How many campsites are there in Wing? Presumably not many as it’s a small place!

I was at a camp site there for a couple of nights. Nice area, and a really lovely pub in the village too! 🙂

Fabulous news WCA! Hope the physio goes well, sure you’ll be back to your best in no time! 😀

The way you’ve stayed so positive throughout (at least when you’ve posted on here) is a real inspiration. Proves we should never give up hope either!

I shan’t be watching/listening but I really hope Swansea can do it!

I know a couple of people who use them for running, and general wear and now swear by them.

    Have to admit I’m curious…!

Depends how many tools you want…

I have a Crank Brothers one which I really like (just a few allen keys + screw driver), but the topeak Alien range is good if you want a few more “functions” I think!

Maybe they are out riding their bikes…

I thought bikes were just a thing we used to get advice as to what work needs doing to our gardens?

I think there is a limit but in my experience the (slightly) more expensive ones tend to be more efficient, have a more reliable pressure gauge and a generally higher build quality!

I’d always want to steer clear of the real cheap ones, but I wouldn’t be spending £85 on one either!

I’ve *still* got a dodgy arm! Seeing the surgeon again next week…

Healing vibes in the direction of all!

    Looks that way!

I saw the film yesterday having read a lot of the books.

It was a pretty good film and I really enjoyed it, it felt very detached from the books though. Tom Cruise just doesn’t come close to the Reacher I have in my head, and much of the way the film played out also seemed very different to how I’d imagined it all! So I don’t think it will spoil my reading of future books anyway!

LBSs have little choice but to offer big discounts, particularly at this time of year, otherwise there’s just no competing with the big online retailers for the most part, unfortunately for most LBSs they’re not going to sell stuff at any where near as high a frequency as the online shops and to be taking such a hit on profit is not going to help them out long term!

Unfortunately it would seem that everything is just getting more expensive, but it’s further down the chain than the shops as they’re having to pay more too…I think we just need to accept that it’s not a cheap hobby!

I got all excited for a minute…I love new socks… but I’m afraid having now seen the advert in question it doesn’t do anything for me! 😉

    Rockhopper Pro?
Trek Cobia? (Or the slightly over budget x-calibur?)
    Giant Talon 29er (either 1 or 0)?

Go down to your local C2W accepting shop and see what they can offer. C2W regulations mean that getting a bike worth over £1k may be tricky, because it’s a lease, so if you have to pay a bit to the shop on top of voucher value you’d be owning a part of the bike which not all companies like so something to bear in mind/investigate further.

I’m still on too many painkillers to give blood apparently!

Have just registered with Anthony Nolan though. Don’t suppose the likelihood of being called upon is very high, but I feel like it’s a step in the right direction!

Anyone got experience with the Specialized Vita/Sirrus bikes?

Sirrus and Vita are designed as flat bar road bikes, I’m sure (as with most things) than stand up to more than is recommended by the manufacturer but I don’t think they were designed to be robust enough for bridleways etc.

They do the Ariel/Crosstrail which are more suited for that sort of thing, but then they do have a front suspension fork.

I very occasionally use it to set an alarm or google something, although usually do it manually!

Have a laugh and change the language! 😛

So far I have avoided it!

Got shouted at by GP receptionist yesterday though for not using the alcohol hand gel the second I walked through the door. They’ve confiscated the kid’s toys, and the magazines too!

I’m apparently signed up for one of the Evans Ride It thingy-majigs. Nice to have something “big” in my calendar to look forward to, but I’ve never ridden that far in one go (60 miles) nor do I know if/when I’ll be back on a bike properly so could be interesting (I hope in a good way!)

Hope things work out well and I can get back to XC racing (slowly!) in the summer!

I love the Lego games, but they do seem to do that occasionally.

More odd was in the early stages of the Harry Potter one a brick was missing, no matter what I did, where I went or how many times I tried to start the level again it wouldn’t appear. Started the whole thing again (as it was only the early stages) and there it was…no idea what could cause that!

I’m not a gamer and this probably doesn’t count but I got at least mildly annoyed when I was playing Wii Lego LOTR today…I had spent half an hour getting to almost the end of a level…and then it got stuck so I had to reset the console and start again! Although I did at least do it a bit faster the second time round!

I used instagram ‘cos I quite liked the filters and blurring tool thing.

Doubt they’d want my photos but I’ve deleted my account and will find something else again, although the stopping of twitter integration played a big part!

I like the Lego games…particularly good if you/the kids like the book/film – (Harry Potter, Lord of The Rings etc.)

Mario stuff is always popular too!

Cinnamon Girl suggested you might be able to advise as to the use of mindfulness with coping with long term health problems etc.?

I’m not a doctor so my advice should be taken with more of a pinch of salt than anyone with actual qualifications trying to advise via the internet!

c doesn’t sound like a good option to me. Maybe give NHS direct a call as they might be able to tell you who to see? Given it’s been a few days you may need to go via GP anyway as A&E aren’t keen on things that didn’t happen in the last 48 hours AFAIK.

Hope you get it sorted and you’re not in pain for long! 🙂

    I do. Nothing exciting though.

Help out with the audit department at the local hospital. They get someone to do the boring leg work so they can do more important things, and it looks good on my CV. I feel like I get a lot out of it (i.e. working with different teams of people is improving my confidence, learning about medical records etc.)

I’m usually very happy with amazon delivery times, they do seem to have slowed down a bit recently – assume it’s just down to Christmas business!

Remember, if they dispatch is quick enough…then it’s not always their fault if delivery is delayed…comes down to the couriers!

5- Stick £5 in jar for each turbo session you do and use it for a cycling or sporty holiday next year when weather here is rubbish

Might have to make it £1 (i’m poor!) but I like that!

    Plenty other exercises also.

Yes…I have been trying to think of a new hobby!

have a training plan and vary up the rides. Do lots of mixed up intervals to help pass the time. Can be a bit tricky if you don’t have an actual goal in mind.

This is the big issue, I was just doing OK when I thought I’d be back on the bike relatively soon so was “training” for that!

now staying motivated for physio exercises… there’s a real problem

I know that feeling! I have been bribing myself with food rewards to take my mind of the pain!

go find your nearest Parkrun and start going every saturday morning.

It would appear there is one close by, but alas…I work most weekends (and only weekends…)
