As long as you don’t have a mole of moles living in your garden you’ll be OK, or at least that’d be what Avagadro might say.

Sorry. I have no idea what to do with actual moles, but I’ve waited a long time to be able to make a chemistry joke 😛

Almost wish I hadn’t asked now!

    Why do you ask OP?

Was at a classical concert thingy last night, it was in a church, and the only thing that was sung, and in English rather than Latin was a passage from the Bible. Just popped into my head while I was listening!

There appears to be a divide here!

    “believe” in science
Does not compute. Science is not a belief system. Clicky

It seems what you are talking about is being a good person. You don’t need to join a cult to do that.

I know science isn’t a belief system, hence the quotation marks – I needed a better word! It’s not just about being a good person, people often turn to their religion in times of trouble, even if they forget it the rest of the time!

We had a springer for 10 years, and then ended up rescuing a cocker puppy (now 3). Our springer isn’t all that keen on other dogs in general, but after a few days he decided he’d tolerate the new dog. Get the occasional “incident” but generally they’re OK with each other now!

As far as sleeping near he pup goes I’ve always been told that you shouldn’t, it might be tough for a few nights while they get used to it but hopefully he’ll settle down quickly. Lots of praise in the morning, especially if he’s been quiet.

Now I’ve tried to be helpful…we need pictures! 😛

My arm seems to be permanently “broken” (in the sense that a couple of nerves do silly things rather than being actually broken).
The time after surgery(s) was spent watching many DVD boxsets (I’ve now seen all of House, Grey’s Anatomy, Family Guy, Scrubs etc.!), the dog got lots of walks too (although it depends on how well behaved the dog is I suppose!). Books are good too…especially if you’ve got lots you’ve been meaning to read?

Get on the turbo if you have one and feel up to it – even if you don’t do high efforts it’ll be good to keep your legs going!

Healing vibes in your direction! 🙂

Looks like a separation to me too! (Always good when your opinion agrees with that of the medical folk…)

My non-medical opinion is that it’s probably difficult to predict this early how long it’ll take to heal. Sure you;ll get a better idea at the clinic next week. Make sure you ask them everything you want to know.

In the mean time – healing vibes!

Same bead size on 29er and 700c so you may well get away with your CX tyres on the 29er rims…just depends how narrow they are…

2nd ride back after surgery in September and still struggling with the injury so perhaps not my best idea!

Several hours before I could feel my feet again…but still glad I got out!

Something isn’t *quite* right in this thread either 😛

Maybe it rides better like that..could have at least dropped stem under all those spacers though!

6 at the end of the year? Sounds good…

    My contract runs out September…I like my 4S, don’t want a 5 cos they’re too big…suppose the 6 will be too though…

    How tall is she?

I’d almost suggest steering away from on one if she’s short in the arms! Although I do love my 14″ scandal!

Any excuse to post a picture…here’s my scandal in size midget!

Has been very under ridden, but it’s a lovely bike! You definitely want one…

    Ooo me, me!

I blame the nerve damage in my arm though! 😛

Practised with the other hand before final exams at uni (although had a scribe for the most part!)…so now equally bad with both hands!

Suppose the problem is most e-readers aren’t *that* expensive when new, otherwise there’d be a market among people who would like to try it but don’t want to shell out too much money just incase!

I suspect some people get stuck at a certain point in tech too, they’re happy with the model of whatever it is they have and perhaps don’t like the newer features (i.e removal of click wheels on iPods or the iPhone 5 being bigger), so maybe those people would also be interested…

I don’t own a kindle, or know any appropriately aged children, but congratulations nonetheless!

Just had a look at the preview on Amazon and it certainly looks impressive! Has she started writing the sequel yet?

I would have said if your training is specific enough that you need to do a z2 ride then you should go for the low gear and managed to cadence to stay in z2, and leave the intervals for rides when you’re supposed to have intervals?

Alternatively a couple of short, hard effort sections on hills probably won’t do any harm, but suppose there’s always the risk of “over training”

NB I know nothing and am just applying common sense, someone in the know would probably need to know more about your training plans to be able to advise accurately!

I had a similar disappointment a couple of weeks ago. I was more excited about getting the Haribo than the shorts I’d ordered…but there were none 🙁

One of my housemates for 2 years at uni was 10 years older than the rest of us, coming into it with a previous degree and experience of a different industry. He loved it I think, he’s now doing his master’s year and has been offered a PhD place, I think he’s hoping to stay in academia now – doing research + lecturing!
    (That was chemistry)

My great uncle has also done the mature student thing, although for entirely different reasons – he went back and studied archaeology after retiring from teaching geography for many years. He did it because he had the time and the money and it was something he was interested in!

I think as long as you go into it for a good reason, and will be able to afford it then it can’t be a bad thing!

Don’t have a big life is good story but I’m in an oddly chirpy mood this morning!

A good weekend at work – the sun meant we were busy for a change! 🙂
Had my last interview for med school last week, bit of a nervous wait now but I know I can’t do any more so don’t need to worry about it for the time being!
Legs felt good for the hour I spent on the turbo this morning!

Think it’s mainly the sunshine cheering me up, but I’m not complaining! 😀

I really enjoyed last night’s Top Gear. I don’t watch it to be educated…I don’t foresee me buying a new (or nearly new) car in the near future so I’m not fussed about any real road testing. I watch it for a laugh.

Where else could you watch a load of cars tearing up the turf at Twickenham and have a car test for the “Eel and Sodium salesmen” out there…

    😀

There was a time when I would have said mark it down to experience, but if you’ve got evidence of negligence (which it seems like you might have) I would certainly at least be looking into trying to get some compensation out of it…

I’m convinced something went wrong early on in my treatment when I “damaged” my arm, but as of yet have no way to prove it. All the consultants I’ve dealt with have been lovely, and I think I’d probably feel a little bit bad about it for a while…but if I could get some money for it I think I would!

All the verges on my street look OK. A lot of people have got rid of them and have entirely block paved their driveways.

Ours just get’s a mow when it needs it, but we have some more grass out of the front of our house that needs doing so it just gets done at the same time. My car gets parked very close up to the grass so don’t think the council mowers would manage. Not that I’ve ever seen a council mower.

A few of the neighbours seem to do each others for them…

As far as information governance goes there’s no way of identifying patient from that is there? Don’t want to start too much of a debate or anything, but just curious as I can see both sides here! If there’s any doubt don’t post it I suppose!
(I got 100% on IG e-learning thing before I started volunteering at local hospital but that was a while ago!)

That sounds awful for the poor chap though!

3 Different Wetherspoons to choose from in the town centre if they float your boat…

You don’t have to far to get to an at least half decent village pub, but then you’d have to factor in the extra travel cos I assume you don’t want to drive!

Didn’t have a landline while at uni, the only time I wished I did was when ringing the bank once ‘cos that cost a lot more on my mobile! (Although less more than paying for the landline overall!)

    Lee Child: One Shot

Bit odd ‘cos I’ve read a lot of his books, but I watched the film (Jack Reacher) which is based on this book before reading it. Whilst the general plot is the same so I know “who dunnit” a lot of the story seems to be progressing in different ways to the film!

I can’t offer any helpful advice but I fell down a man hole type thing at work once. It was very odd – I put my foot on it, but the cover was loose so flipped up (kind of how you describe I guess), but my other leg was still on terra firma. The hole was exactly the right depth for my my foot to hit the bottom without causing me any damage.

I pulled myself out and then me and the colleague who witnessed the event spent the rest of the day giggling about it (and he still hasn’t let me forget about it…)
