If its a straight choice between the 2 (i.e. cost to purchase and insure is pretty similar and there's nothing else you're looking at) I'd go for the zafira, I've heard more good things about that one, and know more people that have bought them.

I'm glad he got off, he had 6 months in prison waiting for the trial didn't he?
Hitting the kid was wrong, and he admits that, but it sounds like he'd been wound up something terrible!

I was told its a safe seat, and this somewhat proves it – 0.066. (Daventry)

I like riding, but I like taking pictures of my mates riding as well. Some rides I take my camera and I take loads of photos, others the camera doesn't even leave my bag!

40 on the autism one, joint highest on here so far; that's a tad worrying 🙁 (although not wholy unexpected)

    51 on the ADHD one

I'm told that carbon "talks" to people while riding…so it might just be natural carbon creak.

If not, be thorough and methodical, check everything that should be is tight and well greased etc. try and notice if there's a pattern in what makes it creak most, might give you more of an idea what it is.

there has been a couple of times when I've walked my dog around my local country park (where they have 1 bin in the entire place because of vandalism) that when my dog has done its business…I'll pick it up..bag it…and then leave it out of the way somewhere to pick up on my way back to save carrying it all the way round my walk.
People shouldnt just leave it though

GT85 / TF2 tend to do the job. finishline sell some polish stuff which looks alright if you want something "proper"

I think there is a difference between cyclists wearing a balaclava and things like the burka. for example you would most likely take it off when not riding, and would have no objection to removing it for a policeman or whatever.

I think banning it is a good idea. Especially when things have got to the point that there was the case of the british airways worker not being allowed to wear a cross on a necklace. I've no objection to religious head scarves, but imo burkas and alike are a step to far in the western world.

These are very good, I did the introductory course on the women's only and then did the intermediate with the chaps around as well. Both days were really good 🙂

    I'm 5' 4" and I'm getting a 50cm road bike (although I can ride a 52cm comfortably if its the right one).
Definitely a case of try a few and see what you like 🙂

spec myka or something in the trek skye range (thats new this year and I can't remember which one costs what), or giant talon (XS) (can't remember how much they cost either but might be worth a look)

I live in a village (not quite in the middle of no where but not close to many places that I need to get to), but once I get my road bike sorted I shall be using the bike a lot more and my car a lot less to get around. Also, whilst at uni I'm bike only – I get into lectures in the morning, and bike into the city as well.

Hoping to save some money on fuel (still gonna ave to pay insurance etc as there's no way I can get rid of the car altogether).

Also interested to see how people manage soley with a bike?

I've got a cheap one, great fun!

I got mine for £20 of ebay a couple of years ago, but you can get good ones from here http://www.firetoys.co.uk/juggling/Unicycle.html and http://www.oddballs.co.uk/unicycles-unicycles-by-price-c-1724_2112.html

Just one bike I'll take a hardtail…currently my inbred!
(i've got another hardtail and I'm getting a road bike soon but the inbred is the one I'd keep!)

yeah speak to the shop, if its under a lifetime warranty they'll have to replace it if they deem it dangerous and will most likely have to give you a newer frame!

+1 for spec nimbus. I'm using some schwalbe city jets, there 1.95 so not the thinnest tyres you gonna get but they are pretty slick, and have options for puncture protection

As long as your LBS is a good one (and not slow at dealing with things)it should be less than 2 weeks

I've got last years myka expert…great bike and has plenty of room for upgrading (e.g brakes and various bits of the drivetrain when they wear out) but works well as it comes.

Avoiding that gear it is, I did think it might be slightly pushing it but was worth a shot!

And yeah – the parktool site is great for stuff like that!

The Hex and the Xen are both good, go for which ever one you find most comfortabe. The phase is also good if you don't want to spend quite as much!

im 5' 4" and I've got the 17, the stand over height is very close to be too big, but I wouldn't want to be on the next size down!

The Skyla is good but I use the Giro Phase, not ladies specific, but easily adjustable and fits me well 🙂

I've just watched it, great race! Was so hard not finding out who won thanks to BBC news!

I've got a Saris one, getting my ladies specific hardtail on is a squeeze so i imagine there might be issues with a full susser but they seem very popular racks. A false crossbar might help, or find someone with one and test it / ask at your local lbs..they should be able to help 🙂

Yeah, I've been meaning to go to Matlock!
I've been told there is a bit of an XC country route to Hemlock from the Toby Carvery roundabout vie Bramcote park – does anyone know anything about this? (i.e how to find it)

I'm 18…hate driving in the dark, avoid it where at all possible (was much better until an incident involving a small ditch and a bush on a dark and cold night).
One night…had to drive 50 miles in the snow, on country roads in the dark. Took several hours. I nearly stopped halfway and got someone to come and pick me up.
So no driving with eyes closed for me!

I'm afraid I'm definitely off the list. The wrist still isn't up for it, just about managing some gentle road rides, and going to have a little play on Sunday if I can but I think I'll struggle, even with a pootle, in the the peaks

    becky_kirk43

probably a little road ride tomorrow, going for a play a Hemlock on Sunday though, just getting the wrist back into riding…so no great ride in the peaks for me 🙁

So he's suggesting if I just take a "road" frame and put mtb parts on..it becomes a mountain bike…I'm pretty sure there's a reason people don't that…

Don't know where about's you are in Notts but there's Bestwood (only been there once cus I can't be doing with a half an hour hilly ride each way!)

I'm at the uni, would be nice to find somewhere within easy riding distance 🙂

Things to suit a wide range of abilities, any big stuff should have an easier option so that everyone can stay on their bike (you have to start somewhere).
Flowing downhill with a few technical bits is always good, means you can concentrate on the technique, and you can get your pedals in the right place and everything (again good for beginners but more advanced riders can still do it…only faster!).
So in summary a variety of stuff to keep everyone occupied!

Grips aren't DMR, can't remember who now…they're cheap BMX grips, I like them cus they're long which means I can push everything in on my bars a bit, and what could be better than purple grips?

Its not seen a lot of off road action (not had it long and I'm at uni so mainly just been commuting on it), but I've found it to be very responsive (and rides faster than my other bike!)

Minimum age for a lot of these things is 9 or 12 months because young babies still have a soft spot on their skull so you don't want to be bumping them about in a seat attached to the back, or in many trailers.

If you can get a car seat, or a trailer specific designed seat in your trailer then that should be fine though

No where off road within range for a early ride, but I leave earlier than I need to to get in in the morning so I can have a bit of a long road, and have a bit of a play with the few fun bits there are on the way 😛
    Its def worth it!
