Was there yesterday and it was wet and minging but the grip was amazing ! never ridden a place that still retains so much grip in poor conditions.

Magic Mary front and DHR2 rear … perfect

As arogers said, once on the steep loom stuff you have to be committed and have confidence, found some trails intimidating but no issues with grip .. best place I’ve ever ridden

Never dropped a chain on mine either, only problem I had with my 2.1 was the actual internal clutch spring had gone and it was replaced under warranty

I’ve been using the 520 for about 8 months now, it was good at 1st but I found that mine missed out loads of segments once I uploaded the data to garmin connect then onto strava and it still continues to do so.

I now only use it to find new trails and use my Sunnto watch to record my rides as it never misses a segment.

Done both, but I think Ard Moors is a little bit more technical on some stages but nice fast and flowy It would be much harder in the wet than Ard Rock

I used the Aggressor on the front of my 29er,and struggled to find grip with it.tried various pressures, might try it on the rear at some point but happy with the DHR2 atm

Sweet Protection Mudrides …. expensive but keeps you dry and good warranty service

These thin pads offer no protection whats so ever… I used the Fox launch Enduro and they was basically knee warmers and severely bruised my knee in a low impact tumble.

Then used the Fox Launch Pro but after some recent nasty crashes where my flats kept ripping my right shin open I now use the RF knee/shin pads and they are brilliant and the most comfy pads I’ve ever worn.

Odi Rogue. +1 great grip in the wet and cuts down vibration on the rough stuff

I used the Camelbak Palos at this years Ard Moors and it was no bother at all. Just used it to carry my water only and wore a swat bib to carry my spares.

If fitted correctly the Palos doesn’t move at all and I don’t even notice wearing it.

    Its the 2014 Spesh Enduro 29er @Yetiman

Thats the problem @stevied the techy rooty sections where you think you can peddle that catches me out, even tried pumping to maintain speed have even stiffened the suspension to see how that works but still happens.

Slimmer peddles maybe? might have a look a the new Gamut Podium flat Peddles… any excuse !

Yeah just had another stupid crash this morn and its becoming the norm now ! I think I’ll just try and get used to it and try and learn to keep my pedals level and buy some Knee/shin pads

Thanks for the reply’s guys, I’m going to keep the MM on the front as its very predictable but reading the reviews on the DHR2 3C sounds good for the rear. Does it come with EXO casing or DD yet

Bugger …. might as well leave my Minion SS it little bit longer then :| atleast it still corners well in the wet

I had a Aggressor DD on the front I found it loosing grip very easily on the front so took it off and put the Magic Mary back on.

I hope it works better on the rear for the winter time

I used to use the Rock Razor and now switched to the Minion SS and I find it provides better grip in muddy conditions apart from loosing traction uphill if its really bad

I broke my collarbone over 2 weeks ago and was told it would heal up in time 4-8 weeks it was giving me moderate pain and was given a shoulder strap to wear and still completed Ard Moors yesterday totally strapped/taped up shoulder and strong painkillers !

Only really hurt riding uphills as it was pulling my collarbone but going down it didn’t hurt that much!?

Now time to rest it and let it heal properly

Was a brilliant day, S1 was like an ice rink compared to Saturdays practice and S4 I thought was poorly marked and quite a few of us went off route ! and S5 was just bonkers and fast !

Cracking weather and great lads and another well organised event. Found the transition from S3 to S4 brutal with the bike a bike section

Having a collarbone injury I just took it really steady so couldn’t risk crashing but finished at a respectable 19 mins.

Actually preferred it more than Ard Rock !

I’m running a DD Aggressor 29er up front and it does hold its own well even in sloppy conditions.

Got an Ardent on the rear at the mo, but just waiting to fit a minion ss on the rear next

Cheers Guys again for the input, I do like the rock razor but it must be my OCD thing where I need to fit a minion ss as I’m now running an aggressor up front.

Looking forward to using it now its ordered :D

I’d go MM up front, I used HD front and rear last year and didn’t give me much confidence on the looser stuff

But saying that I’d bought the maxxis aggressor for this years Ard Rock but can’t go now due to health issues

So me protecting my frame with some inner tube is my fault ? the sticker is on there to stop the lacquer from falling off !

its an expensive frame so I’ll go out my way to protect it and because of that this happens ….. total shite
