    141 QR
Probably the same generic QR though as Trek

    Yes of course
I’ll have to check my parts box as the spark frame used to come with x12, x10 and qr hangers. Pretty sure they shipped a longer rws QR with that frame set.

    Any reason a 142mm qr won’t work?

Puppies (wild dogs) lolloping along with the pack or on a science experiment tread mill is a very different scenario to a mountain bike ride. Inevitable speed, mixed surfaces, jumping over and the worst of all, running down gradients.
Consider also that many dogs get stressed out by being “left behind” and what is suggested some dogs see as having to chase.
4 mo is too young, without expert knowledge I’d happily advocate for 12mo minimum and a slow introduction to bike etiquette follow/side/ahead/ etc. What about reliable recall?
My Lab/Shep/Rotty/Bear/Racoon cross was 18mo before first decent rides. Started short trail loops after 12mo, figured out bikes/wheels are worth avoiding the first time she saw a chipmunk on the other side of me and decided that running under my front wheel would be as good plan. A heavy tyre buzz and me over the bars and on the floor was enough learning to leave the critters alone.
I loved having a riding buddy that was available anytime I wanted to go. Would follow me without hesitation was an expert with line choice. Some questionable french lines as she got older though
She ended her riding career at 8 I think. She’s 15 now but still looks hopeful when I grab my shoes and helmet.

My xrc 1200’s took an absolute battering on my squamish/Whistler trail bike before the days of inserts but still 20 psi range. They’re on the kids xc bike now and no issues aside from front bearing replacement.

I destroyed a synchros rim on ride 2… Turns out my lezyne pump was lying and 20psi was more like 14. Repaired those and still going strong. Would happily get their Revelstoke 1.0

Invisframe? They use xpel matt and might have a suitable generic kit if you’re doing something unusual.
Yes I know it’ll be more than a roll or sheet but xpel is much better than ridewraps matt film in my experience..
Pretty sure I’ve seen xpel by the sq foot in the past, but wouldve been a car wrap supplier.

I use a cheap E5 ( iirc) socket on a 1/4 extension in my low speed drill. Spin the nipples to the last thread then go round with the squorx t handle adding equal turns.
There aren’t many turns past the last thread anyway that I’d particularly need a depth stop beyond using the thread as a visual reference.
What I’m saying is, given the choice, I’d take the t-handle tool over the depth tool.

    That does look great!
Similar caliper issue with my spark, wouldn’t fit an FSA caliper as its piston bump out fouled on the seat stay.
Confused by the cable issue though. What’s stopping you assembling things with all the loose cable ends coming out the headset then chopping them once assembled?
Brakes hoses get trimmed from the lever end and no reason you can’t do shifter and dropper from the lever end also. Am I missing something?

The F100, also available as F80 and F120 can be differentiated from regular floats as the lowers have no webbing in the casting at the rear of the arch.
Iirc The F-series also had a slightly thinner guage stanchion than the floats too.
I’ve had NOS forks on kids builds, F100, dtswiss xrc’s and magura durin sl.
I think the durin sl is lighter than the fox but much stiffer than the dt swiss.
The dtswiss were super looking forks but as a full sized human, I’d pass.
Unless you’re trying to stay era correct, what about a 27.5 fox 32sc?

Anyone doing well designed low volume high end carbon with close control over the manufacturing process should be making really decent stuff.
    Unno, WAO, GG etc
Once you’re more hands off and pushing volume, I suspect you’ll get more QC issues.
I’ve no doubt that bigger brands have full time Eu/us employed, asia based staff monitoring QC in their factories..

Shimano don’t feed from the funnel, they collect pushed fluid from the caliper in the funnel.
    Of course youtube variations exist
I can certainly see a mini bleed to clear the master cylinder of air then cracking the caliper for a gravity ‘fluid change’ being an option for top down maintenance.
I’m 100% sure a gravity bleed of a system that has had a replacement caliper, hose or lever that empties a decent amount of fluid is pretty much useless.

Out of interest, what brakes use lever down?
    Shimano are caliper up
FSA are push pull (+vaccuum pull at lever)
    Magura are push pull
    Sram are push pull

I’m sure marshys is great for already decent systems and just as a fluid swap. Hasnt worked for me for anything else, mostly as Jameson, air can still travel up faster than the fluid comes down

Posh petrol is for higher compression engines. Typically turbos but some NA call for higher octane too.
You can run lower octane fuel and get less mpg, it won’t break anything.
Running higher octane in an engine designed for low octane fuel is wasting money.
Looks like the 2012 came in a 1.6 and a 1.6 EcoBoost. Like most early gen direct injection engines, don’t the EcoBoosts suffer from valve sludge? Could be time for a clean-out.

US national parks are similar, app/pay by web payment (in the few incidences we’ve had anyway)

As a tourist, with Canadian cell providers charging $12/day for US roaming we take the opportunity to force disconnect from phones and stay in airplane mode but still have them as cameras/navigation/googlepay.

Therefore, parking is either $12 more or park outside for free with the others doing the same.

I’ve found it tricky to bleed 4 pots.

Gotta rotate that caliper upside down, downside up and all the places between to dislodge any air out of the 2 Pistons opposite the hose and bleed side.

