It’s OK to objectify tarts, as long as you’re honest about it.

The Malverns are super steep which means even pumping out of the saddle id need a pretty low gear. Im guessing there is no way round this problem

You eventually just MTFU and get on with it. :-)
I run a 33:18 on a 29er, which can be tough on long steep climbs, but I wouldn’t want to go lower as I’d be spinning like a fool.

It’s worth it for the simplicity and ease of maintenance- no rattley derailleurs, no clutter, no cables….
Just a direct, smooth, silent drivetrain. Always.

    Less is definitely more.
My SS 29er is all I seem to ride now, and I live in a hilly area too.
    Do it, do it now!

I must have watched it 100 times with the boy, but I still enjoy it.

Rode home 11 miles first thing this morning, 2 miles off road.
    Wheels kept jamming with snow.

Apparently you aren’t allowed to beep your horn at people in wheelchairs- even when they’re selfishly blocking the road!

I’ve just been on the A470.
At the Aberystwyth end the police were advising people it was impassable- no way through, because of first a jack knifed lorry and then snow drifts.
There were gritters going up and down, so it should improve.
I didn’t have a choice however, but eventually had to give up.

I bought a bike from them last week, and it arrived a couple of days later.
I can’t fault how it was prepped, and it needed no fettling.

I’ve had one for a week.
I’ve commuted on it and taken it around nant yr arian.
I’m becoming a convert and love its silent simplicity.
I had to swap the ratio to 33:18 though as it was way too spinny, even uphill.

There was a bolt on the opposite side that the manual didn’t mention.

I decided the answer was a rigid, singlespeed 29er.
I just ordered one of these!

Hopefully now I won’t die of boredom, suffocate, disappear up my own arse, wear lycra or die in a horrible way. :-)

I had a 1.8, and certainly never had any trouble overtaking.

They aren’t great motorway cars, but if you mainly drive B roads they are awesome.
