If she’s offered to pay tell her much it costs and just ask for a contribution.

That way you don’t have to pay for the whole thing, she’ll feel better for making amends. Everybody should be happy(ish) then 😛

I know that they’re not all true but it made me smile though so thanks! 😛

I raced on a cold earlier this year, didn’t do particularly well and felt pretty rubbish while I was doing it but I finished and got some points in the bag, didn’t seem to do me any harm.
    Although I’m 30 years younger! 😛

Wondered when this’d get posted! 😛
Part of me thinks its CERN trying to get some publicity. Hope it turns out to be genuine though, about time someone made a major physics discovery (although this one would be big enough to rewrite all the textbooks I think!)

Hope you get your glasses back!

Really interesting reading through this thread – thanks to everyone thats shared their experiences!

I don’t think I’d class myself has having clinical anxiety or whatever, just a worrier! More often than not now I spend the small hours of the morning tossing and turning, thinking about things which for the most part really aren’t that significant, turning various situations (some that have happened and some that haven’t) over in my head. Have noticed over the last couple of months that the amount of time I spend during the day feeling nauseous (and not being able to eat!) and just generally a bit low thanks to worrying/thinking about things is definitely increasing.

Hoping all will become well on its own though…

Get one of the older nanos second hand, which were a bit bigger, and not touch screen – I liked them much better!

Not entirely on the same scale but it makes my hand work and I think its quite cool 😛

Both my consultant and hand therapist work in an NHS hospital, as well as doing some time in a private hospital.
Surely there’d be no advantage paying to go private except maybe getting a bit more choice in appointment times?
They must all be trained to a similar level? Seems odd to me, except for routine ops where the nhs has a long waiting time.

Wouldn’t be so bad if it made its mind up – its the rain/sun/rain/sun all day that bothers me! 😛

Ikea must be the way forward?

Yep, as far as I’m aware the shop’ll get paid by spec for doing any warranty work.

Might just be me but I find road climbing more difficult than mtb, and making the effort on the road bike has made off road climbing easier 😛

Apart from a few select people I don’t like making calls. Quite often get in quite a state before I make a call (then very annoying when people don’t answer!). I don’t tend to answer the phone at home if I don’t know who it is.

Not so bad at work any more, although like to be out of ear shot of other people. I think the only way to get over it is to just do it!

people with carbon bikes have less cow related accidents i hear, a safety feature the manufacturers forget when marketing such modern wizardry!

Something I now feel I should mention to more people! 😛

    It depends whats missing.

If its to do with something that they will see you have/can do by offering a trial, perhaps its worth it, but otherwise I’d say probably not.

I’ve got a crank brothers multi tool. Seems well made, and I haven’t managed to snap one yet 😛 (had it for quite a while!)

On average, probably about £40-50 per month.
Not being driving much in the last couple of months thanks to the arm. I spend more in term time as there’s trips between home and uni every few weeks, but it balances it out when I drive less over the holidays.

I had one, but my account disappeared (possibly because it had been a while since I logged in…), so made a new account- maybe a picture will appear at some point on this one! 😛

I’ve got a 3G (my contract is nearly up at last!), was contemplating going for the 4 (or 5) when my contract runs out but tbh will probably keep the 3G, even if it does run a bit slow and doesn’t have so many bells and whistles because then it’ll be an awful lot cheaper.
I really like having an iPhone, without it I wouldn’t be such a facebook addict! But for what it is, very expensive I think!

I always maintain I’d keep training on the turbo if I hurt an arm, but I’m not sure in reality how long I could stand that!

I’d planned to, managed it a couple fo times but it seems even more dull now, planning to get back on the turbo when it gets nearer to knowing I can ride again (have done a couple of 1 handed miles on the singlespeed but that doesn’t count…)

    What did you do?

Was at the beginning of a race..a couple of people went down right in front of me and I crashed into them – impaled by someone’s brake lever. Time for panic and an ambulance ride! They thought I’d broken it to start with, but no…”just” nerve damage – so now my hand/wrist don’t work – it does warrant lots of real painkillers though 😛

Was 9 weeks ago when I crashed, 7 stitches and sent home form A&E so was expecting to be riding again pretty quickly…

I’ve just put all me bikes on Classifieds and ordered a fishing rod.

My parents think now is a good time to give up cycling forever! Not sure I need to have quite so many bikes sitting in the garage, but I know if I sell 1, that’ll be the one that I want to ride the most when I start riding again! 😛

don’t google fishing injuries for images..

Why, oh why would you put that idea in my head?
