Surface Pertex Jacket if you can find in your size from £15 – £25 a little baggy but for the price I’m not complaining and has kept me dry/warm in some heavy showers.

Anyone know if it’s ok to run a 180 rotor on the front? Can’t seem to find anything that says what the max size is.

Picked up the last 20.5 frame that Genesis had in stock yesterday, waiting for some wheels to arrive hopefully today so I can start building it up tomorrow.

I would go South of Bristol have lived both sides and getting into Bristol from the North is a nightmare. Try around Yatton, Wrington, Congresbury, Mendips etc accessible easily and countryside all around, but Bristol only a easy quiet 10 mile commute depending on the route you take.

I haven’t had that issue yet but only ridden it on one ride so far, running 2.2 mountain king
    Have also heli-taped the frame.

Have you let all the air out ogre the shox and seen if the tyre hits the frame?

Anywhere along A370 and out toward Langford would still allow OH to ride to Bristol and ride to Mendip Trails.

At least 3 others I know from from my village ride in daily (I don’t btw)into Bristol.

Have you considered looking at being just South of Bristol. I was brought up on the North side of Bristol but traveling into work was a nightmare, traffic awful getting into Bristol.
Now live in Congresbury can ride into Bristol or get the train from Yatton, trails in riding distance, sea close by.
Bath not to bad either over the top of Mendip or if bad can go via motorway or through Bristol, sounds like the time OH travels to work won’t be rush hour.

I know this will have been asked before but can you run a 10 speed rear mech with 9 speed cassette / shifters or do you need to change everything?

Thanks for all the responses guys. My only worry is the Fly will be to harsh, all my hardtails have been steel. I’ll be honest the FF29 doesn’t do it for me even thou reviews are good. Part of it has to liking the looks, that is why the Fly caught my eye, it does look nice bike.

Mainly natural trails around Mendips, Exmoor occasionally Leigh Woods Ashton Court. I’ve a Stereo for big days out in Wales etc. Just want something that allows me to get out for quick rides plus makes the ride to trails easier, around 5 road miles when I have more time.

Is that based on real life experience?

Reba almost double the price, this is for my 10 yr old son. If I was in a position to spend that much I would give him my Revelations and put a new fork on mine.

I took a Tallboy Alu out last week 120mm forks, enjoyed the ride but it didn’t feel better than the Whyte T 129 I tested a few months ago, the only other 29er I’ve ridden.
It was great on the downs a little sluggish on the ups (probably something to do with the engine, could also need a XL I had a L demo) but when you put the power down on smooth single track or rocky tracks it took off, the VPP setup is excellent when it comes to pedal input. Amazing grip considering the conditions and had crossmarks fitted.
I will be taking a T 129 out on the same route this weekend so will get a better comparison between them both.

I’ve found it for 130 with the spare battery, which looks pretty good. It will be used alongside a Diablo. Have also been looking at the Lumenator.

Thanks RM beam shots look good, how long does it take to charge can it be charged via the mains rather than a usb port?

Try to encourage my 8 yr old to do whatever he feels comfortable with, sometimes that means letting him do drops etc that I’m not comfortable doing.
My 5yr just starting to get the hang of riding down slopes under control, 2 weeks ago he fell of his bike when he stopped and broke his femer and been in hospital in traction since, sometimes they don’t have to be trying anything hard to hurt themselves.
All you can do is encourage, push them to do stuff they don’t want to do and you will end up putting them off.

Had 4 total when growing up. Great dogs, colour does seem to have different personalities. the best was our Golden cocker really switched on dog, had 2 black and white ones both completely nuts.
Avoid solid colours can have a tendancey to be aggressive, have seen this first hand.

Ours were left when out to work (4- 5 hrs) never had any problems with damage, they where always happy as long as they got a good walk / run in each day.

Training is a must from a young age.