Gentle clear coat safe scratch remover Meguires scratch-x, ultimate compound or autoglym paint restorer on that whole trim piece. Final coat of something decent over top too.
I wouldn’t touch any modern paints with t-cut especially when diminishing gentle cut polishes are available.

    contaminate

Any body shop will be stripping any surface applied treatment off before they paint anything so that’s no concern.

I want to replace the seats in my north american 15 passenger van. the current seats from 2004, even on currently available models don’t have head rests at all!
There are loads of tear out sprinter and transit seats that would suit this purpose.. however whilst I’m confident i could install these to be safer than the factory solution, that I’d almost certainly not be insured in the event of a Collison/injury is preventing me spending the time/money to do so.
Step 1 would be to ask your insurer if its even covered.

Ok, heres what I see in the pictures: (real life may be different and light may be playing tricks)

3+ stress cracks to the rear of the lower head tube.
2 major delamination’s/multi layer cracks to the 5 and 8 oclock positions on the head tube that show with the reinserted sleeve an opening up of both cracks and space between the sleeve and frame.
The stress cracks in the top image indicative of the resulting deformation of the frame at this point with that rearmost part of the headtube having been deformed towards the rear of the bike.
If the sleeve is now out of round, this would tend to suggest that the crash impact essentially ovalized the insert, stressing the carbon and causing the frame failure.

I would guess that carbon repair would require significant material removal and a multi layer circumferential wrap around the head tube running into the downtube.

I would say that this is not cost effective to repair for the next time ’08 blows up the front end as I’d think you’d be looking at complete explosive flames failure with just a re-epoxied insert.

I am not a carbon repair expert.
I have repaired several carbon bikes that both I and my kids still ride.
I would not let my kid ride this one with a sleeve only repair.

other opinions are available and mine is only worth what you’ve paid for it ;)

Looks like multiple stress/cracks around the head tube which is likely why the sleeve was debonded and no longer interference fit.
Is this the frame ’08 got ejected out the front on?
    I’d say it’s borked.

Could be a dealer attempt at a money grab that has caused all this.
Language could have been extended to “may have to charge for the dissassembley if the warranty claim is denied once giant have inspected the frame”
Giant may have to sacrifice that specific dealer – say, “for misleading giant UK” – to save some face.
I don’t see another way out of the mess that’s been made for the brand really.. assuming the market influencing power of STW forum is what some seem to believe it to be.

If there’s a net benefit and those kids are now motivated to recreate then I don’t see the problem.
Trouble is it’s potentially a one way street. Plenty of kids out our way who won’t pedal a regular bike after riding an ebike, but similarly, plenty of kids who won’t ride at all unless using whistlers chairlifts.

    Thanks all.
I’m 4500 miles removed so don’t have the ability to self manage.

Prospective tenants are current clients of our agents so they come with references.

The most frustrating thing is the agents asking for our agreement on the reduced rent before prospective tenants will discuss dates.. bonkers, the agent has all the info they need.
They would also have their current t&c as far ending their current lease early so ive no idea why they haven’t just provided a complete picture.

I believe their current landlord is looking to renovate and sell but appreciate the point.

Yep, we were surprised that we’ve only had the one viewing in a couple of months, hence the real consideration on the offer we do have.

Could be the agent was asking too much but the place was rented to the same single tenant 2015-2020 for 40pcm less that this offer.
I believe this was framed via the agent as an “all they can afford” offer and shown to them based on the location convenience vs moving more than 25m.

I might have to look at the comparables.. which I’d hoped was the agents job ;)

External fillet of sealer is going to look very different

Yep, polyurethane like sikaflex picks up dirt to so it’ll ultimately look sh*t. It can be tooled clean with methyl hydrate etc that shouldn’t damage clearcoat.
I’d be trying to restore the seal around those fixings before bodging it though.

As above, rubber boot seals get tired and can leak. Friction fit seals can be removed and have their crimps tightened then refit. Or sealed up and this is where I’d draw the line at the application of goo, hidden away not between 2 exterior panels.

Have you had any body shop work done on the rear end?

A piece/pieces of Formica/laminate countertop (just the wear later)
    Hundreds of styles.
Did a full wall of orange in a buddy’s place, floor to ceiling as a bike wall. Looked killer and bombproof.
You could.even get some!retro patterns to complement that carpet ;)
Or a strip of galvanized sheet metal glied or screwed.

You want to go off erd measurements really

I also wouldn’t want to build stans rims without nipple washers so add that additional depth.

If the measurements work out, only you can decide if you want to reuse spokes.
Would depend on the wheels history for me.

I’d probably skip the hassle and reach for the spraymax 2k primer, whatever montana gold colours you fancy and some spraymax 2k clear.
You’re going to need extraction/respiration anyway but no mixing or equipment cleanup from a can

You might find some 24″ bmx tires with some knobs in 520 (smaller than SB8 though)
But I don’t think you’ll find actual mtb style tyres.
You’re stuck with 520 though, it’s driven by the rim.

ouch, irrelevant but law here in BC is max increase of 2% every 12months
circumnavigable by evicting tenants for sale/renovations/family members to move in then later relisting for much more.
