Being a tight arsed git I made one from a bit of ally sq bar and an old derailleur bolt ?

I can’t pull on it so have to use some grips but it’s spot on for measuring against the wheel ?

The best upgrade you can do is to stick a decent chain on the bike.

X01 is my go to chain as it lasts a few thousand miles without destroying the cassette.

Whereas I could only get about 300 miles on cheap chains with the sort of mtbing I do.

Currently using the X01 on an SLX 12s cassette, but also used a steel deore cassette without any issues.

Apparently XTR chains are also top notch.

I somehow don’t think it will be that easy!

I had my Rh little finger straightened about 2 years ago.

It was curling round to my palm.

It’s not exactly straight now but near enough not to be a problem anymore ?

They did a nerve block procedure which involved making my whole arm feel like a dead weight, so I never felt anything and it was a day job.

It was a day or so before I got any feeling back in my arm but the hand swelling took ages to go down. Like a couple of months.

Having read this thread, I reckon that I should give my sage duo pro it’s 1st descale as it’s been inconsistent for the last couple of months.

Also seeing as I’ve had it for about 5 years and never touched it, apart from the main filter about once a year ?

Like the op, the benefits of nice soft water helps ?

Pipe centres are standard at 150mm.

Just replace it with something cheap as it’s only two nut’s.

30 mile 5 dales from scar house.

It’s on my YouTube channel as the 4 dales because I set off from a different place when I filmed it.

It’s got nothing to do with the airlines what is in the bike box.

It’s the security department that x-ray the box and decide if what’s in it is acceptable or not.

And it’s the baggage handlers that impose the 32kg max weigh limit. Although the airlines have to carry the box so they might alter that downwards.

I’ve always put as much as possible in the box. Especially any tools and spares. Just don’t go over the weigh limit or they will kick off and make you take items out.

Oko fluid from a farm shop or Amazon.

    Water it down 25%

It works very well and doesn’t dry out like latex based fluid.

I sold the wife’s mobility scooter to motorway, she’s absolutely livid and the bloody bingo hall keeps on phoning up to ask if she’s ok ?

X01 is my go to ebike chain. I can get 3k miles plus with one, whereas a standard chain only lasts 500 miles. It also doesn’t screw up the cassette like the cheap ones do.

It’s apparently more robust than the XX1 chain.

As above make it a bit wider and depending on your plan of action.

12.5 mm plasterboard, dot dab, plaster skim. And as said, it’s a lot easier and neater to fill the back edges of the arcatrive to the plaster finish than it is to alter the door casing afterwards.

I use Johnston acrylic eggshell. Just done my replastered bathroom ceiling with it.

1st couple of coats watered down.

PSA alert. In my local store it’s around £70 for a 5 ltr tin?

On Amazon it’s around £32 delivered. And it came yesterday in a Johnston’s van from my local store ?

Fully synthetic engine oil is good for 20k miles or a couple of years. Leave it alone until next summer ?

But you still used mechanical fixings which is what the OP doesn’t want to do, but he has no choice if he wants the board to stay on the wall.

Black smoke is over fueling. White smoke is turbo.

So it’s looking like an injector issue.

I never said I knew what I was doing ?

But I had injected the walls with damp proof fluid and basically tanked the whole concrete flooded kitchen before lifting the outside door and raising the floor.

It was my one and only rental property and I got a bit carried away ?

When I did a kitchen with damp walls, I used roofing latts to give a little air gap.

It also allowed me to put spacers behind the latts in order to get a perfectly flat and square wall.

Forgot to add, I also put visquine behind the latts on the bottom half.

Just remember that the foil is glued to the board, so if you glue the board to the studding then plaster over it, then that’s a lot of weight on some glue.

Screw it on. A few small holes won’t affect it much.

Fill the bearings with silicone sealant?

It might sound like a stupid idea, but you started it 🤔

Various sections are of the black routes are diverted.

The new sections are fast and flowing.

I was up there a couple of weeks ago and did the gypsy glen ride for the first time and quite enjoyed it. Although we only did 9 miles of it due to staying too long in the pub at Peebles 🤔

Be prepared for loads of climbing.

Something I forgot to add is my mates hired a couple of fibreglass type bike cases with a steel rod in the middle to transport there downhill bikes

They really struggled getting them through check in because of the 32kg limit due to the cases weighing so much.

A lad in the queue had a proper padded bike bag and they made him go to the far end of check in at Manchester to the oversized luggage conveyor.

Cardboard box is ok but cut it down as much as possible.

You can’t get the thing through the doors or around the barriers at Geneva if using a trolley like I was with my battery less ebike without it being stood up.

Then you can’t see where you are going 🤔.

Also cut extra handle slots in the ends as this makes it a lot easier to drag about.

Take extra tape for the journey home 👍

I second the coniston loop. For me it was one of the best lake district rides.

It is a hard climb out of coniston though.

My old Bosch Gen 2 bike has had 6 motors in 6 years.

The last one I had to buy as Bosch no longer does it’s rolling warranty.

But they offered me a good discount and I paid about £230 for a brand new motor.

I’ve just replaced the outer drive bearings due to water damage.

Easy enough job and around £25 for part’s.

My Gen 4 motor has recently had a hissy fit at just under 3 years old and with 4k miles.

Bosch want £720 for a new motor, so I told them to sod off with that and it’s now in the post to performance line bearings for their assessment 🤞

Thinking of going brose next time as apparently they are fully repairable 🤔

12 tins for £20 about 6 months ago.

An issue I had with the Rimpact inserts and Oko tubeless sealant was it created two air chambers.

The only way I could get correct air pressure to the outside edge of the tyre was by drilling a few holes in the insert.

Possibly because the 30mm rim and the 2.5 assigai was too tight a combination.

We hired one abroad and struggled to get two bikes in them fibreglass traveling boxes and one in a cut down cardboard box into the back whilst still allowing one person to sit in the back. It was fine with just the three bikes upside down and front wheel off.

Just come back from competing in the classic TT down the road in castletown.

Unfortunately shortage of marshalls meant I didn’t get to see the main event as they now start on Monday. Day 1 got postponed until 2pm because of mist on the mountain.

Arrived back in Heysham around midnight and the ferry terminal seemed to have people queuing to go over.

I’ve done a coast to coast ride a couple of years ago. Set off from Conwy and pretty much went straight down the middle of Wales and finished in port Talbot.

Some videos on Stephen Foster MTB and Garmin routes.

We passed through a few trail centres, Mach loop, brekon etc. but we had awful weather to start with and used the back up vehicles more than expected early on.

Does it have a small chainring around 18 teeth (Gen 2) or a large chainring around 34 teeth ( gen 4) ?

Either way a drop of blue locktite normally stops then coming loose

I have the Humax aura and it’s the biggest pile of donkey poo ever.

I bought the most expensive thinking it would just work fine, but it’s pretty naff.

The software needs an update but it seems that the company no longer have the staff to do that job.

Problem is there is very little choice around for Freeview recorder’s

I slide my EMTB along sheet of plywood with a tarpaulin underneath and an old thick coat hanging over the bumper.

I might put some wood under the back section so it’s level with the seats.

Front wheel off and bottom pedal removed.

New car for me so experimenting on what works best.

Liking the hippo bag idea though to keep everything cleaner.

    @peanutcracknell.

It’s what the internet says works best from other users. I think the servo wave gives more fluid for a given amount of pull.
