I’ve been using RR for about 2 months now and my confidence has built on them, I find them extremely fast rolling and good grip on the corners.

Not found any damage on the outer edge yet compared to some folk so seems to be lasting nicely.

I’ve had over 13 KOM’s in a month on these so yes they are fast and very grippy but do 90% of your braking before you go flying into the bends and great paired with a HD upfront

Yeah timmys  I was informed on here that regan suspension does it so was wanting some feedback on the workmanship and quality of their work or any other companies anyone else could recommend.

Personally I think new forks is on the bloody cards

No photos of the damage @andyl but I’ll just get a lower leg service done on a regular basis now and I’ll get some pics taken next time its stripped down.

The abrasion was just below the bushes so It couldn’t be seen earlier @nuke

Well they did recommend that I do get a regular lower leg service but even that way they think it’ll only last 6 months approx

So time to save up yet again

I only received my purchase invoice when I bought the bike from Cycle Surgery and I did complain to them and Specailized UK

Found them both to be muppets tbh

I bought my Spesh Enduro through cycle surgery and I found the warranty process took bloody ages so never bothered with that system again and went through different channels.

Cycle Surgery had to get in touch with Spesh UK and it just took forever to get answers and all the time I was without a bike.

    never ever again !!

Scarp 2 … Bombproof and relatively cheap compared to the hilleberg.

can only be bought from the USA but they do come up for sale in the UK from time to time.

I have the Scarp 1 and its handled some pretty atrocious weather conditions

Its the seal on the charger side.. i.e compression settings side

I’ve now booked it in to the LBS now, plus its never really been right from new so hopefully it’ll be a quick…ish turnaround.

Thanks for the headsup anyway LoCo

One seal is leaking on the one side and when you fully compress the forks is doesn’t rebound … it just stays there.. even with the correct air

My Spesh Enduro came with 32T as standard and I really struggled with it,so I changed to 30T and its now perfect !

Great for the hilly stuff and you can build up some decent speed on the flats and maintain it.

What happens if you use the french men’s cock one? Do you become French is that why you avoid it?

Its a KOM which I’d not like to claim and then stuck with it 8O

Used it in Thrunton Woods last week for the 1st time and I was surprised considering the conditions that my timings was a lot quicker and a few top 10 places on according to stravaaaaaaaaaaa.

Few dodgy moments like but I’m shite on DH anyway but certainly made an enjoyable ride

Running HD front at the mo, I was just wondering what it would be like running another RR up front or maybe something similar instead.

    Thanks anyway

Been using the RR on the rear for bout 6 weeks now and at 1st it was a bit sketchy more so in the wet but now that I’ve used it loads I’ve sort off learned how to use it and I find its a cracking tyre as long as I’d say 90% of the braking is done before going into a corner and lean it far over once your in.

You’ve got to be very committed using this tyre.

Air – always measure the sag yourself. Set at 30%-ish and see how it feels. Adjust between 20 and 30 as you see fit. Forget what the manufacturer says generally, although it may be a starting point.

Everything else is personal preference and riding style. Guides may tell you what settings are better for what, but it’s really down to playing around. Unless you buy or service from TF Tuned, give them (truthfully) your details and preferences, and then what they tell you may be fairly spot on. At least that’s what I found with my CCDB shock. Though to be fair CC do a lot of work with publishing base tunes for specific bikes and have a forum to discuss tuning. Even then you can use their extensive guide to tweak it for your riding and terrain.

Yeah thats what I’ve found, well I’ll be sending my pikes off to TF Tuned before I do Ard’Rock so they will be hopefully set up properly

Very true, I’m 83 kilo’s and I’ve now dropped it down to 75psi and its made a huge difference, still need to tinker about with the rebound again but now its enjoyable to ride!

I’ll be there, as a sweeper ride, so cracking the whip to get everyone going! Apparently there’re over 250 entries so far so should be good atmosphere. Route looks like “classic” Cheviots. Plenty of landrover tracks and and ancient roads with a bit of singletrack thrown in for good measure.

Lets just hope its going to be dry, otherwise I’ll be dying at the back

Know a bloke who used to ride around on a HT frame with 200mm forks. His pre-ride prep involved lager and weed, post ride was Cider – NEVER the other way around – he was quick too, occasionally he’d stop to vomit, but in between he was genuinely quick.

Anyway, he took his protection very seriously, he always wore shin pads, football shin pads admittedly, but pads all the same – not a helmet though, oh sod that.

Finally, after a couple of near misses he bought himself a helmet and stopped drinking before riding. Ironically first time out with a lid he crashed on the freeride track at Cwmcarn, first time there he threw himself down chasing someone who knew the way, off the wood drops and towards the corkscrew (all gone now of course) misread it completely and sent it straight down rather than railing the berm and handed on his head.

He felt a bit off, so rolled a joint and took 5 before finishing – 3 days later the headache was still there so he went to the docs – fractured skull.

Haven’t seen him for years, but he’s an odd one – to this day I’ve never understood he almost evangelical belief in shin pads, but not a helmet.

    Class read there P-Jay
