Hi old fella, aparently I was 54 on Wedensday!!. Age is just a number, I haven’t a clue how old I am most of the time. Last yaer I gave up being a mechanic and went self employed as a window cleaner/handyman.

The soapy water has no effect at all on the glue, apart from allowing you to cock up and start again.

The DOT 4 has a lower boiling point than DOT 5.1. Unless your off to the alps, DOT 4.1 will suffice. Its in my car and most other family saloons.

Just fitted solid oak flooring today to someone’s bedroom. Looks fantastic, hard as ****, needed a new blade in the saw. Got the underfloor heating in my conservatory between concrete and laminate, as posted above it really only takes the cold of the floor as opposed to heating the room up.

Put the stickers in soapy water. Fit whilst still wet and gently position, get rid of air bubbles. Then let dry. POP.

Go into loft and tie up the ball cock to the small central heating tank. Open drain valve and as the water drains out start to open the highest rad bleed valve. work your way down opening all the bleed valves until all the water is out of the system. Then close all valves, put a bottle of rad/system flush into water tank. Undo tie on ball cock, bleed system, run for a couple of days. Drain system as above. Then refill only this time put a bottle of system conditioner/ protector into tank. If the rads are still playing up then close the valves on the rad and remove. Flush each one out with hose pipe. Caution black water from rad takes some cleaning up.

As Above the Spare wheel is not part of the test (ex MOT inspector) As for the quick fit option, they will condemn everything and try to scare the crap out of you. You might need an ambulance when you get the bill. :(

You are learning how to control the vehicle and brush up on your highway code, as you can already drive and should have some road sence!!!!

Seriously the only way to stop it is to lift the carpet and silicone the underneath of the skirting boards. They do that in all the new builds now. Don’t use to much though as the carpet will not go over the gripper rods.

I did it last year over the MM weekend. Worst decision I have ever made.
    Weather was atrocious, gales,cold etc.
Second day took about 10 hours, me thumbs were that cold I had to use my palms to change gear. A bit of hypothermia me thinks.
    NEVER AGAIN.

I have this problem big style, so went to see the doc. Diagnosed with Reynards disease. The blood vessels in the toes and fingers go into spasm and stop the flow of blood. Some tabs made a big difference but not a total cure. Sealskins dont work to well. Merino wool socks are great with slightly larger boots. Plastic bags to stop the cold striking through are bloody marvellous, but a bit sweaty. Goretex ski gloves seem to give some protection to the mits.
