I made an offer on a buy it now item. It was at £94 and I was happy to pay that, but the make an offer was there so I thought why not. £90 offered and all payment details done. Counter offer came back at £93.50! Which although agreed to made me wonder wtf was this an option in the first place.

5 numbers twice for me years ago. £1711 and £1722 which was nice but could have been so much better!

My evri driver Colin is also great. How he manages to get my parcels over the locked gate and near my side door is mystifying 🤔

I’ve just replaced my 12 year old wb 30cdi with a wb 4000 model.

I’ve had to replace a couple of plastic water manifolds earlier on this year, but they only cost about £25 from eBay and easy enough to do.

But the wife got it in her head that it would go tits up this winter and I went with Boxt as a straight swop was 2.1k with about a 7 year guarantee.

We hired a VW id buzz from the Swiss side of Geneva airport and only just got 3 bikes in. Two in hard cases and one in a massively cut down cardboard box.

It cost about £750 which is almost what some of the transfer companies wanted to get to Samoens and back.

Enquires on here said every man and his dog will take you for a bag of chips but it was not the case for us, so the buzz worked out ok split between three.

The underlay fits on the inner edge of the gripper bar so that you get a smooth line over the gripper. The carpet is fitted inline with the skirting and not under it. So fit your skirting and fill in the gap underneath with whatever looks ok depending on whatever the gap looks like.

As far as I’m aware all bike cassettes have the same chain spacing. The only difference is the width to allow the chain to fit the different spacing between the cogs.

I run an ebike and a deore cassette with an X01 chain.

I highly recommend the X01 chain for anything as it doesn’t rust and needs no wax or looking after. Just a squirt of gt85 every ride.

Being a Bosch owner myself, but I have ridden a Shimano powered bike for a few hundred miles. The Bosch Gen 4 non smart has loads of grunt and will power you over all manor of obstacles compared to the Shimano. The Shimano loves to be in high cadence and is suited to the fitter riders. It also seems to get better milage than the Bosch.

Problem wise, with our group it’s only the Bosch owners that have needed new motors! My old Gen 2 is on its 6th motor, but my Gen 4 has just clocked up 4k miles without any trouble but others have had them go at 2k.

Bosch have always replaced them with no issues.

Batteries will outlast your bike so don’t worry about them. At least the Bosch ones do. I’m still using my old 2016 batteries in my gen 4 bike as they fit into the frame.

Problem is with anything you get good and bad so it’s always a gamble.

With my mum the bank made her account joint with me. So everything just got paid as normal as far as the bills were concerned.

Mudhugger on my bikes. Make sure that you wrap an old inner tube around the mounting points on the rear triangle as on mine any slight movement wears the frame away even when the cable ties are very tight.

Having worked for a window fitter I will try give you a plan of action. Assuming that you are going to DIY the job. Get a stand off adapter for the top of the ladder. Push the second row of tiles up (usually odd ones nailed) use a hammer shaft to do this. Lift the first row off and place higher up out of the way. This gives you access to the roof timbers. It’s looking like yours are just overclad so you need to start again I’m afraid. Rip it all off including soffits. Sort out timbers if needed. Lay soffits on top of the bricks and nail the outer edge inline with the outer edge of the timbers. Fit the new thicker facias. Fit new felt guard up to the first tile lat and under any felt that’s not rotted away. This channels the rain water into the gutter and is important. Fit the gutter back. Go for a couple of pints 👍

    Easy job 😀

<li style=”text-align: left;”>Also in need of a boiler so I enquired to Octopus about the grant and prices. I needed a new EPC before anything could be done. After speaking to the EPC guy he said absolutely no chance of it working on my 70s detached house. Basically it’s not designed to work properly without a load of extra insulation and you are going from a cheap fuel (gas) to the most expensive (electric). He also said that he was going to court for a few people where the system was unable to work properly and the supplier has basically lied to them about it’s efficiency in their house. So I’m staying with a gas combi until they work better and I don’t need to extend the house to house all the equipment.

My pedal sometimes stays down on my seat Leon. It’s a common fault on vw cars that the master cylinder needs changing. A quick foot under pedal to bring it back up and it’s fine for a couple of months.

About £45 i believe for the master cylinder.

I watched it last week at home ☺️ we were riding around the railway stations when they were filming it but didn’t see a great lot. It was just as we were coming out of lockdown if I remember rightly. It’s amazing trickery how they make things look totally different from reality.

I spent nearly two years trying set up my 38s. After having them in bits and a couple of lower leg services I eventually decided to get an ebike shim stack tune, seeing as they are fitted on my ebike anyway and the warranty was about to run out.

It turned out that the grip 2 damper was borked and I never was going to set them up properly.

New damper under warranty. Still no ebike tune and back to square one trying to set the bloody things up 🤔

Been at the sumerbridge branch today and got the convertable full face helmet. I went in for elbow pads but nothing available.

I showed my helmet to a mate and off we went again. He bought the helmet and I got two pairs of cheap gloves.

Apparently they are no longer dealing with sweet protection so selling off their stock.

Yes I have the valves. The insert is that wide it pushes on the inside of the tyre and won’t let the air past it.

I have rimpact inserts. Not sure if they do different widths but the ebike rear is a sod to fit in a 35mm rim with 2.5 tyres . I also strongly suggest one of them cushcore bead tools to get the bead into the centre of the rim. It also traps air around the rim, leaving next to nothing against the tyre. I ended up sticking a hot screw though the valve hole to burn a hole to allow the air through. Next problem was that hole now gets clogged with tubeless fluid 🥴

    Front is fine though.

My first ebike was a mullet some six years ago. It seems to work ok, so when my second 29er ebike broke it’s rear XT microspline hub I decided to mullet it. I honestly don’t notice much difference. Slightly better downhill maybe? The bike is designed for either wheel size with a flip chip on the shock. Mustache game 8 if that matters!

Has anyone managed to hire a 625 bosch ebike battery?
I am staying in samoens and Google is not helping much.
Mountain spirit and extream glisses don’t rent.
Landing in Geneva and even trying some large bike shop there won’t reply to messages.
Also looking for vehicle hire recommendations please, possibly van for 3 bike boxes.
    Cheers Steve

I’ve had to dig a foundation inspection hole to alter a 10 year old conservatory from dwarf wall to a proper single storey extension. It’s about 1m deep so hopefully meets the current regs.

If going down the osb route you need osb3 as that’s the weather resistant version. I did a flat roof with osb3 and firestone rubber top. It was easy to fit and smooth out with just a paint roller.

Asda were miles out on my first prescription. I use +2 for close work and 2.5 normally. Cheap £1 shop rubbish what seems to suit. Asda said 4.5 and 5.5 lenses required so I purchased some online for about £20. It’s going to be a long time before I need them.

I needed chain replacement around every 500 miles due to stretch and thinking cheaper than a cassette. Currently trying an ebike specific chain on a full drive train renewal that was changed at 2k miles.
