Hmmmmm …. where to start !

I bought a new enduro carbon expert 29er and had issues from the start, chain snapped after 2nd ride and as it went through specailized warranty and it took 2 weeks to have it replaced.

IR Post malfunctioned so it was sent off again to specailized and was sent back only to find it was STILL broken so then then sent me a brand new one ! all this took 3 weeks so no riding !

BB bearings and jockey wheel bearings all seized up !? it had never once been pressure washed only washed down with a hose pipe so again lost the bike for another 3 weeks so they could test all the bearings and found then all to be faulty and replaced all !!

I might be unlucky but its all very friccin frustrating as its an expensive bike and too many problems considering I’ve only owned it a short time and now its away to the LSB to have new Hope wheelset and brakes and headset and chain guide fitted as I’m away to the alps soon and I don’t think the standard parts would last a hammering.

If I had the chance again I wouldn’t have bought it and gone for the bronson instead

Only bought the hopes as my lbs gave me a cracking deal on them, so only time will tell once I’ve done ard’rock and a trip to the alps with them

I took Strava way to **** seriously at first as it took the enjoyment out of my rides so stopped using it :x Now gone back to Moveslink and just log and ride my bike and no need to chase segments anymore.. its lush

Im just in the process of getting some new 29er hope tech enduro’s and fitting HD’s but as its all part of my new upgrade the LBS will be getting them up tubeless for me as I can’t be @rsed as I find it a pain :?

Ditto .. Has a really bad accident last year on the mtb and bought a stunning new spesh enduro a few months ago ( as the other bike was trashed in the crash) and was hoping it would get my mojo back and only been used a handful of times.

Got a few enduro comps coming up shortly as not even got the motivation to train for it !!

Thanks James … point taken there, do like the reviews for the Maltese Falcon mind but my concern is If I don’t get on with being clipped in then I’ll be gutted spending that much on a decent set of shoes.

For starters, I never wash my waterproofs with detergent and if I use anything it’s pure soap, which helps.

Anyhow, after putting a wash through the machine without detergent I used nikwax wash in stuff (tx direct or something?). Did the job.

    +1 Nikwax everytime :-)

lol, na ya safe … like whats been before, groups are a pain in the arse .. always someone or somebody who pushes things and makes the session shite .. Once drove up to Glentress from newcastle to meet up with another group of lads only for them to arrive late and then change the location to inners so packed up and drove back home !

    Solo riding now rocks !

Generally like riding on my own,I hate the standing around measuring dicks and prefer to be doing some riding, being let down at last minute winds me up and changing routes last minute also pisses me off,I have a couple of riders who don’t piss me off and get on with, group riding is for wanna be roadies….

    +1 :-)

Thank f@@k I’m normal as well !! I enjoy going out by myself, I either chill out on my rides or sometimes I go bonkers.. either way I just prefer it that way.

Looked at the Rock Razor as well which had very good reviews when paired with the MM but isn’t it only for dryish conditions ? always a good option for a summer tyre but saying that .. British Summers

Hi mactheknife, I’ve heard some people saying the same thing about the MM cracking but luckily I’ve had no problems with them yet even had a huge thorn go thru it the other day and the sealed straight away ..

I’ll more than likely stick the MM back on for Ard Rock as the front end grip is outstanding and gives you bags of confidence.

Moving house at the end of the week .. finally ! so luckily I’ve got some trails a stone throw away which is also the start to a strava segment so mission there ! .. joking aside normally the decent trails like Thrunton Woods and Chopwell are bout 30/40 mins drive away

Using Magic Mary front at the mo and yeah grips well in certain conditions but very very draggy and its was total shite on my last ride where it didn’t shed the mud and had to carry the bike of the trail as it was unrideable !
