Here’s a few of taken over the last couple of days:

definitely not up to the same standard as many here, but I was happy 😛

    Today’s walk:

almost got this picture right but he was just too fast!

We have a Springer as well, but he’s 10 and only has 3 legs so he only tends to have a shorter walk in the evenings now.

My brother had football training Tuesday night and last night – took about 100 photos on the tuesday, epically failed because I was on auto and it was getting dark so it lengthened the shutter speed, last night was much more successful, it was a bit lighter and varied the shutter speed myself (as well as not relying on the manual focus), so got a few good shots – practise is definitely needed though!

Definitely need a lens with more zoom though, I’ve been (unsuccessfully) bidding on some on ebay, was hoping to not spend much more than £100 on an entry level second hand one, a quick look on the web found this, http://www.comet.co.uk/p/Camera-Lenses/buy-SIGMA-70-300MM-CANON-Camera-Lense/512338 similar to what I’ve been looking at but brand new, worth it?

This is one I had been bidding on – as an actua, canon lens, seems quite cheap at this price? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250815731551&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

My road bike is full Sora, thought about upgrading but decided against – not fussed about gaining a few % performance and it works!

My frames an Iceni, didn’t cost too much.

OK stupid question, I know the numbers are to do with focal lengths, but on a 55-250mm lens, for example, how do you use that to see how much “zoom” the lens actually has?

    This my mine… http://www.flickr.com/photos/becky_kirk43/
My blog has my photostream at the bottom so I only put photos up that are relevant….and they’re not all taken by me (well…the ones that don’t have me in are!)

All the recent ones are me playing with my new DSLR so be gentle – I’m still learning!

    I think we’ve scared off the OP…

I’m still here 😛 was taking pictures of the same thing, from the same place, varying the aperture to see if I noticed a difference in DoF…I don’t (but I suspect I’m either too close to it or doing something wrong!)

I’m pleasantly surprised by the helpfulness of all this (I’m not complaining but was expecting the usual sarcasm and a lot less sensible stuff!), but that does mean there is an awful lot to read through now!

I have the same tyres on the same rims, touch wood, no problems yet! (although I still run quite high pressures so that might help!)

    cheers for that picture Rorschach!

The 3 times I’ve been to Cannock, I’ve got to the top of that and then jumped of the bike mince style to get down it, doesn’t lok quite as bad from that angle as it does in my head on the approach – I will get down it next time!

It’ll probably hurt for a while as you get used to the position, and its really not fun in wind/rain/cold (or anything that is perfect summer weather!)

Its not that bad really, almost fun at times!

Both the WTB rocket saddles I have have had a creaking problem at some point or another. Make sure all bolts are done up tight and grease the rail contact points. Worked for me 🙂

A bit of a shower to dampen the dust would have been welcomed, seems to have been a bit torrential though.. (or perhaps once its all soaked in and run off it might be alright!)

I rode with spds, and I am now definitely convinced by their usefulness!

I rode SS throughout the winter, had planned to do lots of road riding for training but that didn’t really pan out, and with just my ss commuting (only a couple of miles, but going all out), and a few real rides, I’ve really noticed a difference at my first race of the season last night!

Perhaps hadn’t helped my overall fitness too much (probably didn’t do enough) but I felt like I had a lot more power in my legs!

I wouldn’t be without clipless on the road, still struggle off road. I find the one foot in, one foot out method quite good!

Taking spds and flats to my next race (tomorrow) so I can do a lap of the course and see what I think…if there’s no where I feel like I’m going to need to get my feet on the ground or if there’s a lot of climbing/ grassy bits spds might win…if not it’ll be flats!

I’ve got the F100 (without remote lockout) in my scandal, very nice forks – much prefer to the rebas I’ve got in my inbred!

I postal voted last week. Yes to AV. Somewhat limited choice on the local elections – Greens, UKIP or conservatives. I voted for the person that I know (was in the same class at school as his younger brother, and he’s only a few years older), hopefully he won’t have been spoilt by too much party politics!

I’d suggest its a good thing, he’ll probably get further ahead in the things that he’s good at, but will give more time to work on spellings and things.

He’ll probably be happier to, if he can make some good friends. As long as he knows he’s not being kept down for not being not bright enough, I’m sure it’ll be ok. Although he’s only 8, definitely worth getting his opinion on, he may not be able to make an informed decision, but he’ll feel like he’s involved in it and might be helpful to know.

Let us know what you decide!

Only been into it for a few years, had a spec myka expert as my first real mountain bike.

The built up an Inbred (now ss), and just finished my Scandal.

Have an itching for a full susser amongst other things, but have no real need for it and need to save up some money!

I don’t tan very much (particularly my legs) and burn very easily when outside on holiday in spain!

When in the UK, I’ll put on sun cream if I’ll be out in the sun for more than an hour, don’t actively sun bathe, but its nice to not have the usual chemistry student stuck in lab pastiness!

but they do let me live at home rent free in the holidays

I should hope so too. I never could get my head around parents charging their kids rent. I understand the whole ‘teaching them to stand on their own two feet’ thing, but charging your kids rent just seems like money-grabbing to me.

I can see why they’d want me to pay rent as I’m using their food/water/electricity etc. If they wanted rent, I’d stay in my house at uni, which I pay for over the holidays anyway!

I’m at uni, and I know my parents aren’t what I’d call well off. I don’t ask them for financial help but they do let me live at home rent free in the holidays, and then they sometimes help me out with a bit or shopping, some petrol or a lift back to uni.

I’m sure if I get myself into trouble they’d do their best to help me, but I wouldn’t expect them to, and wouldn’t ask unless I was really desperate!

I want a new car, so I’ve been saving up for one, a lot of my friends have had cars bought for them by their parents (one of my friends was very upset because they’d bought her a brand new vw fox a couple of years ago, her brother crashed it while she was up here at uni, and her parents aren’t going to shell out to buy her another brand new car!) In fact, I’d done such a good job saving that when me dad needed to get a new car a couple of years ago, I decided I could do without the interest that the back would have given me and gave my dad a loan! 😛

On the other hand, if the parents have the money, then why not subsidise the kids for longer, may come as a shock to the kids when the parents are no longer around to help though!

Had that for the last 2 years, hoping to sell it and get something with more bike space and a bit more efficiency at motorway cruising speeds once its passed its mot!

Take the job you’ll be happier with. If you can still live comfortably then you probably won’t miss the few luxuries that you’ll have to cut back on as you’ll be so much happier and less stressed.

That may even save you money in things that perhaps you buy now and wouldn’t need to when you’re a generally happier person.

Plus, if there is any opportunity for promotion or pay rises it might not even be long until you’re earning a sum that you’re happy with. And, is the salary with BC negotiable?

I’d describe myself as looking healthy (i.e. not too fat or thin!), but I am only 5′ 4″ 😛
