I've got a set of Racing Ralphs, 40psi, not had a pinch flat (or even a puncture yet touch wood!)best get the repair kit out now ive said that!

I'm not the most graceful of riders but only weigh 50kg so that might be helping me 😛

2 months is a long time IMO, I'd be dubious about giving a refund. You've got no idea what may have happened to them in the 2 months he's had them. He might not be happy when you tell him but I don't think you should have to give a refund if he couldn't be bothered to check the wheel when it arrived!

I use torq, don't konw what about it it is that I like, but I certainly seem faster and less fatigued so I keep using it.

They do single shots as well so you can test the different flavours (and then use the pot it comes in to get the right amount of powder next time 😛 )

I won some, not sure its any better than anything else I've used. Don't think I'd go out of my way to buy it.

Topeak Alien gets my vote. Mind you with my lack of mechanical competence I just have a basic CB one with a couple of allen keys and a screwdriver which gets me along nicely most of the timel

google says they'll be on some 2011 scott bikes in NZ and Aus, so I'm assuming they're either newish or perhaps only available overseas?
Certainly not one I've come across before…

I live about a mile from work but do occasionally drive…some mornings I just can't motivate myself to pedal 😛 (although most of the time I look forward it!)

Can you not arrange your viewing at little bit earlier and then just arrive at work "on time". If you don't like the job I would recommend not turning up too early from now onwards, see what they think of that (its not like that's doing anything wrong!)

Either was you can cycle to work and save money on fuel.

If fixing it is going to mean you can sell it for more than the fixing is going to cost I'd get it repaired (and try a different garage to see what they quote you!) and then sell it on. There are many people (e.g. students, new drivers etc) that would like to drive a cheap and old car.

But if it won't be economical to fix, or you just can't be bothered with the hassle scrap the car or sell it as a spares/ repair on ebay / autotrader and then you're sorted 🙂

£25 where I am, although if you're having a service as well that'd probably reduce your labour cost.

Its also £25 at evans or £12.50 if you buy the fork from them
(mind you they also charge £25 to fit mudguards!)

£10 is quoted as the minimum charge at George halls.

    Hope that's helpful 🙂

Get the 4, i had the same choice with the 3G and the 3GS, went for the 3 and now somewhat regret it because although it works well enough I'm sure by the end of my 2 year contract there'll be an iphone 4S or 5 or whatever they're going to call the next one, and then I'll be well behind the times!

I also use the 661 race guard, not had any problems with it yet.

The way I see it unless everyone stops eating meat (which is not going to happen) its still going to be farmed and then get killed so we ought to eat it really otherwise the poor things are going to waste.

I'll buy free range eggs etc, but it doesnt bother me how its killed*, meat is meat. Having said that, I don't eat a lot of meat and I don't like meat that still looks like the animal (i.e. I will buy chicken breasts rather than a whole chicken!)

*as far as buying in supermarkets / butchers, I'm not endorsing horrible and/or torturous methods of killing

I used shimano for a while but tried some crank bros just to see what the difference was, now have those on both my bikes. Not used them for a long time so can't comment on their longevity but they just feel nicer than shimano ones imo

Sorry, bit of a hi jack –
tall- martin I take it you teach in Nottingham then? which school do you work at? (I was hoping to go into some science classes next (school)year to gain some experience / see a bit more of what its like but having difficultly getting it organised)
if you could possibly point me in the direction of someone helpful it would be greatly appreciated (my e-mail address is in my profile if you're able to / would like to help me out 🙂 )

I'm only 19 but in my last year of A-levels (last year) I helped out a couple of times a week with some year 9 kids in science lessons, not enough to put me off for life but considering I'd been put with the "good" class, and its not what I'd call a bad school, not sure I'd want to be teaching the "bad" class.

Look at lecturing at uni IMHO, strikes me as a better job (you just need better qualifications I assume)

If its just a few bits you'd be alright, but changing everything might be a bit of a pita.

Mind you if you're just gonna change it twice a year i.e. on and off winter bike, it shouldn't be that bad.

now I've seen your fence and your grass it shouldn't be too difficult to find your house and "borrow" it 😛

If I had an iPad I'd get the app, but then I realised it is somewhat cheaper to keep buying the magazine than to get the iPad 😛

I've wimped out of the werewolf drop all 3 times I've been. Mind you, rode everything bar that yesterday (red not black 😉 ) there were a few rocky bits that caught me out before…but several attempts later I did it! 😀
combined with a trip to go-ape yesterday I'm aching this morning, but can't wait to get back (pity its a 2 hour drive!)

forge – I'm slow and it took me 2 and a half hours with a few little stops on the way, so it should take you a fair bit less than that 😛

I'd be vary wary about putting a child that young in a trailer at all, let alone worrying about the helmet.

At the shop we can't hire out trailers (or seats for that matter) to be used by children under 12 months due to their skulls not being fully developed and the shaky nature of being on the back of a bike.

http://www.getmountainbiking.co.uk/ are good. Most of their courses are down south compared to where you are, but their advanced course is in Yorkshire if that's the sort of thing you're looking for 🙂

might be worth putting a bid or 2 on the 2nd…seeing if there's any interest in it, give you an idea as to how much it might go for…

Not sure you can back out of a sale just because you won something you'd rather have!

Out of curiosity, what are you buying? 😛

I've got 2 sets of smartys, going well so far, no problems at all. If and when they wear out I'll be getting some better cb ones. Quite fancy some of their other stuff as well…

Don't often go out on the road bike on my own unless I'm actually riding somehwere for a purpose. if its a lonesome leisure ride its on the mountain bike!

I'd say singletrack = track not suitable for people to ride next to each other. Can be in woods, although i'd say worn away section in grass counts as long as its only wide enough for one(although its not quite the same)!
