclaw, or whatever he is called used one too, so they have been used in "heavy" situations.

I have a dew deluxe that I run with drops, I changed the discs for shimano mech discs (deore ones, which work perfectly with sti's). Super bike, been on big tours, pulling trailers, kids etc. Real work horse. Mine still has the original slickasaurus tyres on as well.

Good job they have put the stem up a bit, bit low on the flat bar version.

Hardest thing with these is fitting racks/guards due to the discs, I had to make a bit which moved the rack out a bit and attached the disc side mud guard stay to the disc mount. Bit odd, but works fine.

Camel back mayhem, awaiting 456 summer season, stem, 710mm wide bars (they will come by helicopter I think) and a headset.

I chuffin' love being a stay at home dad!

Yep totally agree, got a second hand 2006 trance 3 for a song on the bay, was in great nick, had 4 inch forks and felt ok, put revelations on (5inch ones) and it is now amazing, feels bottomless, but never bobs. Will buy another frame when this one dies.

Best bike I have ever had.

Yeah the red bar tape was the literal cherry on top, actually it was sat in a draw, as the other half had been used to repair my kids push chair!

It does just blend in, its so natural.

Come on people, show me yours, this can't be the worse there is!

I would recommend a vango tempest 200, had mine for a bit, used it for a 4 day backpack in the lakes, light enough, but withstood a very bad storm up near high raise (supposed to be one of wettest places in uk), goes up in one, ie the inner and outer stay attached.

I would be cautious of too cheap tents, it is your home and you want it to work, if you can afford it then go for terra novas or similar, but if on a bit of a budget then go for the tempest.

Yeah, I found that my event shoes are leaking.

Try tumble drying after reproofing, on low mind, does make a big difference.

Cut gate starts at Langset reservoir, just over a hill or two awat, you can cycle it easily from penistone. Just google cut gate and there will be loads about it.

Wharncliffe is nearby, but is super muddy.

I would have offered to meet up as I live in Holmfirth, which is near, but I am off to ride Helvellyn in the lakes that weekend.

Shakespeare walks into a pub, barman says “get out your bard!!”

Horse walks into a pub, barman says “why the long face?”

Bear walks into a pub, says “a pint of beer and………………………………………………………………………………… a packet of crisps” “why the big paws?” asks the barman.

    I know, I am special.

    Goon

This post makes me feel like weeping for every life lead in scientific pursuit, for the enlightenment of ordinary people.

I thought it was too simple for some people on here who are “free” thinkers, does it help that I am currently studying a degree in physics and doing quite well, (96% in last assignment)?

At the end of life, we will all be proved either right or wrong, if I am wrong then I have lead a life of fun, of belief that stops me fretting about stuff, of fellowship with many people (my church has about 700 members, it is lively, full of joy and a great place to be) and we will have all had an argument for nothing.

If you are wrong then the consequences are pretty bad.

I also agree that with the post from anagallis_arvensis, if belief in God results in half hearted rubbish then this drives me crazy, if you believe in something then you should follow it whole heartedly. I find most church services lacking any sort of commitment, that is why I go to Huddersfield Christian Fellowship (Google it), we have just got a new purpose built building with a 2000 people capacity and loads more. It is full of some insanely intellegent people, they can’t all be wrong can they?

Without a personal encounter of the supernatural realm, it is hard to believe.

I am convinced because I have experienced things which have convinced me.

I can’t argue about it really.

Blummin heck, this has got very serious.

To all you non-believers, jedi’s, intellectuals, agnostics and every thing else, God really, really loves you.

Sorry if this upsets you, or offends your beliefs, but He really loves you.

I work in a high school and the daily act of worship is a mumbled prayer read from a book, this aint gonna win anyone for God so don’t worry about your kids, they are safe.

I became a Christian out of a alchohol and bmx fueled lifestyle, He met me where I was, in a mess, forgave me and set me back on my feet, He has helped me on the way and walked with me through everything.

I need no proof, or reason, just faith.

I would rather trust the creation of the universe to something rather than nothing.

Oh well, let the onslaught continue.

Did I mention God loves you?

“Riding Wharncliffe when its filthy muddy just isnt that public spirited and Id prob go as far to suggest you should have gone somewhere else instead of increasing the erosion if it was as you describe”

Well, yes, but I had no idea whatsoever it would be so bad and I did only ride a short section, I was only out for a local 1 hr blast this morning!

I was under the impression that they had recieved funding for a sustainable trail, hence me thinking that mayve it would be less muddy than most woodsy rides are.
